AlvintheDirector.. how do you like alaska so far especially up in north pole? how do you like Fairbanks ? i hope your experience up there go good and well…
Ft. Liberty? Please enlighten me. Ronald Reagan was POTUS when I was in. The M - 60 I carried was brand new; fresh out of the crate. The U. S. Army is a very different place now versus my time.
It’s the little things that got me. Picking up cigarettes, cleaning, reorganizing and doing bullshit details all of the time. Also, running sucked. Infantry was definitely the wrong job choice.
bruh i had a 29 lb ruck plus water, didn't train one bit for it, the worst part was i worse oakley light boots, my toes and balls of my feet screamed at mile 9 and beyond. just dug deep, i only cramped the last .6 miles. ate one beef stick, two gels, one honey waffle and a camelbak with dripdrop. i am old, just dig deep, you got this 4:25.05 14ish min pace.
Just did it for the first time last weekend. In my opinion, the first two hours are easy. It's not till you get about the halfway point, that keeping up the pace starts to get hard. I'd definitely recommend using a Garmin or similar, so you can see your pace/speed all the way round the course. That makes it easier to know when you need to pick up the pace, and when you've got some time in the bank, and can take it a bit easier.
These are all good points. I got my EIB in 2012 at Ft. Lewis, WA. One of the things I did on my lanes was study the events in the staging tent while I waited my turn. I made sure that I was one of the last people to go through at the end of the day and crammed crammed crammed.
Holy hell, back when i was at Wainwright if a truck didnt start (outside) at -30 we just said "oh well, nothing we can do, we might blow up the battery " glad to hear things aren't as bad as in 2018
I’ve never rucked more than 10 miles (since basic). But I’ve been training for the 18.6 miler. So far the longest I’ve rucked has been (Airborne shuffling) 7 1/2. This Saturday I. Will ruck in the local 10K race. But i plan to start 30 minutes before the gun time to add on distance to my ruck. I’m rucking the race because I traditionally run the race each year. So this will be a new experience for me. Anyway, I plan to do the upcoming Norwegian ruck on April 6. Hopefully I’ll be able to get in 10 miles this Tuesday before the ruck day. To help prepare myself, I do leg strength training before I ruck. I don’t have the time to get in a ruck pass 10 miles. So I appreciate your sharing that we don’t have to ruck extensively to pass. I’ll keep you all posted on my experience.
Royal Marine Commandos who are not Special Forces, at the end of a week of tests including 9 mile speed March Assault and Tarzan course finish of with a over the Moors and Hills 30 mile carrying 35 lb and Rifle in full kit and boots 8 hrs max they are already tired from a week's tests. I wasn't a Royal Marine but they get my respect. I did do the Nymegan March in Holland 25 miles a day for 4:days Lots of Military Units there including the US it a annual event. The Norwegian Forces are very good and that March I take it is the standard one.
Thank you for this! My son is on “vacation” and to keep me feeling close to him I have decided to max my standard for my age. Thank you for your service and your videos! ❤🇺🇸
Anyone else prior service on here go through this way later? I'm wondering if this is like AIT. Just from what im reading, like you have phones, day passes and everything? I was recently selected and in the reserves going to the federal 12 week course in a little over a month.
