I have both hip and knee pain. I’m very active fifty year old female. Tennis. Pickleball. Strength training. Which should I prioritize the hip or knee exercises? Is there hope, in the other words will I get better?

So sitting seems to aggravate this the most and the way I’ve been trying to find relief is by stretching, usually the ankle over knee or the standing and bending side to side, which apparently aggravates things. What advice would you provide for an office worker that’s dealing with this? I’m kinda of at my wits end due to pain and not really finding much relief.
So if 45 degrees is too hard would do 30 degrees instead of that doesn't hurt for wall sits.? So just find what is pain free and work within that once it is feeling better you progress
@@PerformanceSportSpine Thanks currently it's very irritable. Do glute exercises and it helps a bit but get sore from my daily activities currently. I am able to do the wall sits at 30 degrees though, any deeper makes it more sore the next day I tried that a few days ago.
At age 55 asked doctor about some numbness in my upper right leg that I could get rid of by kicking or pulling the leg up like you showed in the video. Years later at about 70 the numbness started in the other leg. Took my 2nd MRI. Both showed Spinal stenosis Still I ran or rode bike daily. Then I did, what seems now, a foolish thing: I took the first 2 Pfizer Covid jabs. A week later I went to the hospital with many health complaints. Am now am 86 . Feet have numbness. Keep walking for about 30 minutes a couple of times a week. I think that because I’ve practiced Tai Chi for 30+ years is the reason I still walk with a bamboo stick. Now do QKong daily as well. Am certainly adding your video routine as well. Just learning to live with it! Thank you Doctor Keep doing what you’re doing.
Thank you for sharing your story and journey! Keep being active, I am sure this will inspire a lot of people. Will do and thank you for the nice comment.
Can I eventually get back into stretching those areas? How long do you have to stay away from stretching? I’ve always been told my glutes are tight so I thought stretching was good, but I wonder if months of yoga and DEEP stretching has made this problem worse….
Yes you can! As for the time frame, it will depend. You have good instincts, this will only get worse with deep stretching and is not caused from "tight muscles." I see this far too often, where people get poor and/or wrong information. Yoga instructors should not be giving advice for people in pain as they are not trained for that. You need to remove the compression/irritation of the tendon and start to strengthen the tendon/muscle with the exercises we prescribe. Please let us know if you have any questions along the way. You can expect a full recovery, but will likely be in months, not weeks
So to the best of your ability. What can you say about it, if it only occurs during over head movements for the tricep. There's still some pain for other movement, but it's tolerable, and doesn't get worse as I go on with the set. But all overhead movements are a no, even at an objectively light weight. Shoulder presses and bench presses are also completely fine. The pain sometimes flares up in its own, but subsided with ibuprofen and lidocaine. I just need to know if it's worth the cost for physical therapy and a doctors visit 😭
Hi I have been following you for the Nerve shock pain on Right Cervical Trapezius junction which is from DeskJob. Is it advisable to do shoulder and trap exercises daily? As you advise specifically on dosages.
Aww Thank you so much for the reply. 4 days in a row then rest or doing on alternate days ? Out of your vidoes which one i can do “daily” for Mid back thoracic- rhomboid pain and for desk job- Cervical Trapezius shock pain? I do your shoulder shrugs with 2.5db daily , wall leaned and following head with hands back etc.
I visited many doctors and no one told me anything for my rib pain after scans and many tests. thanks to your vídeo now only have pain in one point: the tip of the Edge of my left rib, and when i touch It it's like something moves there and crunch.doctors touched me there and felt It and said to me "oh,well, nothing to do here" i really Don't know how much i can do about it, but you save me a lot of pain.thank you very much
This comment should be in the rib pain video of yours. Sorry for the mistake, but i'm sure you get it.thanks again good sir.people near you are Lucky to get your wisdom
he litteraly explains why, stretching releases the tension temporarily because youre pulling the muscle from the tensed position, but youre not really fixing anything because youre not working the muscle, working the muscle promotes blood flow and recovery, growth of strength and size, improving health of the tissues
Heeyy,i am an overhead athlete,i have posterior elbow pain during bowling, can these also help me to reducethe pain from overstress hyperextension in the elbow caused during fast bowling....
I have pain low down where the tendons meet the bone on the outside of my foot just behind my little toe - is this likely to be peroneal tendonitis, or something else?
I'm 80, diagnosed with moderate OA, both hips. I stretch and strengthen all the hip attached muscles daily in shoulder deep, 90 degrees water for 20 to 30 minutes. The zero-gravity condition has allowed me to dramatically improve the tone on the muscles that hold the ball in it's socket, without over stressing my deteriorating cartlidge. My Fitbit watch shows that I'm consistently walking over 8,000 steps daily without significant pain. Two years ago, 100 steps was my upper limit.
DR.!!!!!! YOU RUN YOUR WORDS TOGETHER! TALK DISTINCTLY AND SLOWLY WITH THE APPROPRIATE PAUSES PLEASE!!...Yu are a good doctor, but your presentation skills need improvement...

Hi sir am. 64 male. I was operated upon for Lumbar. SCOLIOSIS on Feb 24 th this year. Hip pain is scorching me even after these five months. Left sidepain waist to ankle is really testing me especially during night. During coughing or sneezing paain is jerking. Am a kidney patient also. Can I request you for some physiotherapy steps?
This just made our day! Thank you so much for the nice comment, we really appreciate it. Water therapy is great, swimming you will need to start slow and see how the back tolerates it. If it increase your symptoms, you will need to avoid it .
Thank you so much for this comprehensive guide. I get pain in my left adductor / groin when doing split squats with my left leg forward. Have you ever encountered this before? Going to try your exercises to rehab it, but it seems like there’s a structural issue I need to address to prevent it again in future..
You're most welcome! Yes, sound like you need to progress your adductor rehab to a place that can handle the loads when doing the split squats. You will most likely have to limit the weight on the split squats that the adductor tendon can handle and then slowly increase over time
@@PerformanceSportSpine thanks for replying! Yes, going to work on the rehab exercises from your vid. Also have a previous knee injury on that side plus a tight hip from surfing, so it’s all related. Thank you so much
they told me I have tendinopathy (medial epicondylitis) it's been there I've had it for about 2 years it came from doing arm wrestling and from there lifting weights it was useless because as soon as I put my elbow at 90 degrees it cracked and it automatically doesn't react to stimuli given the weights you still have the problem today, can you tell me what I can do? (I've done laser etc but the problem is still there)
My hip pain started two months ago after my chiropractor taught me a glute stretch because I told him I was having trouble tying my left sneaker. Bending to cut left toenails also a problem. I did the stretch only a few times then stopped. Now my hip hurts sitting and today, walking. I’m 70 and 20 lbs overweight because of a medication I’m taking which messes with estrogen as a side effect. It’s the only medication I’ve ever taken (blood pressure) and I can’t get off it. I’ve tried several times. I eat a whole food plant based diet and am usually trim and light on my feet. Now I’m fat around belly hips and thighs. Still eating the same way with no oil. I’ve recently added 4oz animal protein with breakfast but haven’t seen any improvement yet. Will start these exercises now! Thank you so much.
Hi I sprained my outer ankle 8 weeks ago and that’s still got some lingering pain but it’s nothing compared to this pains I’m feeling on the inside of my ankle right behind it. Is there anything I can do to fix it because I really need to get back into sports and I’ve been out for 8 weeks already. Do you think these two injuries are linked?
