Amazing that the Rikenon is better at f8 than BOTH a Pentax M AND a Minolta MD, both of those lenses have very good reputations. I'm guessing this Rikenon XR was probably produced by Tomioka but I doubt anybody really knows. Thanks!
Man, that's a real bummer, but you made the right decision. Too bad there wasn't a bike shop along the way that could fix your bike. Next time you'll be even more prepared.
Thanks for watching, the original plan was to rent a good bike, but none were available that week. So I ended up with this bike that I borrowed from a friend, only this bike had not been used for 4 years so it wasn't in the best condition.
What beautiful scenery over there ohjajohh, and from the bits I saw, it looks quite bike friendly too, much less of the getting squished feeling I get on the roads in the UK. Pity about the rear wheel friction problem - things like that not only zap your energy, but also your enthusiasm - maybe next time........
The scenery and bike paths were beautiful indeed. Yeah the rear wheel friction really took away both my energy and enthusiasm. I had no tools (nor knowledge) to fix it, so I decided to give up. I'll probably do this trip again another time on a better bike.
When I made that video I didn't have the Pancolar yet. But I've bought a Pancolar and it's really a great lens indeed. I will probably make a video about it somewhere later this year.
Very cool test (nice framing, great colors). I have a smc tak 50mm f1.4 a'd some Pentax 28mm and 135mm) but i'm thinking to sell the tak to only have pentax (and easier workflow with adapters and filters and colorgrafing) ; i'mvery impressed with that pentax m. Great job!!!
Thank You for sharing. I'm in vintage lenses, and this test is awesome. I have both, my favorite is the Preston ;) (night pics in your vid are amazing, stars on the bulbs are so sharp on the Preston. I like also the "hexagonal" bokeh on the flowers... :) Greetings from Belgium.
In 2019 I bought Ricoh XR 7 with Rikenon XR 50 f2.0. I sold it because my pentax smc m 50mm f.1.4 have better image quality and far better build quality (is awesome made). I read that Rikenon XR 55 mm f1.2 is better that Pentax 50mm 1.2 but I don't test it yet.
All this bullshit about build quality in the plastic fd lenses but they are 40 ot more years and still work perfectly...nobody complains about modern lenses being plastic but they are. And if we talk about the image honestly the contrast in thr pentax is very weak. This stupid world of youtube where once somebody start saying something it becomes really and everybody repeats the same.. "infamous fd mount" it is just a different type of design that was good enough for professional for many years and will the same reliability than any other brand. Fan boys, fanboys and more fanboys. I used Canon fd for film and nikon for digital and film, super takumar for digital, mamiya fot film...it all comes down to character of the image and your needs
Had one for a while, incredible bokeh, sharp as a tack wide open in the center and has loads of character. Well worth what you pay for them if you're a creative shooter. Straight shots have a very odd and distinctive look to them, one thats hard to describe but desirable. Be sure to CLA them though, they're well known for having Haze and loads of dust on the inner element surfaces. Once clean they're SHARP.
You probably already know, but the lens shouldn't be loose in the case. You should put the camera on the lens and stick it in its place right under the case handle (at the bottom in this video), then screw it down with the knob that's under the leather handle. The camera will then safely rest against the leather pads in the bottom and lid of the case.
This is the best lens comparison format that I've seen. Both informative but also very pleasing presentation.Great transitions, fantastic graphics texts etc. And the close ups 😍. At the end I forgot what I was watching, I was mesmerized by the lens details. Talent shines whatever the subject may be, well done !👏👏👏
Very beautiful city looks so delicious seafood 🍲🐙🦀awesome music 🎶 very beautiful photos Thanks for sharing my dear friend have a wonderful time 🥰🍁🍂🍂 really enjoyed watching the end 7:35
I just bought a Pallas 200mm f3.5 (for just 13 euros), which seems exactly the same lens. It's quite heavy, but I absolutely love the sharpness, the colours and the smoothness of the focus ring.
