Nope! Flag on the play ., Uncle Roger is 100% correct. A grilled cheese is cheap American white bread and cheap American sliced cheese. Chef Makinson is over there about the French kruk man sewar { spelling} 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My absolute favorite version of a grilled cheese has Jarlsberg, tomatoes, and a bit of dill with whatever other seasoning you like, grilled on a wheat berry bread 😋. This abomination Gordon made looks awful 🤮
2 Kraft singles between 2 slices of wonder bread would literally curb stomp this atrocity. His "redemption" grilled cheese was just as bad, if not worse. Gordon should lose his Chef status until he makes a proper grilled cheese.
Don't know how I missed this episode but I will say that your earlier videos on Jack's food are just fine in fact you likely could be even "meaner" considering the sheer evil Jack has committed to video. Raw chicken and even worse feeding other people 14+ month brisket chilli... this man is a monster and I can only hope that other RU-vidrs continue to reveal this man's evils.
Grilled cheese sounds like the easiest thing to do. Buttered bread grilled in a skillet, cheese, not even good cheese it just needs to melt and taste cheesy. You can certainly add to it like a quesadilla but how do you go so wrong with a Tomato Soup side dish
I like pickles, hamburger slices slipped in while the cheese is hot enough to open the sandwich…kimchi sounds really good also actually 🤷♂️ Edit: no hard cheese ffs. Hamburger and Grilled Cheese may be the two thing I do absolutely feel American works perfectly.
For decades (circa 1970) I have eaten grilled cheese sandwiches, and I have eaten grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. I have never called the ham and cheese a grilled cheese with ham. Gordon should call that a kimchee sandwich with cheese that is not melted, bread that is burned, and smells like burnt wood.
Very delicious looking! I'm glad I was eating the same time when watching lol. I'm going to hunt down that kind of pasta, it is rare in the stores near me. Wish me luck!
Korean cusine uses a lot of cheese, so cheese with kimich doesn't sound that far fetched. I personally think gordan ramsey poorly executed this dish, but it does sound very interesting. At least its more edible than jaime.
I like sourdough and cheddar in my grilled cheese sandwiches. Whack in into a pan with a little butter. I like the tang of the sourdough and the sharpness of the cheddar. Maybe it's not for everyone though.
It should be called "How to take a perfect healthy food and make it less healthful". Why would anyone replace egg with processed wheat, wtf. Super natural.
I would either try to make the sandwich with this thickness *but* using a panini press, OR, I would do it in the pan like GR here but everything sliced much thinner.
8:20 fusion might be good idea ... Sambal Sriracha or Shrimp paste instead of butter spread....haiyaaaah ... or pesto and mozzarella with some rocket leaves ... I want to eat Panini now... Anyway Thank you for the review...
The bread doesn't look bad, but definitely cut way too thick. It's got a solid crumb, which is good for grilled cheese; if you use a rustic bread and it has large voids in the crumb, the cheese just melts through the holes in the bread and it's a mess. White bread is for feeding to ducks at the park, not for human consumption. I prefer Cheddar, Swiss or smoked Gouda for grilled cheese, they melt pretty well and have solid flavor. Motz is fine, i guess, if you want the stretchy thing, but I'm not as big a fan because it gets stringy and makes the sandwich hard to eat. Parm and romano are great for salads and pasta, but not grilled cheese. Processed Cheese Product, or American cheese, is not a substance I want to put in my body. I've seen tomato added, and I think sour stuff like thin sliced dill pickle or sour krout is delicious if you have rich or high fat cheese that complements it. I don't know that I'd use kimchi with those particular cheeses though. They're too dry.
Here in copenhagen, you can get something similar at the Hart Bakery :) amazing grilled sourdough bread with a hard cheese that has fantastic nutty and fruity flavour, and kimchi which adds spice and extra tang to the samdwich. Honestly it’s the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Everything works great together
I'm on Uncle Roger's side here. I don't mind using a sourdough bread, since I don't like the taste of white bread, but the cheeses were a big mistake. There are so many other good cheeses in the world that would do a much better job. And the kimchi? I've been scratching my head for an hour now. Why kimchi with those cheeses, especially with a pepper corn cheese? I would much rather have introduced something sweet, like honey or maybe a fig jam. But we're all different. And Ramsey showed us that he is VERY different than most people in this video. I'm baffled and confused.
