I have Hashimoto's and this is my second time trying AIP---wish I'd never stopped... but now Day 14 AIP and joint pain is GONE, puffy face is GONE, bloat is GONE, and anxiety is GONE... Is it possible that my carpal tunnel is improved? Thanks so much for your detailed prepping videos. Very helpful.I'm going to keep going!

GROSS - even if it was 'pre-washed' -what about all of the unwashed hands who've touched it since it left the factory/farm ? Stockers, delivery drivers, packers, not to mention all those people(customers) who don't wash their hands but do touch all of the produce?

I don't worry about stuff like that. But anyone that does should absolutely wash their brussel sprouts!

Take me around 15 minutes to wash the produce, even the pre-washed. One time I found a dead fly....that's why for me take me long to prepare my meals and the time for seasoning the proteins....but tastes delicious

Over the top hygiene is the main cause of allergies. When there are no pesticides or sand you do not actualy need to wash things you gonne heat up before eating anyway. Most bacteria will be killed neither the less. If you feel better, do it, but actualy we need to take in foraign bacteria to be healthy and the Corona paranoia will lead to sickly immune weak children, but there you have to chose between pests. . .

your videos are SO helpful! so many great tips and tricks on how to prep food so it lasts longer! thank you!!! i recently got a huge bag of fresh organic spring greens for $4/lb at a local grocery store i'm trying to remember to include in my rotation (i live around the corner from a whole foods -- it's convenient yes, but a bit maybe a bit too much so -- whole paycheck, as the saying goes!) -- anyway, i really packed the bag good with greens, and within a few days there were slimies here and there, even though they were super-fresh when i bought them. and now thanks to your video, i know why! i'll spread the same amount across two bags the next time i buy them. :-) BTW, also, your dogs are sooo adorable!

Stacy, I was just diagnosed with intestinal permeability and my stomach is very sensitive to everything. Can you please post a video with a recovery plan for severe problems? I found the stage 1 of gaps diet to be useful with all the soothing soups, but cannot find any other resources for an action plan. I have eczema on my eyes exactly like you had and would be very grateful to hear exactly how you began your journey out of ill health.

Great video as always! I just tried Bok Choy and even my kids liked it! How have I never tried it before?! and I love your greens prep. I need to start saving my plastic tubs. Makes so much sense. I’m off to go watch your batata bars video. Thanks Stacy!

I'm so glad you liked it!!! You can also use gallon size storage bags lined with paper towels if you don't have the plastic tubs :) The batata bars are my new breakfast favorite now! In my latest batch I put a whole can of coconut milk and they caramelized and got sticky and were so good!! But they were mushier and I couldn't slice them down the middle to make toast. The video recipe will make a firmer bar that you can slice.

I got to minute 4:44 and I'm exhausted already....lol! At least I learned how to keep my spinach longer and yes I only do spinach because that's way too much roughage for my IBS and are'nt spinach the "superstars" anyway? The other thing I learned is that dogs can enjoy lettuce....hehe! I still wonder though, where can I get extra calories??? All I saw was protein n greens... I'm trying to gain weight!

Gabriel Ortiz spinach is great! (Unless you have a histamine intolerance or issues with oxalate/ stones). My meal prep sessions aren't always so intense, lol it depends on what I buy at the store. It would be easy to gain weight on AIP! Eating plenty of starchy carbs like plantains, taro, cassava, sweet potato, etc along with lots of healthy fats- always works for me! :)

RealWorldAIP .......LOL! Sorry it was the first video of yours that I saw and it confirmed my suspicion that "greens ain't for sissies".....lol! By that I mean that they require a good amount of prep n care to maximize their use. But you certainly have it down-packed! And your comment about Spinach confirms that all those books next to you (on the video) are not just for show since you're quite knowledgeable. Thanks again :-)!

Hello - what percentage would you say of your food is organic (fruits + veggies) and what percentage is wild-caught + grass-fed + free range (seafood + meats)?

I'd say 85-95% of my produce is organic. I buy non-organic plantains and avocados because they have thick skin that I peel...sometimes I'll get non-organic cabbage (clean 15) but that's really about it. Everything else organic. And 100% grass-fed meat, wild fish. Except oysters and clams- I will get those farmed, this article explains my reasoning on that: bit.ly/2UFVS9q

No, no grains! My only successful reintros have been seed-based spices, some nuts, distilled spirits, coffee and chocolate. Rice gives me awful brain fog!😢

Hey! I just posted my first video on youtube today! I also just recently started the AIP diet and love this video! I am making a channel to document my findings and to try out different things to help whatever I have going on! Im hoping my channel will be able to connect with others going through similar things, and to see that, no matter how hard, life can still be great! I love your channel and am hoping to grow mine to share the difficult story of living with an autoimmune disorder but still showing that we can have a great life too! Love your videos, as I am now on day 12 and hitting a stump whenever I get hungry... All I want is cheese. And bread lol!

Stacey, what is the reason for red onion rather than any other color? also, what would you use in coffee if coconut oil would be out? (I am really not a fan of coconut at all. sigh.) Thank you!

There are a few reasons I always buy red onions :) I like them best in salads, I like to "eat the rainbow" so I go for the most colorful variety, and they actually contain more antioxidants than white and yellow onions. If you can successfully re-intro macadamia nut oil it is delicious in coffee!! Other yummy re-intros would be cacao butter, hazelnut oil or ghee. For strict AIP elimination phase, you could try tiger nut oil amzn.to/2FcJJoT. If it is just the taste of coconut that you dislike, refined or MCT oil wouldn't taste like coconut at all.

Oh...these are such great suggestions!!!! I haven't even thought about cacao butter!!!! Does refined coconut still have any goodness (other than fat) or are all good properties "killed" by "refinement"? Thank you. Will you show us your workouts at any point? You said that you love lifting, but I am curious if you do any cardio or any other things like yoga, pilates, etc. Also, I keep meaning to ask you about your slaw. You mentioned that you freeze it. The recipies for the cabbage that I have seen usually parboil it. You don't seem to do so. Does it go darker? Do you eat the frozen one raw or do you cook it? Thank you!!!

I found this article on refined vs unrefined coconut oil, I think she does a great job of explaining the difference: livingthenourishedlife.com/refined-vs-unrefined-coconut-oil-3/ I'm not sure if I will do a workout video as I the style of workouts I do may not be appropriate for others with autoimmune disease. I enjoy HIIT training and traditional lifting like barbell squats and pull ups... I tried a yoga video once, it made me feel like kickboxing, lol. I have a hard time relaxing and slowing down. I don't do traditional cardio because I have a very active lifestyle, I work on my feet always moving. The more treadmill and spin bike I do, the more I am hungry all the time and actually have a harder time maintaining my weight! OK, maybe I should do a video, this is getting lengthy :) I don't parboil the cabbage and it stays the same color. I eat the thawed out slaw right from the jar, raw on a salad, or cooked in a stir fry.

Actually i did suffer still is atm had to diagnose myself went and did blood test on my own right now im loseing my hair server pain have by the cabinets of tablets but nothing gets rid of my pain i cant eat or sleep properly brain fog eye problem lots of infection s every couple weeks some doctors thought i make up the pain they im crazy they recommend i see a srink i did srink told nothing wrong with me mentally that im not making up this stuff so yet to figure out who to take this blood results to and how to get treatment for it to locate a doctor i just doing lots of research so when i find a doctor they can't give me no stupid talk i will no my stuff some times like today i can hardly move think my body shutting down btw it toke almost fourteen years im i cant remember if i had sytoms before im thirty seven guess i need lots of help just don't no were to get it researching is helping some

I filmed this after working a bartending shift. High stress, multitasking and constant demands/time constraints will do that! I don't have the luxury of taking a relaxing day to do meal prep, it gets done when it gets done. The deal with oyster cubes is that shellfish is extremely nutrient dense and it's important to incorporate it into our diets as much as possible. Fresh live clams and oysters will die in the fridge after so many days, and they are more labor intensive- washing to clean them, steaming, taking out of the shell- who wants to do that when they are prepping a quick meal before work? When you steam them, remove from shell and freeze individually in ice cube trays they are now ready to toss into anything, fast and easy. They really shine in stir fries.
