BATWOMAN EPISODE 17 REVIEW | ABSOLUTE TRASH! 

"Why do you think we haven't seen the Joker?" Because even that maniac knows he'd be insane to be in this show

You know, making Batman a murderer doesn't absolve Kate of killing Evil Ned Flanders. It just shows how desperate the writers are to make Kate look good.

I'm torn heavily between wanting Batwoman cancelled and erased from my mind, and wanting it to go on forever so that I can keep seeing how bad the train wreck gets.

When the Devil meets you at the gates of hell, he'll tell "Thorias, you've already done your time...."

Whenever I think being stuck at home by myself sucks, I remember this man has to watch Batwoman while he's in quarantine too.

When I first heard that batman killed Joker in this series, I went on to youtube and watched that famous scene from Under the redhood when Batman explained his reason for not killing Joker. This show is so ungodly bad it physically hurts my love for bat-media. Fuck. This. Show.

Shouldn't Mary be mad that Kate didn't arrest Alice and thus keep her from killing her mother? These people don't act like real people. Mary desperation for Kate's love? approval? is bizarre and should have ended the minute she realized that Kate is indirectly impossible for her mother's death.

2:05 Funny enough, Bruce at least did something about inmates of Gotham being abused in his show yet Batwoman does absolutely nothing about it and is still considered a hero. But then again, this is the same show that treats Batman with little respect as possible.

I don't think anyone should be shocked by this I mean it was obvious that they were going to demonize Batman to make Batwoman look good from the first trailer. Hell from the moment they announced this show I knew they would do the same thing Supergirl did and piss on their male counterpart any chance they got.

When Mary named all the things that Kate did for her, I was like “MARY SUE DETECTED BEEP BEEP BEEP” because its so typical for Sues to have amazing things about them told than actually shown.

Would it be fair to say the show ruined Joker too? The Dark Knight movie made it brilliantly clear. If Batman kills the Joker, the Joker wins. But the Joker is also charismatic and a master manipulator. Surely the news of his death would've caused riots from his followers and uprisers of other villains? The Arkham games touched upon that aspect. But if what Batwoman is saying is true, Batman didn't stick around to clean up the aftermath and somehow the Crows cleaned up the city???? What button do I press to doubt?

Kate... the only “hero” who needs constant reminders that murder is bad... mmmkay.

Joker killed Robin in cold blood in the most brutal way imaginable. Shot Barbara, torrent Gordon, killed hundreds if not millions, yet he always gone the extra mile to save the laughing bastard. In fact, he even protected the psychopath a number of times overs. Hell, Zsasz killed Alfred in the injustice universe, yet Batman stay pure to the code. He never kill because his job is to arrest the costume criminals. Know what, this also proves why Bruce is the superior bat. Bruce cross a line in this show. Bruce realizes the weight of his actions and how dangerous that can be. The aforementioned injustice Batman once said it always starts with one. The first always the hardest, after that there an expect. No matter how you feel, no matter how you spin it, there a crack in the once impenetrable armor. To Bruce he cross a line, a line that a bat would never. Batman doesn’t kill. There can be no expectation. Wether be drug influence. An intense emotion reaction. Or some twist third option the Joker probably crafted. Regardless Bruce made the right decision. Sure the guy can continue dressing up like a bat and fight crime, but he never able do it as a Bat. Same with Kate, she cross a line and can’t be a seen as a bat anymore. The fact she still willing to wear that suit prove how little she value the bat. Doesn’t matter what code, law, trust, that bitch break. She will continue to act above the law whenever possible. Commit assault, thief, lie, cheat, manipulate, or even flat out murder. Why not? There no pesky lines? There no consequences? Just like the brilliance writing in this show, there nothing.

Can somebody please help me understand something? Why would DC (and by extension the CW) allow a show whose ratings are in the toilet and is disliked by so many people to tarnish the legacy of Batman, a property that actually makes money? How at this point can they even consider giving the show a second season? I hate how they excused away Kate murdering someone in cold blood. So, are they going to have Kara (apparently, her new BFF that came out of nowhere) just brush it off as well? Disgusting, really disgusting. Also, did anybody else notice the difference in how they approached this storyline with Kate as opposed to Oliver? I still remember the scene where Felicity was having a conversation about why Oliver does what he does and she said something to the effect - "I doubt you do this so people can say thank-you." Oh, I miss those days. ETA: Shows you that these writers do not have a shred of originality that they actually stole one of the greatest moments from Oliver's story. They had the f*****g audacity to go there.

Batman: "I'll lock them up and not kill them, even if they always escape prison and end up free." Batwoman: "May as well cut out the middle-man..."

I can’t even get mad at the Batman character assassination or the pedestal they put Kate on because honestly, there’s no foundation for either of them. I can’t take this show seriously because it feels like they don’t even take themselves seriously. I would actually respect this show much more if the writers didn’t hate this show as much as we did. Every retcon and bastardization of the characters feels less like a “fuck you” to the audience and more like a child calling the audience a poopyhead

“Reset Kate back to zero.” Sounds like Gold Experience Requiem got in the Writers room.

In the next season, Kate finds Bruce Wayne secluded in an island, drinking green milk, looking like a bum.

Maybe the Batman Who Laughs will now come and kill everyone Arrowverse. I mean... if Batman killed the Joker, then by all logic and sense, he should have been transformed into the Batman Who Laughs now- wait. Batwoman doesn't have logic or sense, does it?

Meanwhile, Batwoman writers are like "Why are ratings sinking? We're doing all we can to make Batman look as awful as possible while propping up our awesome new hero! Why don't people like this?"

Batman is still better than Kate, even if he did kill The Joker. Because he broke his code and felt so guilty and like a fraud, that he left Gotham. Kate did the same and shrugged it off. She's a hypocrite. Batman: "I broke my code, my only rule, to never take a life. I have failed Gotham. I am no better than the criminals I help the police lock up." Batwoman: "I broke the code. Oh well, it won't happen again. I guess. *SOMEONE EMOTIONALLY VALIDATE ME AND TELL I'M A HERO SO I FEEL BETTER!!!!!*

A good writer would have had the police officer press the button saving himself and the second bomb be in his own home killing his wife and kids, thus him finding out saving himself cost him everything he loved which then sends him insane then work into story somehow, I dunno where he blame the police force for not protecting him or something.

The writers watched Onward and realized that their show had sisters in it and they could give Mary the meaningful and impactful emotional payoff of the younger sibling realizing their older sibling has been more meaningful to their life than their parent. Forgetting that Mary and Kate had a reestablished relationship that entirely contradicted it and that Mary had both parental figures.

Jack Napier was referenced earlier, assuming this is the Tim Burton character, the joker died by falling to his death, but Batman tried to save him. So this show can go flush itself down the toilet.

Only something like 600,000 people watched this episode. During a pandemic where all we can to do is sit and consume media. That's DOWN from the previous episode. This ship is sinking faster than a submarine with screen doors for portholes.

You have to remember that this is a CW show. Batwoman releases criminals because, if the people that like these shows had thier way, this would be what "criminal reform" would look like.

I was utterly shock that they let Luke say that about Batman when there is a Batman movie in production. I thought the idea that her killing Cartwright was what make her breakdown instead of her killing the old Bruce during Crisis was just a load of garbage. Cartwright had no redeeming value and it was almost justified knowing what he did to her family by destroying both Beths. I know killing old Bruce was to save Supergirl but that was still a form of your cousin that she have meant more. The only reason this show is still on and has another season is because the CW has nothing to replace it with. I guess she won’t be doing those diary entries anymore since she is now better than Bruce. The only reason that I have watched the show is to be able to comment on review videos. I have no vested interest or care for these crappy characters.

If Batman leaving was necessary, then they could have tried harder to come up with a plausible reason why he left. He would NEVER kill Joker! Imagine if he left because of this: He trains Jason Todd as Robin, Joker murders him, but Bruce still doesn’t kill him. But then Todd comes back as Red Hood, then HE kills Joker, and Bruce is so devastated by what happened, he blames himself and leaves. It’s a more plausible reason than Batman doing the deed himself!

I know this is small but it really irritated me and I need somewhere to vent on it. This seems like the place. Kate says, of DD-214, "... the military put the same code on my papers." Jesus christ read a whole paragraph. DD-214 isn't a "code" you put on papers - it's the name/number of a discharge form. EVERY discharge, whether honorable or not, is put on this form. This isn't even a case of changing the facts to further the story. Kane could have just as easily said, "DD-214. That's a military discharge form." It gets under my skin because it indicates the kind of not-even-half-effort into understanding the military that so many of these shows do. Then they go patting themselves on the back for all their research. ... while I'm at it, everyone still in the military knows what a DD-214 is. The point the show tries to make that, "The Army didn't think you were good enough and that's why you know what this means," is entirely moot. Everyone who was in the military, good enough to stay or not, knows what that is. If they'd done something like, "CH 14," for "Chapter 14," which is a discharge for a pattern of misconduct, that would make the same point but actually mean something. This, again, just indicates the laziness of this writing. Do more than a google search. Two minutes of talking to anyone in the military would have told them this.

This episode finalized my view of the "writers" as Kindergardeners, sitting in the communal sandbox and spitting and pooping on everyone else's toys, so theirs looks "the bestest EVAAAR"!. And I am CONVINCED, that the CW only greenlit this dumbster fire for a second season, because they're banking on people watching it to see just how low they are going to stoop in the future with it. For no other reason. Literally turning turds into gold.

Bruce has killed people before, having him revealed to have killed the Joker isn’t the problem, having him go into self imposed exile because he broke his code isn’t the problem, the problem and one of the biggest expressions of “Fuck you” the writers can do in regards to his character as this only exists to validate Kate, “oh yeah Bruce was a pussy and couldn’t handle breaking his code. But not you Kate, NEVER you, you’re to STRONG and POWERFUL to fail like he did”.

Batwoman is great if you wanna lose weight you puke whit every episode so much !!
