Most owners do not balance these small tires. Once they are statically balanced, they're good enough. Maybe there's a way to do a dynamic balance, but I am not aware of one.
I can't believe it! This video was 7 years ago and yet this is the exact Question that was on my midterm test last week! OK, maybe not.. but my mind is still blown. I have never seen anything quite like this. And I can tell you now, I'm a believer and it's all going on my resume :) Seriously, that was dazZling. 500 points awarded. Cheers from So.Ca.USA 3rd House On the Left (but call before you stop by:)
@@MartyMitchell92660 Green house with a white picket fence? Somebody is a Little House on the Prairie fan Actually, that is correct except the picket fence is actually chain link. If you swing by you'll have to let yourself in the gate. My ankle bracelet doesn't receive at that distance But serously, glad after ~7 yrs & Covid "we" are still around to have this virtual conversation. And even "the morning after" I'm still enamored with your Balance-Offset-Ratio-Gravit process aka the "BORG" and can't wait to upsize it to a adult tire (no disrespect). Thank you for the kind words. Live long and prosper Capt Mitchell 🖖
Nice adventure with the family How much did you spend in gas from Long Beach ca to Catalina island ??? I’m planning to go with my family to an adventure too
Consider rotating hub in tire in attempt to reduce unbalance, thus adding less correction weigh and reducing dynamic unbalance. Also, equal weights on both sides of wheel (as possible) will reduce dynamic unbalance.
Yes on rotating hub (wheel), no on inside weights. The brake disc takes up that space. Less weight added is much better. This tire/wheel combo was really far out of balance. It would be worth the short amount of time to experiment with different clocking.
@@MartyMitchell92660 Well now… there you go. I really like your video and found it exactly what RU-vid is all about. Thank you for taking the time to record it and post it.
Cracked mine doing donuts in the snow this last winter. Haven't removed the cylinder head yet but the valve head doesnt look bad. I lost a fuck ton of coolant on the initial issue. Caught the firewall on fire as well from where it was sagging onto the hot exhaust. Very unfortunate. Probably will just dirby the m52 at this point im not sure if its worth even trying to salvage. Although i dont know how bad the crack itself is. I do know it wont overheat in idle though. Only tries to overheat when i get it out and get on it. Chassis has rust so i wasnt that pressed. What do you think i cracked?
Sounds like a cracked cylinder head to me. I bought an aftermarket one for $1700 and paid a shop about $2300 in labor to install it. Might not be worth it on your rusty car. Likely cheaper ways to get 'er fixed but might take some work on your part. A good diagnosis might be in order first though.
@MartyMitchell92660 im gonna compression test it and run the scanner on it. If its toast, im gonna just completely part it out. Cams from the m52 are still really pretty, has a cooling overhaul from ecs tuning, the whole 9 yards with that belts. Therm, housing pulley, water pump. I flipped the car and the a pillars buckled. So i decided i was gonna just have fun in it and i should have done a gasket job. She just hit 170k. Got some frenched depo headlights on it if interested! Lol yellow high beam and yellow low beams the rare ones.
@@MartyMitchell92660 The suckiest part about the whole situation is.I just bought a whole front and suspension kit from f c p euro. I kind of want to keep all the stuff and just buy another one.But the market for them is outrageous right now.I don't know what part of America you live in.But it's getting ridiculous for just base models
Jun 4, 2017 - Anytime the weather forecast is for smooth sea conditions, it's a good time to go. Check the internet for San Pedro Wave Prediction. Good luck and enjoy!
LOL. Great answer, and good thinking Santa. BTW your videos w/the SeaRay have given me confidence to take my bowrider out on the bays here in SD (it mostly lives its life up there at Lake Arrowhead).
@@chrisinsd4590 A little salt water should hurt the boat much if you rinse the engine well (15-20 minutes). The trailer will take a beating though. Enjoy!
Great video, I like the music, reminds me of Proleter music. Planning on putting the HD leafs on my 2000 S10 2WD so just getting a head start before they get delivered tomorrow Feb 5. I dont think it should be that bad since i already rebuilt the whole suspension front to back in October 2023. I carry a lot of weight in my truck with a 300 pound generator i bolted down in the bed and also i have my cross toolbox with 1 side toolbox. I also put a tow hitch from curt on it and I plan to tow when that new harbor freight trailer 5x10 comes out. Thank you again for the video. Ill make a video of it when I'm done.
Good luck with the install. It was pretty straight forward. Should be easy for you since you've already replaced just about everything. As I recall, it was important to torque everything down once weight was put back on it. Enjoy!
@@MartyMitchell92660 Absolutely agree. I'm only of those people who use blue loctite just in case but that's because back in the day I had a brake caliper bracket bolt fall out and when i would come to a stop, the whole brake caliper and bracket would slide upwards and it grinded some good grooves on the inside of my wheels so it was a lesson learned on my part haha
3:09 that balloon is the same color as Robbie Rotten's outfit 4:14 the red and white balloon which is far away looks like a big lollipop, it would be Ziggy's favorite balloon 4:58 what happened there? 5:37 I see a blue balloon for Sportacus I couldn't find balloons for the other Lazy Town characters
I was at my wits end after wasting 2 hours trying to balance one of my tires. Looking at several internet videos I came upon yours. It made since and was easy to follow. I purchased a postal scale from Office Depot and gave your procedure. I had great joy watching the wheel spin with no low side. Thank you for posting the video. I’ll tell my friends.
I'm based at John Wayne KSNA. Sounds like a good plan. You'll be able to get a Catalina checkout from your instructor, something many flight school require prior to sending you there solo. Be advised the landing fee keeps going up, so be prepared with a wad of cash. Good luck and enjoy your flight.
Hey! I’m thinking about also flying my instructor to Catalina for my dual cross country next week. Departing from Riverside. Piper Archer. Any suggestions?
LOL - around 2:45 he says - it's smoking hot today, gonna be around 85 degrees on the island. Yeah, so - I live in N. Texas, it's just now rolling into August 2023 and it has been around 104 degree highs for over a week now. Globally, hottest year on record. How things change.
If you are going to replace the RTABs, avoid the OEM replacements, go with a Monoball from Bimmerworld or Turner. They will last longer and have less play in them.
Very sweet F33A! I'm currently looking for an F33 or V35B so I'm curious about yours; it looks to be in great condition. If you could help me out with a couple of questions, I would really appreciate your advice. 1) The seats don't look like stock Beechcraft; did you have the interior re-done? If so, where and, if you don't mind, what was the cost? 2) Do you mainly fly IFR or VFR? 3) Any advice for a soon-to-be novice Bonanza owner? Thanks! I'll check back in a week or two (today is 6/18/2023).
Hi Bob. Good choice on wanting to find a nice Bonanza. The seats are stock but have been re-covered with new leather. Cost now-a-days might be around 6-9K if you're lucky. I can share the shop with you privately, but not here. I fly both IFR and VFR, proficient in both here in the LA Basin. She's a great platform for IFR. Almost keeps up with jets during approaches. I would buy a 1970 or later if it were me. I would also try to find one with the large baggage door. IO-520 or IO-550 both work fine, I like the IO-550 better. Really turns it into a sporty plane. Not sure what you have been flying, but the Bonanza is a fast bird that required you stay ahead of it. Get lots of practice and some training if you're new to high performance. Join all the Bonanza forums on Facebook. Lots of planes are offered for sale there. Good luck!
@@MartyMitchell92660 Thanks, Marty, especially for the Facebook tip. I'm not much of a social media guy. I've flown mainly Mooney M20J & K in high performance; they both require the pilot to stay way ahead of the airplane and have a few quirks, as I've learned that Bonanza's also do, but Mooneys don't have prop clearance for grass or even mildly rough runways, so the Bonanza is my next ride. I'll contact you for the interior shop info if I find an airplane that needs help in that area.
That’s really fantastic. I’m flying VFR on FS2020 and having so much fun discovering the world. I’m saving to get my PPL. The approach to Catalina is beautiful. Greetings from NZWN Wellington, New Zealand
