hi Trev not a bad price for a pint. I can't remember when I bought a pint of beer last. it must be at least twenty years ago..I remember telling the landlady that it would be the last time she would see me in the pub ..£3.65. for a pint of strongbow..??? sorry but petrol was cheaper than that...at the time. anyway Trev keep yourself safe and well mate.

I am not sure about going that deep, I will test the waters first. I certainly knew about means testing pensioners, after all I am one now, and this could not so much hurt me at the moment, but it will definitely hurt my parents.
@@TrevsTravelsByNarrowboat Trev it will have a devastating effect on every one who is receiving the state pension .. As you be aware of I live in a flat surrounded by pensioners. As soon as the results were announced I could not believe the look of horror on Thier faces ... Many of whom have given what little savings they had to Thier children ..as for myself I have nothing but my state pension.. just like millions of others... My fear is that this could lead to civil unrest in the UK. Especially when they start putting up taxes of people who are already struggling to make ends meet.... To me it's no what labour have said that worries me it's what they haven't said that concerns me.. the most I don't know about how you feel but I can't stand anyone who continually lies.and as it seems people have just voted one of them into number ten. Anyway this is only my opinion.any way I'm looking forward to the live stream mate.it will be interesting to see the questions that people ask of you. Some of them always make me wonder if they are actually listening to what is being said .. how many times have they asked the same question when you have already answered it.??? @wayneharris7534 I am sure over half who voted Labour are too stupid to know what they have done. I am not a believer in the political system anyway. I think the whole thing needs reforming. I have been a Tory all my life but if I could have voted I would have voted Reform. I don't think they are the answer to everything, but the best of the bunch

@@TrevsTravelsByNarrowboat I absolutely agree Dave a decent pub goes along way to solving some of the social issues including mental health, where people can chat, strangers can become friends and communities become closer, as an example l went cutting wood a few weeks ago, and up in the forest l got my trailer bogged, l rang my roadside insurance they said oh we dont cover you in the forest, l rang a couple of towing companies they quoted $1500 to $2000 Aust l thought it only cost me $400 for the trailer, so l thought l will leave it wood and all, feeling sorry for myself l went to my local was chatting and met a stranger he said l can retrieve it for you l said what do you want nothing he said, l said you sure and we ended up settling on if you can get it l will shout you a few beers he went and got it and delivered it to my door....thats what can happen in a real pub and l bet lots of people have similar stories, whether a job, some help or just a chat to stop feeling lonely...rambled enough Trev...but l do like a real pub regards Doc..l do enjoy your videos...
Trev I thought that the grand old duke of York pub had shut down... The last time I visited this place there was two blokes fighting in the car park over a parking space. At the time there was some sort of village fayre going on . strange that people will not look for somewhere else to park. There were empty parking bays in the car park..????? At the time. @@TrevsTravelsByNarrowboat Trev they used to sell real ales in the pub years ago many narrow boaters used to use the pub .. I have spent many a afternoon enjoying a pint there . Over the years. The last time I travelled the canal there it had shut down To be honest I could not see the reason for this as it was always full of the locals..I'm glad to hear that it's open far to many decent pubs have closed the doors .. Along with them closing the people have nowhere to meet up for a chat and a bit of banter... Many times I have witnessed places where the hart of the villager's seems to have been ripped out with the closing down of the local pub... Yet when the pub was open they would stay at home and drink cans from the local supermarket...???? But when they close the pub they moan about it.???
Some nice artifacts in the pub Trev. It's alot easier to film when it's empty ain't it😊👍any other decent cask ales on apart from Tribute which is a steady enough pint..cheers Trev👏

This is a wonderful country, the best in the world as far as I'm concerned.🏴 England has gifted the world so much brilliant things that are far too numerous to list here. I think the haters are ignorant of England's vast contribution to the advancement of civilisation. Without England the whole world would still be in the stone age. That's my two penn'oth anyway. Rob The Lock has helped us a few times, but we never knew his name! He is a lovely chap. The advice about mooring between Westport Lake and Etruria is correct - there is a lot of "business" going on at night on the towpath by moped. We watched this from Longport wharf.

Because of the lack of places to leave the boat...I have just got a notification that someone is using my e mail address...so untill I resolve this . All the best.
Take care and look after yourself. The stoke locks area is a bit suspect, but the canal before and after are wonderful and some of the safest canal cruising in the UK.

The mornings along the stretch of canal in this video have always been poor. . years ago the old canal traders used to put a length of rope between the bottom of trees . And use that to tie up to..if it was to late in the day to move on... right up until the early seventys this method was used in many areas... Today it would not be allowed because of health and safety laws .. were people who walk along the toe paths may trip over the ropes.... Anyway Trev keep yourself safe and well mate. I was a bit confused by this. You said a fisherman found a hand which prompted the police search. If nothing was found then what caused the police to go there looking? Something must have been found initially or police wouldn't have bothered surely.🤔
they keep tapping because people have always fed them from Thier boats... I have met many people who keep bags or corn to feed the swans..and ducks. they should not do this they will get used to people feeding them .. and forget how to find food for themselves... many years ago I had a family of ducks that used to get on the front of the boat every time I started the engine ... people used to ask if they were pets .??? as soon as ducklings were able to fly of they went.. strange . but to be honest the only part I did not like was having to clean up the mess they left.. anyway Trev stay safe and well mate
I know about the feeding bit, they have learned to associate boats with food. I do not normally feed them. I did throw a few crusts in when I filmed that, just to hold them in one place whilst I filmed.
nice one Trev . don't let them ban your right to fly your flag... since I left the canals and moved to my flat ..a few years ago I have. always seen the the Welsh dragon flag flying over the castle that is visible from my home .. sadly this has been removed .i made inquiries about why it has been removed and the reply was they did it because it may cause distress and alarm to someone.????? if this is the case don't come to Wales it's that simple.. they have even stopped flying the union jack .on special occasions because of it might upset someone ..??? but of course if the people who pay rates in the area are distressed and alarmed to see their flags removed ..??? this definitely doesn't matter..w t f ..is going on in this country... to me they are attempting to remove everything that represents the country as being British... so Trev keep flying you flag . keep safe and above all keep well.
I actually wanted to fly the flag, because of all the nonsense. I hope it distresses all of the non-patriots, if they dislike it that much I'll show them the way to the airport so they can **** off.
