The switch is basically the ps3 version that runs better. Can't complain though, seeing AC4 running so well on a handheld is impressive.

Nope, the ps3 don't have so nice effects, have lower resolution than switch, and sometimes goes almost 20fps (the switch are almost stable 30fps) The switch version are rather a ps4 downgrade than a ps3 upgrade

@@Tofu3435 Actually, it is PS3 upgrade. Check digital foundary. Switch version is PS3 port with higher resolution, improved shadows, more stable frame rate Audio quality however is worse on Switch because they compressed it.

I feel like the roofs are redder and cleaner on Switch, and the sound effects are SO MUCH CRISPER on Switch as well. Pretty amazing for a handheld, I’d say!

Well. PS4 came out in 2013. Switch came out in 2017. The Switch is in a perfect place between ps3 graphics and ps4 graphics. For a hand held, its incredible, but its still beyond the PS4 or the Xbox one capabilities. If nintendo can make a new console in the next 4 years, they will most certaintly reach the competition agin.

I remember a time when the portable like psp and the home like PS3 was a whole other level (the same apply to mobile and PC games counterpart, there's difference but is incredibly similar)

One other difference I noticed is when sneaking through foliage. On PS4/Xbox One the environment moves around you whereas on the switch it is stagnant. But the port runs and plays well! I almost didn’t notice a difference until I saw this video.

If someone has only played Ac4 on a Nintendo Switch, I recommend that you try it again on Playstation, Xbox, or PC. I used to play the Nintendo Switch version and now I'm playing it again with Steamdeck, and I'm having a completely different experience with the Naval Combat. Especially, the smoke that comes out after Cannon is fired is really cool and the expression of the weather is more detailed. You can experience a much cooler naval battle

Bro I have both versions and you're spot on. The experience on steam deck is so different. The smoke effects and water effects in particular stands out the most. Steam deck also has things like anti-aliasing, Hbao+, God Rays, soft shadows which the switch's version lacks

people might underestimate the switch but they don't realize a PS3/4 game can look nearly as good as the PS4 version and work well with the switch which is a portable console. I mean previous portable consoles sometimes had to use comic animation for cutscenes or others had poor graphics and gameplay.

The difference is: Vegetation (Ps4)=High Swich=Low Edward is more shaved in switch than ps4 Low anti aliasing in switch and high in ps4 Some blurry effects in switch but clear in ps4 And some low effects in switch

Don't forget the screen space reflection, it is not full cast on switch...i think switch has no anti aliasing solution, the ambian occlusion is very low to none, it is hard to tell without zooming it in.. Ps4 uses temporal anti aliasing, that works 100% all the time on console..

the switch graphics look like the base is from the xbox 360/ps3 version and then the developers brought some of the finer details and effects from the xbox one/ps4/pc version to make it look little more polished. still looks good tho :)

Nope..it is base on the ps4 this time around with compromised in graphics.. Switch ac blackflag inherit some remastered version of the game... But it has no taa solution, less to none ambian occlusion, lower shadow, low texture,.less vegetation.. Ac3 remasterd on switch is the same as the ps3 version with better performance, and i don't know why they called it a remaster version

I have both PS4 and switch which one shuld i play AC4 on: Pro in PS4 for me: Graphics Pro in Switch for me: Fully patched,so maybe bugs,clunky control arent there anymore,plus it's a bundle so i don't have to download all dlc manually. What do you think?

Ps4 has better texture,better shadow, better ambian occlusion ,better draw distance shadow, more vegetation and better anti aliasing ... The biggest difference is the screen space reflection, switch has no screen space reflection while on ps4 support fully screen space reflection as you can see at 1:47 and 2:07 ..Overall this is a good port for the switch, optimization on switch means compromised in graphics is a must..

I never owned a Nintendo Switch but the console is very impressive for a handheld, I own a PSP thats already broken, a PS3 and PS4, obviously still using PS4 of course, I'm waiting for CyberPunk 2077, the fact that you could play a PS3/PS4 game anywhere you go is impressive enough. If only I have the budget I would have bought it in a heartbeat.

@@louispoulain1184 True but this master piece is hella old and every modern pc can handle this I think. Even my old 1050ti could do this and still reached about 60 frames :D

@@louispoulain1184 No I mean the 1050ti is hella weak. And it still can handle this. And everyone who plays serious on pc have at least a newer gpu I guess :D

I wish they did the same for the AC3 Port, cause I had better experience and memories of playing AC3 than Blackflag on my PS3

at the end of the day, as much graphics as we have its all about the gameplay. i have both platforms and i enjoyed both.

I like that the switch is being called a "Handheld" most of the time. Well it's half true. It's the culmination of their economical and innovative system design. This is what the Wii U was supposed to be. The Gameboy and DS handheld concept of being a separate system are now officially retired. This is the new direction of Nintendo's future systems. A merge of both console and handheld.

I'm playing this now on switch lite and lovin it. My first time playing assassins creed main entries is on the switch. I played liberation on psvita first and that looks better on switch. I thought about ditching this title and going ps4 but seeing as the differences are so miniscule.... I'll just enjoy playing this in bed.

I used to only have a switch and played black flag, i thought it was great.... This played on ps4 pro and realized the game is even better than i thought
