i always headcanoned that stacy was bi. there was a scene in a friends forever spinoff book where she was going on and on about how pretty this girl was… lol. and in claudia and the new girl, she had to have had a crush on ashley!!
I am SO happy someone took the time to not only really dig into the history of these, but to have organized & prepared a pretty good cohesive video of the subject for the purpose of sharing for the masses, is something i am so thankful for you to have taken your time and efforts to do! I remember watching my older sister on prep doll makers for HOURS (wishing it was my turn to use the computer already 😅). I really REALLY hope these can somehow be properly saved and archived and revamped to work again at their former glory 😢 the nostalgia HIT so HARD 💔🥹 Honestly though, with the resurgence of 2000s fashion and the entire y2k aesthetic, from the tech to the music to the way in which we enjoyed our entertainment, all making a comeback in todays mainstream - these dolls could be only one viral video or tiktok away from having a MASSIVE comeback in interest and interaction with a whole new generation! There is NOTHING more 2000s than a personalized sparkly gif'd up webpage like xanga full of Preps 😂❤
I always thought that Heather, Erica and others should’ve had a bigger role in schools out, also when you watch it on here it’s like it’s broken up into episodes and not a straight movie
First, queer = condescending straight asshole pretending to be spicy or relevant. Not sure what a straight person with a kink has to do with homosexuality, seems insulting and exploitative to me. Since you made this, so much has happened. What you describe as the “canon” ending, obviously did not turn out to be so, after all. So many more people chose to save Chloe than expected, despite the horrible choice. Dontnod admits to being surprised by this. They did a better job with their characters than they realized. In Before the Storm, we get to see much more of Chloe and Rachel, and a wonderful revisit with Max and Chloe as kids in one of the absolute best episodes of the entire series, “Farewell”. And in Life is Strange 2, we can find out that Max and Chloe are happy, successful, and still together years later. So, your final choice in a video game had an actual consequence in real life. The developers kept Chloe alive because of *you*, or at least presented is as a possibility. “This choice will have consequences” indeed. (Even during the game’s initial release schedule, fan reaction gave Kate an extra scene.) So, yes, the game did bring out the trope, but it did let you choose *NO*. As as many others have argued, Max never killed Arcadia Bay, that was beyond her control, she just saved Chloe. That is, arguably, a morally correct choice, despite all our feelings justifying it anyway. I went on a whole rant on this yesterday, if you want to view my comment history and read more. The story of Max and Chloe is one for the ages. It’s pretty obviously gay, but even if you ignore all the signs and hints and try to play it straight, it’s still wonderful. Of course, now we have a new game coming out, and everyone is excited, but also skeptical. No mention of Chloe. I think this is just smart marketing, holding back the big reveal until later. I hope. Because as everyone should know by now, Life is Strange is about Max and Chloe. Lots of other things too, but always Max and Chloe. If they remembered that, it should be great.
Rick’s downfall was his arrogance, if that was challenged he lashed out. I don’t believe he tried to change he honestly didn’t have consequences for what he did to Terri so why would he change? I mean he got bullied but that just justified in his mind that he was the victim. I do think that something changed when he talked to Paige the final time but before that…he was still his usual self, nothing felt different about how he acted. Then his arrogance returned and he felt he was owed retribution from the people he felt betrayed him. That’s my reading of the situation, I don’t buy that Rick was changed even to the end.
Am I the only person who can’t stand Craig? I don’t want to spoil anything but every Craig centered episode pretty much is him getting into trouble or causing trouble. There’s not an episode where he doesn’t really cause problems for other characters or himself. Unlike other characters he doesn’t get punished as severely for what he does. He goes on to have a singer career and cheating on multiple women with no repercussions whatsoever.
A deep dive on drakes time on degrassi and his early mixtapes/ sleeping on his set after all nighters in the studio making a deal with degrassi security during later seasons his rap success is a motivational story that represents if you believe in yourself you can do anything when he first started rapping he was made the bud of so many jokes due to being “wheelchair Jimmy” he was very much still on degrassi when he first started really pursuing a career in music just a vid on his early rap career or even the story of him sending a Toronto law firm to send James Hurst a letter threatening to leave the show if they don’t write him out the wheelchair I feel like just overall his story is very motivational for a rapper like myself and your channel does great documentary style videos so that would be great content
As a black man my only problem with the shooting storyline now that I’m grown is the writers wrote Jimmy a black man to run while Rick had his eyes closed and was shaking the gun yet a character that’s not black in the very next scene Sean wrestled the gun out the shooter Rick’s hand and killed him the very next episode Sean is a hero maybe I’m looking to deep into it but as someone who grew up on the show that’s one of my critiques as a grown black man
I was a kid in the 80s, and watched Degrassi junior high. I was a teenager in the 90s and watched Degrassi high. Now I’m a high school teacher and I started teaching in the early 2000s so I also saw all of that fashion as well. The way you described it is perfect. It was very normal core.
What’s funny about the episode with Shane … the man that played him hosted a talk show a few years before this episode where he did a degrassi jr high reunion lol 😂 😊
The actor Claude wasn't a punk, he was a goth. And fit fine into the scene at the time, I knew him from the club days. And his boots were standard 6 skull buckle, which loads of people had and probably still have!
I've been on Neocities for a year now, it was my first incentive to start learning html and i then brought my boyfriend into it. We both help eachother's pages during evening calls. I'm really glad i found out about it.
omg i just had a moment of AH HA, so when craig goes to live on the streets and meets skinny that nickname make me think of the choice snake had for his nickname on the show when he was a teen on the og series and could have been either snake or skinny...... I wonder if thats where they got the nickname for that guy on the streets.
Oh how you just made me laugh so hard and happy and have a nostalgic moment with putting that OC classic moment song (later parody by SNL) when Jimmy gets pew pew.... that made me love theses videos so much more..... I'm so glad you did that!!!!!! WHA WHA WHAT DID SHE SAAAAAYYY 🤣I had to keep going back a few second to re hear and see that part in your video, ha such gold! DANG i was hoping for one more mmmmm whatchu day moment with the sean and rick scene, but that would have made me pee my pants laughing.
Also as a Canadian who went through the court system here in Toronto Canada i will say the crown DEFINANTLY doesn't prep you for what you will be questioned or even how court will retrigger you and treat you.... and i went to court in 2022 so i cant even imagine how horrible it was back then.. sadly for my case the gRapist got acquitted. the court system and law for SA needs to change and be better
DAAAAMN crash is really funny and awesome ship name for what ash and craig were BUT also Ellie nash and craig could be CRASH as well is you take her last name.... OH sweet craid and his girl drama..... thanks for making all these degrassi content, over the past few days ive been watching this whole playlist and will have to go back when done and like each videos.. as a Toronto living Canadian you did justice with a lot of the content and work you put into this series and i appreciate you for it.
Dont forget the way we used to save the dolls we made! Watching you on the maker i remembered i would screen shot the whole page, hop into MS paint, (eventually paintshoppro) and crop it then save it 😂. Just a small detail that came back to memory. Since if you tried to right click and save it, it would just save the head or a body part since they were seperate images. What was that gif maker program named? I remember making a few blinkies and avatars. And had my own website that had a few things going on with it. I felt so smart to be able to do those basic html codings to make my own website. Started with pixels now were in AI-topia
At the time, seasons were longer and, if a character was involved in another project or movie, sick in the hospital was a way of writing them out of most of the season while giving them the option of later returning full time, if they wished to. If all the scenes involved just the two characters, it was likely filmed all at once, and then pieces were added to various episodes. The next season, the person either died or made a miraculous recovery.
Degrassi School's Out is hands down my favorite movie of all time. Just as you said Kat, the movie mimics a realistic version of that timeline before university and after high school. I remember having the minivan to myself, hot summer nights, mid-July when him and I were forever wild, doing typical teenager things just like main cast was doing, minus the love triangle lol. I reminisce about my high school crush as a teenager/young adult but can't stand him now knowing better 😂 Also there is that impactful realization that everybody is moving on and doing their own thing, even after years of being in school together. Joey of course feels like everyone is moving on, as his peers were academically and professionally secure in their future to be ready to move on. It's a wonderful movie, very raw and real. Almost seems like it happened in real life too
