It disappoints me that this series doesn't have the success that This Exists did during its prime, despite being a spiritual successor to it. In any case, if you continue making episodes, I know I'll continue watching and enjoying.

There's a French-German TV station called Arté that did a couple of episodes on Urbex in former USSR countries. They not only showed pretty interesting (often brutalist) places but also talked to a lot of locals about what these places meant back then and what they're now. Can totally recommend it!

So glad you're back! And I love urban exploring. I did it only a handful of times but I'm always hyped to find cool stuff. Once we found a bin with spray cans. Like, the graffiti kids didn't want to throw their trash around, so they actually put it in a bin.😂

Once in Montreal I found an old parking building with friends, we stumbled onto it totally by accident. It was one of the most terrifying but experience I ever had. Seeing a dead parking lot, full of death traps, like holes and dangerous spikes. The scary part was getting out of there, we knew we had to go down, but it felt like something would block our path. Now I don't know/remember if the parking lot was under construction (it was a new condo place) or just something old, but it was totally fun exploring that place. For a photography project I did visit an abandoned military base, this one was less scary since it was a known place, there were always people there. Still, it's Urban Beauty.

Hey, I think they did an installation for Nuit Blanche at that slaughterhouse last year. Deeeefinitely looks like a cool place to get into.

I honestly like this episode even better than the first. I guess because I was already fairly familiar with the Minecraft festival scene, this is something I know next to nothing about and yet I'm incredibly intrigued.

I knew Jeff Chapman back in the day -- before his Infiltration days, when he ran an absurdist humour BBS called Babble, and created a bit of a local absurdist humour movement called YiP, which grew into its own Zine that I wrote for in a few issues. Went to one of his parties in the early 90s, where he introduced me to Nine Inch Nails, which I am forever grateful for. I kind of moved away from BBSes and moved entirely on the 'net around the time he was starting the whole Infiltration thing, and we kind of lost touch. Sadly Jeff passed away about 15 years ago (fuck cancer).

Interesting point about how social media platforms have effectively replaced the social structure malls provide. When I was in highschool MySpace was the big platform, but it wasn't like it is now. People would be very invested in the online communities but meat-spaces like malls were also still pretty important at the time. It was more half and half than the 90's when it was just the mall and now when it's mostly just online

Definitely fun to do, but the less you know about the building the creepier it is! About exploring i mean. I'd disagree about wearing boots because while safer in case there are venomous things, you move slower. And when you are 99% sure there aren't any, you wanna find something interesting ASAP right? It helps if you have to climb, in case the main door is locked and windows are an easy climb. But otherwise solid advices, not gonna criticise a pro without being one. Cool show & 10:50 lol.

I'm talking about Nicolò Balini aka Human Safari, and his "Italia abbandonata" format, you can take a look here on YT to have an idea. And yes, he too is trying to keep as low profile as possible, especially to avoid spreading of vandals and so on.
