Dude I’m like 26, and apparently my reaction time is worse than a 18 year old, yet I can still react to di, because I did drills for that shit on release. I knew everyone would be spamming that shit in the low ranks. Now I’m stuck at 1600mr 😭😭😭😭
I got a friend to play GBVSR together, being a complete noob myself. He had prior experience with SF, but that was a very long time ago, so we should have been on the same level, more or less. Except... He likes cats, psychos and summoner playstyle. Guess what happened.
Yo if you don't like putting those masks on your face and relaxing then I'm a little bewildered. If I did facecam you'd see me wearing one deadpan while getting bodied or bodying people. Can't recommend them enough.
Something I learned getting into fighting games when others of my friends have dropped off is: fighting games you choose to love. It takes time and commitment to be decent. Keep it fun for beginners, but look for those with a truly competitive and learning mentality to really invest in
3:06 I feel like I’ve learned all that I can when the barrier between having fun and playing at a higher level is gone. Not to say that’s where it ends, but that I feel happy with where I’m at.
My younger brother used to play as a kid, but refuses to play fighting games, thing is, he is decent. He was taking over for me in ranked play in diamond, he almost had the guy beat, he was just dping every time….he just tells me he can’t be bothered to learn combos, he just wants to play.
As someone who got brought into fighting games cause of a friend I highly recommend finding a game that is very simple to learn and aligns with their interests. I was already a big GBF fan and I had tried playing GG Strive before and just didn't vibe with it so I thought I wouldn't like FGs. I gave it a try anyway because why not and now I'm really liking the grind of getting better. You can't exactly expect someone to like the samethings you do but if you can get them to take interest through something you know they like it can definitely help. I wasnt interested in Tekken either but then I got sent some tracks from the OST and now I'm trying to learn that too lmao
One thing you should do at the very least though is switch characters whenever you are winning lol, I did this with GGs for a friend and have learnt like 12 different characters before my friend got decent at the game. Basically let them learn on their own (until they ask) and try to have fun by tilting the odds in their favor. Checking dustloop or labbing combos for less than a minute will probably make you even to someone 200 hours in a fighting game so do your best not to do that all. At the end of the day though Diaphone is right, its just better to play with people already into the genre.
Also rashid mu is 100% in favour of aki. rashid cannot anti air aki consistently, you can see in the gachikun game when you exclaimed “no anti air” it was actually heavy mixer getting beat. Cruel fate also beats all rashid non drive spending anti air options. Ex slide invalidates so many level 2 setups and the rashid can only realistically walk behind the tornado and wait to throw you to counter the slide. Aki can also counter alot of activations with her own level 2. Rashid also cannot throw fireballs in this mu because it’s so easy for aki to counter. Rashid is a very weak base character without level 2 and aki is literally the character in the game with the easiest time dealing with ysar. Rashid can do nothing about fireball drive rush from aki and doesn’t even have a normal to check aki drive rush consistently. If you’re losing to rashid as aki you just don’t know the matchup and it’s your own fault
Huh how would you kara cancel jab into parry? Wouldn’t you just get an empty light cancel into drive rush instead and lose 3 bars and get hit by the super anyways?
This is honestly after it already cleaned up a lot for streams and whatnot. All the craziest shit was from the early SF2 days. It wasn't just being people being toxic back then, it was a lot of actual fights. It didn't matter if they were almost 10 years older than you, dudes would push you off the machine or wait outside for you if you threw them too many times A lot of pizza places and convenience stores in my area actually ended up getting rid of the SF2/MK cabs because they were causing too many fights.
No idom wasn’t talking about balance he was talking about the community. He’s saying that certain communities encourage bad habits by defending it as “fun”. So he’s saying it’s like if your kid is constantly shitting himself, and someone else comes in and calls you a “toxic over-competitive parent” for wanting to correct your kids bad habit. I love these match analysis videos though haha
I remember when this character *first came out and I watched punk play it day one and I was just watching it in the most confused manor possible, I might just be dumb but it’s really interesting to the the character in high level
I haven’t stopped playing her lol I’m usually a dude who mains a character til a new dlc comes out just to get my moneys worth but I refuse to stop playing her
