I'm a university prof with a PhD in Medieval Studies. I use language, literature, and history to explore the web of connections in the world around us. Many of the videos on this channel start with a word as a jumping off point, with its history and etymology opening up a way to explore history and culture more widely. Others examine literary devices, cognitive science, myth, medieval literature, history of science, and a wide variety of other topics.

The "endless knot" is a common visual motif of an interconnected knot with no beginning or end, found in many cultures around the world. My use of the symbol is a reference to the 14th c. poem "Sir Gawain & the Green Knight", where it describes the pentangle which Gawain has emblazoned on his shield as a symbol of the interconnectedness of things. Here it also gains significance from its comparison to the cognitive science hexagram or heptagram which shows the interrelated nature of various fields in cognitive science.

I have zero hate towards Trans men or women. But I hate the word cis, don’t ask why I’m offended don’t tell me I’m a bigot. If you have to add a word to understand who I am to make it easier on you, I can comprise. Instead of calling me a cis woman will you respectfully call me an O.G. Woman. Please and thank you. How I feel matters too.

You are going to have to get into Hebrew for all this to make sense. PeTeR breaks down, in Hebrew, to aBBa, PaPa, Pa - Father - and TeR - The Way of Righteousness - strickly TRK/DRK - but its lost the K in this example. However it retains it in the case of PaTRicK, PaTRiCia, FreDeRicK, DeReK and several hundred variants across all the alphabetic languages of Europe, which all emerge as dialects not of PIE - a theoretical language at best - but of Hebrew. So PeTeR, Father of The Way, FreDeRicK, Brother of the Way, PaTRicK and PaDRaiG likewise, CeDRiC, RoDeRicK., BroDeRicK, DRaKe, ManDRaKe, ShelDRaKe, HenDRicKs, EDRiCh, plus countless others, all structured on the Hebrew root DRK - The Way of Righteousness - and suggesting that all are pilgrims on the way to and from Jerusalem. Left leading piLGRim, that's right leading ReGeL, in Hebrew., so it goes on but without a knowledge of Hebrew it's only going to get complicated.

You don't speak Hebrew? You do now.
