I am a registered respiratory therapist and a certified asthma educator. I run a successful Pulmonary Rehabilitation Clinic that started many years ago.
Thanks, this is very helpful and informative. Great information from a credible professional, really good presentation style, flip chart is very helpful, just the right level of depth, not too long, not too short. Using a lapel mic should help with sound quality, but the most important thing is the information you provided, which is outstanding.
I'm a post-op patient, and I also suffer from episodes of SOB. So I was very happy when I received this spirometer. I will be exercising my lungs on a daily basis. This video was very helpful. Thank you so much!!❤
The ketogenic diet has *drastically* improved my COPD. Before keto I could only walk 100yards without stopping. I can now walk MILES without getting breathless. Thousands of people are getting the same results. Instead of focusing of symptom control, why not remove the inflammation altogether - Keto does that.
It looks easy to use that acapella except that the blue one seems hard to open or how we are going to put the medicine in that devise. we bought the blue one and we cannot use it because there is no clear explanation on how to use it.
This is not something that you would put medication into. This is an instrument/tool to help break up mucus and strengthen your lungs. The same with the blue one.
Hi, my husband bought me a handheld nebuliser/inhaler machine. And I was thinking of making a mullein tea and letting it go cold and put some in the little machine! Would that be safe to do? I hope you can understand what I mean. I have COPD.
Hi, I’m sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I would recommend going to my channel and practice the breathing exercises, the pulmonary rehab exercises, and the pulmonary education.
Hi, with anything specific I recommend doing a trial where you cut it completely out for 3 months, the. Add it back and see if you notice any difference.
@@BreatheBetterwithElizabeth ok thanks. I wasn't sure if it had anything to do with pasteurization. Lots of people are not good with pasteurized milk but then they are doing well with raw milk.
@@BreatheBetterwithElizabeth I messaged u on instagram I have a question unless it’s easier to ask here ? I do have costochondritis so it’s very hard to tell for me
The bathrobe is a good idea, having lots of trouble drying off and getting dressed after. I unfortunately have gone to rather cold showers, my son's suggestion because I've always taken boilling hot ones and that wasn't working anymore, I bought a bath chair and leave the door open and now I do the body one day and the hair another, I've given up on showering every day, any other ideas are welcome, I've tried taking ventolin before but no real difference. ( COPD)
I was told to use a spacer because of not being able to hold my breath, to breathe in and out with the spacer to get more medicine. It was also to lower risk of yeast infection in the mouth with certain medications which is also why rincing is recommended ( COPD)
Love your videos, I’m 3 months out from right lower lobe lobectomy where my intercostal nerves were frozen for pain control but oh boy, the numbness is so distressing and makes taking a very deep breath difficult but I keep doing the breathing exercises!
With your books which I read daily, and your videos, my breathing has really improved. Especially the exercise ones I find watching somebody do something is the easiest way to learn. The importance of a spacer I think was the most important. Thank you so much for all your work you do for us.
I have been finding your videos very helpful as I try to improve my respiratory health.... I have COPD and lung cancer and before chemotherapy I was dependent on oxygen and was very ill.... I seldom use oxygen now and I gained the weight I lost, I am generally better now... as you suggested I have committed to doing more.... Thank you for sharing your knowledge as it has helped me greatly!
I just want to thank you for all of your videos. I may share my story with you sometime but for now, please know, you have made a huge difference in my life. Thank you!
I have just gone through this video in search of hope like breathing normally as I am going through Lung GVHD after Bone Marrow Tranplant..Using oxygen concentation ..having shortness of breath..just want to have normal breath..Practised it for the first time..Hoping for the best for myself and for all here..Thank you..
I watched the video showing how to use the rescue inhaler and the nebulizer. I have what they call moderate COPD. My doc has never recommended the nebulizer, and didn't tell me about the chamber attachment for the inhaler, I saw it on the internet and just got one on amazon. I do OK most of the time, but now that summer has come, I think I won't do as well. I had two exacerbations last summer (I didn't know that's what they were--I thought I was just having a harder time breathing). I complained bitterly to the doc later at my regular appointment, how really bad it was to have to not be sure I'd get the next breath, and he gave me an antibiotic and a steroid and told me to use them right away as soon as I felt that way again. I hope I don't. I listened to this podcast, will hydrate more, I already subscribe to an air quality report for our area, and I got a fan that goes around the neck when I work in my garden. I also do a water aerobics class three times a week. I'm wondering if I should message the doc about a nebulizer, though. I don't want to go through an exacerbation and I equally don't want to go to the hospital. I'm claustrophobic and terrified of the thought of an intubation. Thanks for all you do for us with COPD and sorry to complain so much.
It’s a difference in the delivery of the medication. This video shows the difference! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VheqfkL7AA0.htmlsi=inlJ4uIZq0wP2zuq
For being in dry, hot climates: I've tried a few cool mist humidifiers from Amazon, but none really worked to moisten the air. Any product recommendations?
