I feel like these two could end up being good friends. Also I’m glad that they chose two respectful people to do this, they were both understanding of each other but they also expressed their own opinion.
I think the worst are people who eat meat every day but say they could never kill an animal themself. I'm not a hunter myself but I would absolutely do it if I got the chance.
I will say I am a meat eater that couldn’t hunt and kill my own food. If I had the patience to track or sit hours waiting in silence or getting up at like 3am. And wouldn’t more than likely frick up to kill that results in unusable meat. Etc. then I would say yeah I could
We raise sheep, chickens, and rabbits that we kill for food. All there pens and pastures are big enough to where they live a comfortable life until the day they are killed.
loverrlee if people stop hunting deer the amount of accidents caused by them could go up, it will affect the entire animal kingdom if we stopped hunting
these are 2 people that respect each others lifestyles and never once forced their views on the other, while constantly trying to understand each other and i think thats really amazing
I love vegans like Merle who can admit meat taste good but they choose to be vegan because it's the most ethical for animals and it reduces global warming and pollution. These are the vegans who can sway meat-eaters to try going meatless.
Most vegans know that meat tastes good, but some are disgusted by eating animals and that it's why they say that meat is 'bad' and 'disgusting' because of the way how they feel
@@sol-gw6fg no, please just talk for yourself. I remember my 8 year old self refusing to eat any meat because of the taste. I didn't even know that animals had to suffer
@@markuslanz88 that is why I said MOST, also, because there is people that I know that don't like the consistency of meat but like the flavor or vice-versa
I really liked how the women in this video were rlly good sports. Super cool to see two people with vastly different lifestyles being respectful towards each other
@@celiscissorhands3197 How about the underpaid people who sort chics for the crusher? Was funny how in the video she was talking about how they had a "sadistic" point of view yet didn't consider the mental health issues this creates for those working in factory farms.
I think us meat eaters should do something against factory farming and be more responsible about the way we consume meat. As humans we should strive to work together and not against each other.
Ambiguous Sarcasm i’m vegan and i agree (: we don’t need to be mean to anyone just work together and reduce our consumption for the planet and for animals. ❤️❤️
We should. I no longer live near a butcher, and I wish I did. Factory farming is why there is such a bad rap on eating meat. When I would go to the butcher, they were actually friends of ours and we had been to their farm and seen where the meat lives and those animals had a pretty good life
My grandpa hunts but only ever overpopulated animals at places.he said he would never just go and just shoot someone because he tries to help places that need to get rid of animals and still supply for family..
gnällig I’m happy for that too. I just wish they would have found someone who eats meat and is a litttllllleee more respectful of the vegan girl..Like, this was kinda not okay.
@@al.alzarouni6304 im not a hunter but a lot of people in my family are (i live in the south) for the most part you eat a large portion of the animal like a lot more than you would think
I’m not a vegan but I would never kill an animal for sport Edit: just to clarify I mean like if you are gonna eat it or if it’s over populated, than it’s okay
OMG Washington she is not a trophy hunter or sports hunter, she hunts her own meat which is a much more responsible way to eat meat, basically she doesn’t contribute with factory farming
@@LegitParchment Well, I mean I definitely believe everyone has the choice to eat what they want. Also, being vegan doesn't make me a better person. I hate self-righteous boastful vegans, because they act like they are perfect in all aspects. But, that's definitely not the case. People who eat meat are just as much people as we are. We are all human. Like, I just don't get some vegans. Smh. But, yeah. I respect you too, dude. 🥰
I like that they realized they both had a common enemy: factory farming! We can ALL agree on that, yeah? Whether you choose to eat animals or not, can't we all agree it would be best for animals to be treated better????
Fynn Henderson She only brought it up because she was in the video lmao. Why does everyone hate on vegans, I’m not vegan but I definitely support it. You’re practically filling your body with chemicals that people put in animals. Also you don’t know her personally, and probably not any other vegan personally so just mind your business and let her be
Same I've been friends with a vegan for 14+years. I grew up hunting. She has never tried to change me and vice versa. At my wedding I made sure she had food options.
I have a request. May you please put accurate captioning on? Because some times it’s hard to understand for people who of hard of hearing and the deaf community. I know it takes a while but it’s worth it for everyone.
@@bugs1679 I'm aware of the difference between asexual, pansexual, aromantic, and polyameris, I never indicated whatsoever that pan people want to have multiple relationships, and I'm pretty sure I know what asexual is as I am ace myself
@@purplecatloverrandompizza Yes, but I'm still confused as to why a pansexual and an asexual would be handcuffed. It makes no sense. I am pansexual and my best friend is asexual. We have different preferences, yes, but we get along. I don't understand why you would want to see the two stuck together, especially in a series of where two people with different beliefs get stuck together...?
I’m vegetarian but I really love the “hunter” girl. I think they’re both really open minded and even though she eats meat, they don’t waste, they kill as humanely as possible and I think that’s the best scenario for someone who consumes meat. She respects the animals and fights against the factory farming which is awesome!
No offense, but it’s not humane to kill in general whether you hunt your own meat or by it at your local market. Not eating any animal products is considered humane. Plus, killing an animal who wants to live isn’t classified as respect. The only exception to eating any animal products is if it’s out of necessity.

I dont think its healthy to be giving people who spread dangerous misinformation, climate change is happening and it is our fault, to give a platform to the groups that deny that would be beneficial in my opinion
I just love that even tho they don’t follow the same type of lifestyle They tolerate and respects each other’s choices. This is how we all should be. You do you , I do me and let’s be friends. 👏🏼

My cousin is a vegetarian not vegan but she makes us food including meat when we go round because she feels comfortable giving it us not touching tho so she uses gloves her wife also eats meat
@@hellooldfriend3223 Well I get uncomfortable around people who try to explain why I'm living my life wrong. Not all vegans are like that but all I'm saying is that not a single one I have encountered did not try and shame people for eating animals. We have K9 teeth because meat has a lot of benefits and tastes good.
Honestly that's all a bit mean towards the vegan It takes a lot of energy to not freak out in those kind of situations, so huge shout-out to Merle, because believe me guys, that was harsh
ik, she’s trying so hard not to say anything cause she knows if she says something the entire internet would go against her. if i would be in her place, i would definitely make faces and show my anger towards that meat eater
as a non meat eater I was scared this vid was just gonna be bashing vegans and make us look whimpy- but this was sooo good! they both respected each other which is very rare these days (unfortuantly) and they both tried new things while understanding one another!
Sarah Ness It’s buzzfeed.. it’s literally the most idiot liberal RU-vid channel there ever is. Of course it would be supporting the vegan and making the meat eater look like a psycho.
Chocolate Orange It’s not “5 minutes of pleasure”, yes it’s an adrenaline rush to hunt but MOST people eat the animals, make things from its skin, etc. the body went to good use. Any sensible person, including meat eaters myself, would NOT approve if it was for “5 minutes of pleasure” and they didn’t actually do anything good with the meat. I personally wouldn’t feel any different if it was dog (assuming that the dog is wild, same as the animals that are being hunted and not a pet). Hunting is a lot more healthy and better than getting your meat from a grocery store. Not only is it NOT packed with hormones like grocery store meat, but the animal also didn’t have to experience the pain and torture that they do in those slaughter houses.
Indiah West I’m trying to be vegetarian but my moms BF cooks like ONLY meat and fish, any tips on what to eat in quarintine (I try to be vegetarian but I traveled a lot before quarintine and in some places you can eat meat. Or you can eat plain potatoes every day. All day. For a month

As soon as I saw that in the intro I had to stop watching. I’m a vegetarian obviously believe we can live without eating animals and should limit the harm we cause to them as much as possible. But even people who eat meat are doing so to stay alive. Like they see it as a necessity. This chick is getting a huge thrill out of being surrounded by the death of other living beings. Sorry you can never justify hunting as a sport for me. It’s not “misunderstood”. It’s down right disgusting and terrifying, I am always going to question the character of someone who kills for pure fun.
Meg Shiels It’s not just for sport, hunters eat the meat of the animals they hunt. I don’t think it’s necessarily a good thing but I think it’s more honest to eat meat if you hunted it, knowing exactly what you’re eating and how it has been done. Plus it’s less painful and stressful for the animal who gets shot in the head or heart comparing to an animal that get slaughter in a slaughter house.
i love how the vegan is so nice, as a vegan myself i feel like the image the media usually gives us is very wrong, like we are all angry intolerant people and that’s simply not true to most of us
Most vegans are annoying, "omg you eat meat you re horrible human being", "eat plant stop animal cruelty", its not the media that give vegan a bad reputation but vegans holier than thou attitude in this every videos comments section, if someone is a vegan cool but stop preaching it like a religion i wont go to hell because i eat meat.
Adiarby13 this is why I don’t tell anyone I’m vegan even my coworkers. It seems like everyone is out to get you if I make it my own lifestyle. Not all of us are out to get anyone else
@@Adiarby13 If I say that I am against dog or cat abuse or child abuse, would you still be seeing it as just annoying? No. Most people would give praise.
@@saraweekley602 that's just a nor for deer hunters ( at least 4) Bc 1 hunter is alowed 2 deer and that was over the course of 3 weeks probly and+ we need to kill deer or alse they become over populated 👍☝
@That random Guy my point is that people need to stop hiding behind pity self righteous reason and instead confeont the fact they go hunting bc they love killing.
I know someone who is kinda like a mix of these two. She's vegan most of the time (not only food but also beauty products etc.) but eats the meat that her ranger brother hunts when he brings some to her home and such.
One was definitely more dramatic than the other. Watching a RU-vid video of where meat comes from pales in comparison to walking a vegan through a room of butchered corpses!
As a vegan I love Merle and the content she creates. Whats even better is that she reps us vegans as kind, compassionate people on such a huge platform like buzzfeed. Keep doing what you're doing!
I think the most wonderful aspect about this video is not "vegan vs. hunter" but rather how two strangers who are put together based on having that difference, can through patience, understanding and respect, become close friends. We need more of this in the world... Yay to these two gorgeous humans!
john k The meat-eater girl is downright sick. It’s ok to eat meat but to display and pose in front of carcasses is disgusting and says a lot about her character. Absolutely no regard for life.
I think if you're going to eat meat, hunting an animal is better than supporting factory farming, at least you know it had a good life and its on "equal" territory unlike factory farming where they are locked up without ever being outside and slaughtered without a chance of survival and usually its waaay more brutal. Plus if you hunt it I think you'll probably be more respectful of the food. In some aspects if you're a hunter murdering animals yourself is ethnically way better than just buying them with your eyes closed to the reality of your food! As I'm a vegan I'd obviously never go hunting but those are just my two cents on the topic! 🤷♀️
Tina Yael Severinovna M. Yep, because efficiency and being an apex predator doing its role in an ecosystem isn’t fair. Sorry, I’ll just put the gun down, waste generations and generations of improvements and hard work, and go wrestle a buck and watch as it kills me. Sweet.
@@aaliyahm9879 she also lauhed "maniacally" in the grocery store, in the car, in the end and the beginning of the video. Could it be that she just has a *gasp* sense of humor.
Mirror girl if her sense of humor thinks that the corpses of once living, murdered sentient beings that is kinda totally crazy. there shouldn’t be anything funny about that😂
if i were mearl’s place i would never ever shoot an animal or a bird just for the sake of a video or just cause it’s a challenge. for me, no video or challenge is more important than ones life.
I garden, I hunt, I've slaughtered my own animals that I raised. I know how animals are raised and humanely euthanized for stores. I do not feel bad for eating meat and nothing you show me will change my eating habits. THAT SAID I wouldn't take someone who chooses to be vegetarian/vegan into a meat cooler and I sure as heck wouldn't have called it heaven. I think the USA as a whole eats to much meat, I believe it should be more of a side dish then the main meal.
Nah meat will always be the main meal as it contains the most protein which is extremely Necessary for health but veggies are always a needed side dish
@@vikzn1607 yes but I feel as though they are emphasizing on the immorality of taking advantage of your sources. It must've also been extremely uncomfortable for the vegan to be put into that situation. Riverland-Grace Leachman - is everyone was vegan, plants would disappear so we would all starve, like the plant eating animals, so then the meat eating animals would starve. And also, being vegan makes you underweight, pale and sick looking.
OMG this makes me so happy to see that she went vegab because of Anonymous for the voiceless!! I've been involved with the Organization for one year now and it's always great to see that it actually changes something 💗💗
I love this vid!! I'm a vegan myself, but I have a lot of respect for Kelsey. Even thow she still eats meat, she knows where it comes from and is willing to spend more for it!
I also love that both of them can learn from each other instead of hating without trying to understand like so many vegans and meat eaters. The vegan admitted she sometimes miss meat which was brave of her and the meat eater came around to see how a typical vegan diet looked like.
