@@goldy6772 Yes, she said it was from a video game, and that is the name of the game. The semantic details are too much to get into for an audience that would not understand those details anyway. It is basically the main theme of that game, so she is not entirely wrong. Their sign maker did correctly write “Athletic Theme” beneath it.
Isn't this the ragtime that has another name? ... "Barbecue". I found vintage sheet music on sale. These notes in the paper edition are more than a hundred years old. It's strange, but the author is not written there. There are two names - "Barbecue" and "Mississippi". A very similar rhythm, consisting of "twos" and "rocking". "Deuces" are quarter notes connected by a common line. This is very typical for many ragtimes. A "swing" or "swing bar" is the arrangement of such notes on sheet music. They look like a supporting part of a watch movement. I am not a professional musician, an amateur, so I have the right to make mistakes. And I use more slang expressions used by musicians than professional musical terms. But I'm interested in everything related to it. I am grateful in advance for any information!
I’m 5 years too late but this is amazing! Im learning the song right now (albeit much simpler bc I’m not too great on piano) and it astounds me how talented people are, especially on the third read through!
It's so nostalgic to hear this, and somehow his ragtime theme makes it feel even more nostalgic. Especially the slow "Dun - dudunDun - dudunDun Dun dadaDaDa" part
After 12 years and having even had a nyan cat fixation for a bit in the past (maybe 11 years ago? Jesus), it is only now that I realize Nyan is an actual word with a meaning and not some random thing like Doge.
