Real world aip is the perfect name for your site. While I love using cookbook recipes for a more unique flavor it can get annoying to purchase spices for single use (I try to add them to lots of my dishes to keep them from spoiling 🤷🏻‍♀️). Your use of everyday, easy to find ingredients are ideal for everyone. So glad I found you!

I'm so excited to try this! just another 2 minutes in the oven. I used less cod and added the same amount of ingredients. it looks and smells amazing and looks exactly like eggs! you're amazing! and your videos also make me happy. I'm actually learning how to cook for the first time, aip style. the only thing is it came out watery because i used less fish to the water ratio, but i just drained it & threw it back in to finish cooking! I really like fish & i like turmeric so i think this would be amazing. I cut out eggs a few years ago with the help of a nutritionist. It did help my energy and I felt better overall. Thank you so much for your videos Stacy!!! You are really making a difference in my life :-) cheers

I just made it, and it is a great way to get more fish, for people who do not like it all that much. Salmon is great, but expensive and I can not eat it all to often. My fish smelled just a hint fishy, so I chose to put garlic and dill into it to cover that up. The texture is just like egg, a bit more fluffy, than I prefer, but absolutely eggy, I am facinated and will keep experimenting with it

I eat this for breakfast six or seven days a week! The trick is that the fish has to be very very fresh! So if you can smell fish at all then don't use it for this recipe. If it's really fresh this is so awesome!

I just tried this again with tilapia, and it's a hit! There is a very, very slight hint of fish taste when I eat it plain, but I added sautéed mushrooms and spinach (after the nomelet was baked) and it completely masks it. I should also say that I bought the tilapia fresh the day before yesterday, and it did have a bit of a fishy smell in the package when I opened it this morning. I think if I'd used it the day I bought it, that would've made a difference. I'll post a picture on your Facebook page. Thanks so much for this recipe. You're a magician!

I just picked up a bag of black salt from my local Indian market so I can try this recipe tonight. I'm going to try to make quiche with it using asparagus, bacon, and some kind of cheese, though I'm not sure which recipe I'll use. I'm using black cod as my fish, so I hope it works. I'll let you know how it comes out!
@RealWorldAIP

@@RealWorldAIP, gee, now you tell me. LOL We're making it now and it's still liquidy in the middle after 25 minutes, so we're giving it another 10. 🤞🏾

I mentioned it in video but I tend to talk too fast and go on tangents, lol! I'm sorry my toaster oven is not as reliable as a big oven with timing sometimes. Hopefully it worked out! I'd just keep cooking until the center sets. I haven't tried adding veggies yet except for small amounts of leafy greens so I'm not sure how their liquid content affects the recipe. Hopefully the worst that can happen is soft scrambled eggs?!🤞
@jillwklausen

@@RealWorldAIP, unfortunately, this experiment was a disaster. First, I bought black cod that looked great in the package, but turned out to have skin on the underside and was full of pin bones that it took me 45 minutes to dig out. By then, I was so immersed in fish smell, I couldn't get it out of my brain. Next, my husband made the pie crust and didn't cut the fat in well enough, so it was a dried crumble of dust - yuck. Then there's the fact that I overlooked the plantain directive. And then there was the inclusion of asparagus. That's a big no if you're trying to do this as a quiche. By the time we took it out of the oven, it was swimming in water. I could have poured off a half a cup at least. So I decided to scoop out the eggy mixture, put it in a glass baking dish, and discard the crust. By then we just wanted to eat, so we had pre-made burger patties on mixed greens and some leftover Boston faked beans (I will love you forever for that recipe), and saved the nomelet for breakfast. While reheating it in the oven right now, the house is permeated with the smell of fish. Thomas tasted it and said the first bite tastes great - very egg-like - but that it leaves a fishy aftertaste. So we chucked the whole thing and are having bacon and fruit. I *will* try this again though, but next time I'll buy fresh fish directly from the counter that I can see both sides of and that is completely clean of skin and bones, which is what I believe left mine tasting fishy and yours not. I'm also going to go with a less oily fish like tilapia or sole. But the biggest takeaway I got from this recipe is that incredible salt. What an amazing find. I used it in the plantain wrap recipe in Sarah Ballantyne's The Healing Kitchen cookbook, thinking, everybody likes eggy bread, so let's see how this works. Oh. My. Goddess. Girl, it completely transforms what tastes like a fake bread out of plantains to an actual egg bread that there's not a hint of plantain flavor left in. I adore your OMG It's Bread recipe, but I am going to make it with this salt from now on too. Thank you a million for all the work you do to give us all more variety of nutritious options on this otherwise restrictive diet. I'm off now to become a patron. I just lost my job, but I'm going to give up one kombucha per month to cover it. You are totally worth at least that and more. Have an awesome Sunday! 🤗

@@jillwklausen OMG that was such a nice compliment, thank you so much for making me smile!!! I'm so sorry you had that experience with the black cod. I had never heard of it before, I Googled it and it seems like a heavier oily fish kind of like tuna or salmon. You will be much safer with the sole or tilapia! If you can get some haddock, halibut, scrod or regular old cod- white cod, lol, those all work really well too! I take a deep whiff and if I can detect any hint of fish it gets steamed or pan-fried- only the cleanest smelling go in the nomelets, lol! I'm so glad you liked the black salt and thank you so much for becoming a Patron! I hope your next Nomelet is perfect and delicious!!!💗💗💗

Technically 320 degrees should be 320 degrees no matter what appliance is used, but it does seem like some big ovens run hotter than a toaster oven. Just keep an eye on things the last 15 min.

The protein has to come from somewhere. Tofu can make an eggy texture also with tumaric and Indian black salt... But soy is a trigger food for many, you will not find it on an aip channel. Chickpeaflour and black salt can creat something like an omelette, it is an Indian dish I can not recall the name of, that got adapted by many vegans as an egg substitute. But chickpeas too are not aip compliment. so fish shellfish or meat are what is left when it comes to high protein foods
