When I did the water pump on my 02 5.3 Silverado, I bought a gates pump and gates thermostat and both of them came with thermostat gaskets and the total price was right around $80.
at 5:45 what's the name of that long plastic piece attached to the air intake? Is it like a sound resonator? i notice a lot of cars have them and it looks like a waste of space.
Yes it's a form of resonator, some toyota products have it as a large box under the bumper cover. It's to eliminate droning sounds at high speeds where rpms are prolonged. Many people have reported removing them to no ill effect and some people say it causes a terrible droning noise at speeds above 45mph when they removed it. Took mine off my old 93 Corolla and noticed no difference.
