I am ready for the meal.

It seemed like a natural extension of people posting pictures of their food ("oh hey, it's conspicuous consumption for poor people"). I think of sepia era photos of people with displays of abundance and wonder what archeologist will make of all this in a thousand years (and thank god there will be no shortage of reference materials). My suspicion is this will be marked as the Gilded Age 2.0 (don't even need to wait 1000 years). With the rise of girlfriend experience ASMR, I could picture a Blade Runner future where actual sex was too vulnerable for typical prostitution, so people would pay to have someone hold them, stroke their head, and whisper inanities to them until they fell asleep. One the one hand, I salute these brave pioneers at the fringes of human interaction. On the other, I want nothing to do with them and wonder what type of future we are creating.
