Tania, nicknamed the “Bandha Queen” by her beloved students, derives joy from sharing her 30+ years studying yogic practices. Many years of competitive triathlon racing, coaching triathletes, yoga, and playing outdoors have given her a unique perspective on the workings of the body and its ability to adapt, heal and thrive at all ages. She was certified as a yoga teacher at Kripalu in 1998, after practicing regularly for 10 years. She started practicing Ashtanga in 2000 and fell in love with the strong practice. Her teachers include Rupali Embry, Nancy Gilgoff, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and Sharath, David and Doug Swenson, Bhavani Maki, and her students.
Her yoga practice is a mix of Kripalu and Ashtanga and her teaching is sourced by both lineages and adapted to the students' ability and needs. Tania has trained over 400 yoga teachers, along with her business partner Rupali Embry. They co-founded Yoga Hawai'i in 1999, selling it 11 years later to focus on their teacher-training programs in Hawai'i and Japan.
