I've just scarified and power raked my lawn, and laid down the grass seed. Should I put fertilizer down and if so what type? And, should I put it down before I throw top soil on to the seed, or after? Thanks
@@SnoopyReads That's not precisely what I wrote. I assume HE could achieve the same result for free. Money (being paid for doing something) doesn't make the difference on how skilled you're. Therefore the only word left that is related to money is professional here, not quality neither look? A professional is someone getting paid for some kind of activity then. But is every professional skilled? And who decides what's realised qualitative or not? This seems to be a very empirical & presumptuous allegation. And finally what's a look? Is it judging something only on appearances or aspects and leading to grant superficiality some sort of pompous & futile consideration. Landscaping is just a bubble concept for some kind of new age ideology...
On the right side of the lawn your murdering the lawn... you not supposed to run your machine backwards and sideways.. forward motion... 😮😮😮😮😮 😊NE DIRACTION.... THUMBS 👍🏻 enjoyed your video 😊
You dripped the oul on the deck when you started. Ive used this product a lot and that will show cause you cant even it out plus you were standing on parts youd just oiled. Wouldnt want to see that close up.

I would have ugly mushrooms all over my yard in the morning and they'd be gone by noon and pop the next morning. After doing some research, I bought a bottle of dawn dish soap that comes in that spray bottle and one morning I sprayed directly on top of the mushrooms that were growing in my yard and it killed them within minutes. The next morning no mushrooms!! The soap did not harm my Palisade Zoysia neither.
I wish my experience was as pleasant as that seemed to be. Just spent six hours doing our small back garden and it’s nearly killed me. It’s a new build, with really rubbish clayey soil. We’ve been here about eight years and 2 years ago I scarified, over seeded and added top soil but it made very little improvement so I lost heart and have just kept mowing and weeding but the thatch and moss have overwhelmed the grass and it’s like walking on a big sponge in places, so I decided on the one decent day of weather we’ve had all year to give it another go. I have a Vonhaus electric scarifier and it’s not the greatest but all I could afford at the time and it does a decentish job. Gave it four passes and raked it up and while there was a lot to collect and bag up it was fine. Now one thing I was told is that when you’ve scarified, you really need to aerate the lawn to help with the seeds setting and water getting into the soil, but do I have an aerator..do I hell. So it was the garden fork……..im telling you now if there is a hell one of the punishments is to fork a lawn for eternity, cos that what this felt like. Two hours it took me to create what must have been 15000 holes. I’m not an old man but sat here on the settee I feel it. Every part of my body aches. My Fitbit tells me I’ve done 25000 steps and burned 4600 calories. I’m sat watching some nonsense on the tele and Match of the Day is on but I can’t bear to move to get the remote to change the channel. When I finally overseeded, put on the top soil (£2.50 a bag on offer at Wickes at the moment down from £4.00) and watered I was in such a state of delirium I collapsed into a chair. So the moral of this story is, if you’re thinking of buying a Scarifier…..get one with an aerator. You’ll thank me I promise.
Hi mate, I really wish you had reviewed the lawn lute you sell on your website. Hard to purchase something without video reviews these days, especially considering you could have used it in a number of your own videos as it's your own product.
Hi mate only just got it in stock about 3 weeks ago. I've been testing loads of products and this one and blows everything I've tested out the water. I can guarantee you wont be disappointed!
@@GardenLawncareGuy So are you saying it's better than the Landzie one in your videos which appears to be the gold standard? Also if I order today when can I realistically recieve it (England)?
@@GardenLawncareGuy Hi mate, just ordered it through B&Q, hoping you can make the delivery next day or earlier than the Thurs-Friday it says on there, cheers.
3:09 Greetings from the States. I'm all about watching them Brits do their thing with lawn renovations. In US, it's all about that 100% kentucky bluegrass or perennial ryegrass... What's the deal with Brits using leftover grass seeds? I mean, those seed mixes usually got some whack-ass grass breeds in 'em. The only decent thing I see in that mix is the ryegrass. Try rolling with 100% perennial ryegrass seed, man. You won't believe how dope your lawn gonna look, especially when you pair it up with some top-notch fertilizers. Trust me, you gonna be blown away!
Do you recommend germinating seeds, soaking for a few (5-7) days, in lower Fairfield county Connecticut ? Will have to mix the damp germinated soil with dry ingredients...use Peat moss? Fertilizer? Please advise. I have a very bumpy, un-level side lawn as had to dig up yard to install water draining Cultech systems. So, will order about 20 yards of topsoil...I have about 5500 square feet of lawn/yard area that I will resoil and reseed. Further, any need to mix in sand? Lots of rocks, both big and small, in yard....Connecticut tings' 😊 Thanks.
Hi. I bought some Clay King seed mix thinking this is what I needed to help drainage however I have improved the drainage in the garden and now wondering if I should have bought a different seed? I want a nice thick lawn so should I switch it to a different seed?
Hello no grass seed will improve the drainage or root causes for drainage. If you have improved the drainage of the area then clay king will be ideal and is a great mix 👍
Thanks for the reply. Beginning of the year I was very new to this and have started to renovate my lawn. I have been improving drainage and overall lawn with sports sand mix, building it up and airing, just wondering if the clay king mix will give a thick lush lawn or if I should switch to a more Rye grass based product.. thanks for the advice
I also have a very clay based garden and I struggle to get a normal fork deep enough normally. I also have a screwfix scarifier that I use at least once a year. Do you use any soil improver like Gypsum to break down your clay? I do use your wetting agent, seaweed, and green machine products but interested on if you think any additional products or work is necessary for clay based lawns?
