69 firebird weirdness of the late 69 bop rear axle 

Yup mine is a early production car it has the vent on the filler neck on the gas tank, all three of my birds have the vent.

First of all I learned about the BOP rear end from this video, while looking for a posi traction unit! Found out nothing Chevy fit's my 69. I have a 8.2-10 bolt. My ring gear bolts were either 5/8 or 11/16. Can't check now but they were right handed. Bolt in axles, no C clip..Sealed axle bearings with inner shaft seal.

Funny how GM had so many different rear ends. Its nice you were able to take advantage of the one warm day lol.

That's right buddy Pontiac has funny way of doing things back in the day but when you think about it a lot of these cars of this Era have a little funny ways to them but believe me it's nothing like a first generation Firebird and you happen to have a really cool one keep plucking away at her
