@@MartinZero couldn’t tell you there was no grill over it mate it was as if I was walking towards the chimney bit through the trees there was a man hole looking thing with no lid but had a dodgy thin metal ladder dropping in to it going. Back in next few weeks with the waders on I’ll let you know if it’s big or not :)
Just to add a little bit to the story of The Daniel Adamson… At the tender age of 16, I was a Junior Clerk at The Manchester Ship Canal Company in King Street Manchester. Each year, staff were chosen for the ‘great honour’ of a Ship Canal Inspection on the Daniel Adamson. It was a glorified booze up, sailing from Number 9 Dock to Eastham, with the Managing Director as host. Drinks and food a plenty…A great day out!
In his book Signalman the author M Burke states that the numbers mounted on the tunnel walls were to aid railway staff to know where they were while passing through the tunnel. He also says towards the bottom of the tunnel incline was a signal followed by a set of points which lead to a dead end siding in the tunnel wall. If the descending wagons ran out of control they would crash into this dead end siding rather than career into the yard. When a descending train successfully stopped at the signal the traincrew would alert the signalman who would then change the point for the train to enter the yard. There was no sign of the dead end siding in this clip unless it was in the flooded section. Hope this is helpful.
Daft question time if I and when I go places like this can I get in trouble or are you aloud to wander just popped in to my head in case I ever get seen ? 😂
@@MartinZeroyeah just found out at the end of your video thanks mate just in case I stumble up one one my self that’s all but getting a gas reader to be safe too but going through the coverts or what ever the name is we’re free to do that right or is that another tress pass ? Situation not to fussed on getting in trouble just rather know so I know we’re to be more hidden 😂
Went on a trip on the Daniel Adamson down the Weaver, its a lovely ship and as you've shown the internal decoration is fabulous. During the trip we were able to go down into the engine room and speak to the guys firing the boilers etc. We all had to wear paper overshoes as it was lovely and oily down there, and hot too. Great to see and smell it all in action. Later we were able to go onto the bridge. All the crew were really friendly and were glad to answer questions about the workings of the ship.
Nice use of Black & White/Color. Mary Shelley, had to get her story of Frankenstein from somewhere. Dr. Victor Frankenstein was Swiss Nice goin Martin, Thanks for Old Kanky, you did well m8. About the stone roses gig at spike Island.. somebody did film the gig on a old video camera for health and safety purposes he's found the original video in his loft and hopefully its going to be released soon.. think its only one camera filming so dont expect too much..
Its an amazing view from the top of the pike.. if nobody's been the whole area is fabulous the TV mast is absolutely massive too.. think you found it hard walking up to the pike ive run up it and it almost killed me 😂😂
The Tinn Brook runs under Robinsons Brewery yard. From time to time they have to go down man holes to retrieve things like old car tyres etc. as the brook can get partially blocked quite easily
I was born and lived in Cambridge till i was in my 20s im 50 this year and i can tell you now that urban renewal is not the best for the working class of any town or city .. when i was living in Cambridge it was a working class town with a couple of posh area's of housing and a University .. yes there were loads of students there but it was a nice place to live. I went back a few years ago and the change is shocking.. loads of student flats the cheapest house was 450 grand.. all my friends can't afford live in the town they were born in.. yes the city center looks nice but the soul of the place has been ripped out.. thankfully i moved to Lancashire 19 years and a absolutely love living up north.. the people are fantastic the countryside is beautiful and the small mill towns are a fantastic place to live...
Short but very sweet. You look like you enjoying the tomato sauce. That steam boat was fabulous. Would be nice to have a slow look round. Really enjoyed that thanks. Please take care
