Here are 10 facts/hidden details about the Chinese animation (Dongman 动漫) Heaven Official's Blessing (天官赐福) that you might not know.
Heaven Official's Blessing was my first BL animation/novel that I came across. If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend it. The novel is written by the same author, Mo Xiang Tong Chou (墨香铜臭）, who wrote Mo Dao Zu Shi or The Untamed. It is a much longer novel than Mo Dao Zu Shi and pretty satisfying to read.

I think the reason that hua cheng is so lucky is because when xielian ascended for the second time jun wu took away all his luck and gave it to his believers and hua cheng was his only believer. So all of xie lian's luck is given to hua cheng :)

Ironically, in Xie Lian and Hua Cheng first life, Hua Cheng was born under a bad star, so he was stuck with extremes: aka very unlucky, like his mother dying when Hua Cheng was young. However, upon meeting up with Xie Lian and all the events between the 1st and 2nd ascension, Hua Cheng gained extreme luck to the point that he consistently wins at gambling.

Another fact is that hua Cheng hinted that the ring he gave xie lian is actually hua Chengs ashes, turned into a ring. In the novel, hua cheng says that his ashes are in a very special place and that if that place were to be destroyed then he would have no reason to live. What else would hua cheng live for other then xie lian? Of course this is just what I think but I’m pretty sure it’s cannon

hua cheng didn't lost his eyesight when he was a kid. he cover it up becoz he has heterochromia. that is also one reason why he always feels insecure about his appearance. he felt that he is ugly. he lost his right eye when he made e'ming

Hua Cheng's right eye has the colour red from birth, people thought his eye bring misfortune and ridiculed him for that, that's why he hated that eye and always covered it up He freaked out when Xie Lian and Feng Xin try to check his eye because he thought that they would also hate him for the colour of his eye

just a clear up,, but it's clarified it the novel that mu qing and feng xin (fu yao and nan feng) weren't afraid to fight hua cheng but simply weren't interested in this duel thingy :)

I'm going to add something. Feng Xin wanders in human realm possibly because he is searching for his wife (and Xie Lian). Just my opinion though. Also I think the 33 gods Hua Cheng offended were the gods who mocked Xie Lian before.

feng xin didnt know that his wife and child had become ghosts, so he couldn't have been looking for them. you're right about the 2nd part though. hua cheng was there when the 33 gods (not including mu qing) humiliated xie lian, and as soon as he was powerful enough be challenged them as revenge on xie lian's behalf

When Hua Cheng came for the bride( thats Xie Lian ), that is where they got married, and when they met in the thing..(I dont know what it is called, forgive me.) He wanted Xie Lian to call him "San Lang," and San Lang means husband, and the reason why he did that is because they are already married. Its sad how Xie Lian didnt know that they are married. Oh, yeah the "Ring" too.

another fact is that hua cheng carved his eyes out and made e'ming to save a group of humans that were stuck in mount tong'lu, and needed a weapon carved with blood for that. hua cheng isn't the type that would care and sacrifice himself for anyone (except xie lian) so why do that ? well it has always been xie lian's wish and drive to save everyone, so wasn't hua cheng following his wish to "protect the common people" by doing this ? and this is what got him to ascend to heaven !

Hua Cheng plucked out his eye to forged a sword (now his cursed scimitar E-Ming) at Mt Taicang to protect the humans who got lost and trapped at the mountain from other ghosts. He didn't lost his sight in his right eye at his birth but after he became a ghost.

Actually, Xie Lian couldn't die without a believer, because the banishment depends on Jun Wu. And Xie Lian got a immortal body, while Pei Su got a mortal body.

All those 33 gods that Hua Cheng challenged and burned temples of slowly vanished (more like died) because they had no believers left and they were gods too had immortal bodies too. so the part about Xie Lian staying alive for 800 years without a single believer doesn't make sense. Even if he is banished god or a heavenly god he needs followers to keep living and Hua Cheng being a devoted believer made it possible for Xie Lian to ascend once again.

the biggest hint fu yao gave in number 7 are the words "there's something wrong in my palace?" though non verbatim, but you get it. fu yao is only a junior official (?) on what grounds should he call mu qing's palace his?

HC did go to the Heavens to challenge certain gods. I don't want to spoil! Let's just say that if the gods want to do something on the earthly realm they have to appeal to HC first making him stronger than a god and feared by gods. Read the book if you want to know more. HC only wanted to follow one god so he had no use for the Heavens or the gods. I'm curious in the novel where HC ascended - unless MXTX in the blog post.

It was right after he turned his right eye into E Ming Blade. He was protecting people who ventured into TongLu mountain during the cultivation of the new ghost king. He protected them from other demons and thus ascended. But he jumped down like asap 🤣

I can't read chinese haha so I'm wondering if its like a clever play on words with the chinese words rhyming or sounding the same that doesn't cross over into english Like for example is the "wanders at night" part close to "kidnap" in chinese? Or is it just completely a new nickname with no pun/correlation to the original words ? (I hope that makes sense haha)

@@Kictor The alternate names don't have any connection to the original titles except for the first two words. For example, 青灯夜游 (Qing Deng Ye You) or The Green Light that Wanders and his alternate title: 青灯拐卖 (Qing Deng Guai Mai) or The Green Light that Kidnaps. The only similarities are the first two words which are "Green Light". These names are in a four word pattern/phrase/idiom? that is popular among titles in Chinese. Titles in Chinese is mostly about how it sounds when you say it. If it sounds good, then it'll be used. If it doesn't, people will usually come up with another catchy title. They usually describe the person the title is entitled to or describes a certain scene that is connected to the person. Hope that helps :)

I didn’t read the novel but I read the manhua. In the manhua, it didn’t show Xie Lian catching Hua Cheng when Hua Cheng was a child. I was just wondering if that was in the novel or did the anime series improvised? Or maybe the manhua just haven’t gotten to that part yet since it’s still ongoing lol

As a novel reader idk if this counts as a spoiler (?) but the reason he fell was because he originally intended to throw himself off one of the high balconies to die, but when he saw Xie Lian he was so enchanted by his beauty that he didn’t want to ruin his performance, but he slipped and fell bc he forgot about everything apart from Xie Lian

Yep that’s almost right, Xie Lian actually said that later in the novel after meeting little Hong-er, he found him sleeping in one of his shrines searching for help, and even tho he’d already been saved by Xie Lian he thought he’d been forgotten, when he asked himself why he should keep living Xie Lian said he would take him as his meaning for life, which he did, I hope that makes sense-

And if I remember correctly I think it took Xie Lian a while to realise who Hua Cheng actually was and didn’t realise the ring was his ashes as in I think the end of book 4 or start of book 5 he asks if his ashes are in a safe place and Hua Cheng says something along the lines of ‘they are in the safest place I can imagine, and if that place is gone there is no more reason for me to continue living’

Hua Cheng didnt loose his eye at birth. he was born with a red eye and so is bullied and seen a a pillar of unfortune and bad luck which isnt true. He lost his eye on mount tonglu saving a bunch of people who got in there that shoudnt have, this also earned him an ascension which he refused as he saw how bad and corrupted, they were and still had a grudge with the heavens as they mistreated xie lian. To translate it directly, it would be "Blood rain searching for flowers", but chinese can be abstract sometimes, so it's really describing the "feel" or the "mood" or the "imagery". The accurate translation would be something like "Searching for flowers under the rain of blood"

Tian Guan Ci Fu from Donghua is better quality in all aspects than the one from Manhua. Well made, better music, more professional and got the aura of charming even though many people thought that Xia Lian from Manhua looked sweeter (like a woman more than a man and with very thin lips...from their animation.), but every character from Donghua provided balance and excellent combination, the result is like when you're looking at a woman who's pretty and charming. Meanwhile Xia Lian from Manhua looked sweet like a girl but he had no charm. To Ty the Canasian - If you find out more of hidden details about Donghua - Tian Guan Ci Fu, please continue the 2nd part.
