I am 69 this month and the only age that bothered me and I didn't want to turn was funny enough 25.🎈Happy birthday. I think the Philodendron Orange Princess is absolutely ugly.
Having worked retail once upon a time, if a sales associate refuses to give a refund, even store credit, always say you require a manager speak with you. If the manager refuses the refund, state that you intend to send a complaint letter (not an email) to their corporate office. And as a point of honor and you have the time (and your city allows it) make yourself a protest sign and carry it on public property. I have seen that work where all else has failed. Also FYI if you pay for something with a twenty and they claim it was only a ten, you can require that they count their drawer! This happened to me once, boy was that sales associate pissed when she had to count her drawer and it turned out that I had indeed paid with a twenty. I could have made her apologize, but it would have been a fake apology, so I didn't bother.
I got my baby ring of fire fron my local nursery two month ago for $14.99. She has given me two new leaves and is growing nicely. Glad I didn't buy it from a big box store during that time period.
That was hard work! Very interesting and I love that you defended everything you did this was the best job I have ever seen just explaining what was happening and not talking bad about everyone-! I’m watching this 8 months late but I remember the event it happened just as I was getting into houseplants! So good job thanks again
Thanks!!! Very helpful. Im about to fly across the US and want to bring a monstera albo to my friend. I've been scared to think TSA might make me get rid of it... but not anymore after seeing this! Thank you.
I started collecting plants last fall. I live in a small place. I have about 60 plants now. But now I feel I don’t want anymore. I’ve reached my saturation point. But there are a few that I just don’t enjoy. I think I will give them away and replace them with ones that I like.
Cache pots need to be stopped! Cache pots are the #1 reason for mass death in plants. The water can’t drain, rotting out the roots. I fault the growers, they placed the plants in these pots….and they should know better, especially if they are growing them in their greenhouses.
Argh…..here we are in South Louisiana, in the subtropics when temps are in the low 90’s with 70% humidity….and they’re shipping tropical plants to Michigan or Utah, and none to us????!?!?? When will this charade stop?
When you said about not taking this time that you tested seriously and not watching it like a hawk like normal I can totally relate to that. I just found out that I was pregnant. During the same thing I have PCOS and I normally stare at it like crazy and this time I just had an extra one and took it and like started getting ready for my shower and stuff and was like oh I should check that and it was a big positive positivesick line which is so wild lol but yeah Yours reminded me of that
My hoya carnosa compacta variegata is happy and growing - but all of it's now leaves are variegated/light pink. Any tips on getting more green leaves? They are watered well, in an airy soil w lots of bark and they get 12 hours of grow light per day.
My guess on what was happening is the plants came in when it was too cold. The greenhouse where they were grown was probably heated. Cross cold weather with employees that don't care and you have a recipe for plant death and incredible waste. I always feel bad because in my eyes plants are still living things and it's giving the energy to grow the least we can do is put forth the effort to give them what they need to thrive. That's like buying a fish that needs a big tank just to put it in a jar because you feel like it. Doesn't make sense to me... Great video I just subbed! Ps. I wrote this comment before the end of the video lol
Wow I'm glad mine didn't have any of those issues! I got mine from my local Walmart for free, they were throwing them away because they didn't have any more room for them.....
Wow, thank you so much! I was already thinking to do a video myself because it seemed like nobody was talking about the ugly side of houseplants in the community.. Thank you so much!
This is my favorite book 😍 I’ve read it twice and really enjoyed your retelling 💕 thank you for making this. Can’t wait to watch the rest of the series.
