This channel is dedicated to the world of chronic hip pain and movement. In my videos, you'll learn tools you can use to feel better in your body. I suffered with chronic hip pain for years and know how difficult it is to find good advice. My goal with this channel is to give you practical, helpful and HONEST tips on how to get healthier, happier hips.
Reduce the amount of hip flexion by pushing your feet further away from you. This helps many people feel less in these unwanted areas and more in the outside of the hip, as intended.
I would still recommend building strength in that hip over a few months and see what happens. The key is starting with a volume that is low enough in intensity where you can get many reps (8-12 per set) in and build confidence in the movement. FAI is only as limiting as we want it to be (speaking from personal experience).
L position on the wall is causing my quads to shake/quiver. Last week the shaking wasn’t happening. Very unnerving. Also, lower back pain bilaterally is much worse in the last 3 weeks.
Don't do it. Just do the first one with the legs on the table. THAT is The One that will Open Up the thoracic and lumbar and relax and begin to re align the hips. That, is "the skeleton key" pun intended. Just do that one AM/NOON/PM for a month and keep notes on your progress.
Thank you Maks, just finding out how much my own hip pain is related to fear, and my brain trying to protect me. This is a game changer. Very much appreciate all your content and your delivery of the information, in such an understandable way. (South of England)
I did the 90 degree test against a door and i stood no chance getting my ankle over my knee, even with lifting my tailbone a little bit. the left side is of course a little worse. and when i sit and place my ankle over the other knee, there is only pain in my left side.
Hi I just found out I got hip labrum tear and I am in tremendous pain when I walk! I have no known injury! I live an active lifestyle i crossfit 5days a week. Its depressing that I cant do the things I use to be able to do! Surgery is off the table for me! In your own experience do you think Ill be able to go back to normal functioning crossfitter? Im desperate
you just saved my life i have piriformis syndrome only on my left side and could never get any relief this worked instantly after holding for 30 seconds i felt amazing thank you
My last comment may have sounded pessimistic. But I highly recommend following Maks Reznik training series - it takes time and patience, but results stick.
Thanks for the tip on backing off of intensity and range when setbacks occur. 4 weeks into the Maks Reznik happy hips course I am seeing much improvement, which triggers impatience to push it further, leading to setbacks (restricting pain).
What would the recovery look like with surgery vs no surgery? Trying to get back to full speed as an athlete and just got diagnosed with a Hip impingement, FAI and likely Labral tear
I came here looking for pointers as to why I still struggle with tight hips and piriformis pain on right side. I'm someone who can do pigeon, as I practiced yoga for a very long time, but after a surgery I was on rest that I believe caused an imbalance. When my pain flares up my chiropractor asks me: What have you been doing differently? The answer is this exercise right here. I hadn't been doing this one regularly, but remember doing this faithfully the last time this pain flared up this bad. I have a lot of flexibility, but even a little tightness triggers a whole lot of pain. I'm going to take this advice before getting back to my PT exercises from when this first began. As someone who has fibromyalgia I can tell you that twists like this done everyday speed up the recovery, but the trick is definitely to listen to your body first. My body craves these stretches everyday and if I don't keep up on it the pain just comes back. Thank you for explaining this in a way that was easy to understand. I'm hoping this will help me to finally correcting the imbalance in strength in these muscles and heal it once and for all.
I have the exact same pain pattern you described in an Upright Health video you were featured in. Your 7 day exercise program has helped me a lot. I'm waiting for the results of an X-ray right now. I'm going to check out your e-book and see a physical therapist.
I have a question. I have a labrum tear, why we have to do all this phisical therapy if that wont fix the tear. I think is a waste of time of assurance to dont send you surgery right awat. Can you please explain? I dont know what to exoect from my phisical therapy 😢
so is synovial fluid made of collagen? And in 2-3 weeks this will start filling my hip joint again.? Also I used to ice my painful joint and leg where the pain radiated. I have changed to heat pads. 20 minutes on the joint and 10 off and repeat once. In your experience does this bring circulation to the joint area for better blood flow? thank you
Been having chronic upper hamstring and hip pain due to sports and have been to Physical Therapy and nothing has seemed to help. Can’t seem to pinpoint what is causing, it all just acts up when I full out sprint. Any suggestions?
Hi Mak, I’m really glad that I found your channel. I’ve been experiencing pain in my hip and my doctor has suggested that I get an MRI with a dye injection to check for a labral tear. However, I’m not too keen on the idea of having such an MRI. Instead, I’m thinking of postponing the scan for a while and trying out your exercises first. I appreciate your insight about the connection between our brain and body. I wanted to find some information because after visiting the doctor, I didn’t receive any guidance regarding what movements I could do while experiencing pain. I thought that I would have to sit on my sofa for the next six weeks, which would make me miserable. Normally, I walk 3-5 miles and do dance exercises, but I suppose that’s not a good idea right now.
Hey there! Glad you found my channel too. Yes the brain and body connection is a very important concept to digest and I wish I had this information when the doc told me to get an MRI. I have a bunch of other videos on this topic so definitely check them out!
@@MaksReznik I have a good understanding of the connection between the brain and the body. The threat response from brain to body makes total sense. How would I handle walking? I typically walk 3-5 miles daily, but I feel uncomfortable walking right now. I haven’t scheduled PT yet and am unsure if I want to. I feel like I receive better help from you and others here. I am uncertain about what activities to avoid while recovering from this hip pain. Do you have any videos or information about what should be avoided during healing? Thank you so much for all the helpful information and for the work that you do. I genuinely appreciate it.
❤ I love it!!! 💕 Thank you!! It was really relaxing right before bed. I'm going to do it again in the morning. I bet it will really get the stiffness out!
