very beautiful to watch for sure. I'm into Aikido and Kali and I see a similarity to them in as the swords appear to be very similar to the Bokken in Aikido and the movements seem very similar to Kali. Could just be me projecting what I know on to it but we all perceive unknown things in a way we understand and know, it is how we integrate our unknown to our known.
No, you're not wrong. The wooden Daab are being used to perform a "watershed" parry, then come back around to cut into the opening. The thing is, it's really closer to Nito-ryu technique, with a sword in each hand. As one strikes, the other loads up.
Hi! Kali + Silat = many faces but one root of the big family from the Southeast Asia weaponry systems (Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia, South Thailand...)
indianfighter33 Plenty of people study many forms of martial arts. Should each art be restricted to the country, and people, of it's origin? The masters in this video have opened their art up to anyone willing to pay both money and respect. They make a living and get to pass on their knowledge. This is the goal of most Martial Arts Masters that I know. What makes this so disgusting according to your personal opinion?
christhefishhunter By putting your whole body behind a strike you can get more momentum and have a heavier hit. That is the only reason I can think of in terms of the attack. When considering defense it may allow you to check your surroundings quickly for additional attackers. Without studying the art I cannot say for certain, but by studying other martial arts I do know that if the master does it you can be pretty sure there is a reason behind the motion.
Jacky Woowoo yeah but you should never put more energy then you need to especially when it leaves you wide open. This isn't Hollywood where you kill with one hit that's a bullshit fantasy.
Cap America well then tell those special forces around the world who trained by this FMA to shift to wing chun in actual battle let´s see what will happen...
