Being from a small town in southern Brazil, Maiara was not exposed to yoga until arriving in Hawaii, her first experience was a 7am hot yoga class in 2012. Right after class she felt invigorated, and couldn’t wait to go back. A few years later, she decided to do her first teacher training at Sun Yoga Hawaii, and really fell in love with the calmness yoga embraces as an overall lifestyle. Loving to teach, she deepened her knowledge at Sun Yoga with a Vinyasa, Children and Senior Yoga Trainings. Continuing her education, in 2018 she completed a 500hrs teacher training with Rupali Embry, cofounder of Yoga Hawaii, one of the first yoga schools in Hawaii. Current, Maiara is taking a 500hrs Ayurveda Training at Open Space Yoga. Joining Maiara’s classes, you’ll experience a blend of asanas and technical alignment, pranayama, mantra, and meditation. She focus the structure of her classes to take students through the 5 Koshas-Sheaths, for them to connect with the Anandamaya Kosha, the bliss body. She loves to see her students getting in tune with their particular and vast energies, allowing experiences on the yoga mat to be taken out into the real world. Maiara believes we all have the answers within us, it’s just a matter of connecting to that energetic source within.
