sometimes the mom is the abuser.... I'm a 33 year old grown man and still not over it. Still holding out for that "I'm proud of you moment." I've accomplished so much in my life but still feel like it doesn't matter. Won't ever get the sincere appreciation. It's really hard.

My wife started the grieving process while we were engaged and in continued into our marriage. She had a hard time believing she could heal as she would cry most nights and October was a month she hated as it's when the trauma started. Now, she's getting better and still working on things and I'm proud of her

Ohhhh Jennifer! I’m starting to work on these issues at the age of 63. I just asked my therapist if it was too late, and they gave the same answer as John. Good luck finding a wonderful therapist!

No, EVERYONE asks that question...to themselves. Recovery takes time, skilled help, commitment, and courage. If you are in an abusive relationship, experiencing serious depression or anxiety, or working 60 hours/week, you are going to find it nearly impossible to make progress overcoming past abuse.This woman has run from her past and now it is catching up with her.

My ACE score is a 10. I'm 5 years into perimenopause, going through hopefully my second annulment, and hopefully cancer free in March when I am checked again (I already had my haircut). I'm wondering if I maybe have the opportunity to still be a mother. Oh, and I'm 32.
