It’s been a year ago today since this happened and Danny is simply still not living up to the standards of being an ideal man of the future, you had one job Danny.
Its refreshing seeing a future comment on a future themed video before the "thing" happened not explicitly talking about the "thing" happening right after the video.
There are actually about 4(?) dresses made from glass created 116 years ago. It’s called moonlight cloth. It is glass interwoven with silk and apparently the colors are amazing
@@cresture6200 , standard glass isn't something you can weave with, though. Take a pane of glass from a window, for example. Rigid and square/rectangular. If you try to bend it, it shatters. And the shards will cut you, so it would be dangerous to weave with them. So are we talking microscopic pieces of glass? Fiberglass? Does the fabric cut you?
Overwhelming positivity was very much a trend during the 30's... and the 40's... and the 50's, but I tend to prefer it to the overwhelming pessimism and cynicism that we got used to.
The middle of the great depression, WWI had just ended, Germany was suffering the loss, Communism was spreading, Imperial Japan was expanding and Hitler was rising to power. *1930's voice and tone* _BUT HEY LOOK AT THE CANDIES IN THE BELT AN- AND THE UH- THE 3 IN 1 DRESS :D_
@@cl0wn.k0dx this is 1939 so WW1 was 2 decades ago, communism had just lost in Spain and fascism was spreading. Imperial Japan was at war with and bogdown in China and Hitler has been in power for 7 years.
@@Alex-cw3rz Yeah! Still, my joke stands, I made it vague for a reason. Although I guess I could've been more clear. Hitlers influence on the average person was rising, as was the threat of war. In 1938 Japan's aggressive nationalism led to the construction of Unit 731 in the Japanese occupied region of Manchuria. I didn't say all this was new stuff, it was all brewing. I know fascism, communism and nationalism didn't just *appear* in 1939. However it began to be more mainstream, people in power with those beliefs, Shiro Ishii, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Josef Mengele to name a few. One of the reasons Hitler was able to gain so much popularity was because Germany was *still* suffering from the after effects of WWI. Hitler gave the Germans an easy target, Jewish people, given that Anti-Semitism has been around for centuries, it wasn't hard to convince a-lot of the world that they are the ones to blame. I don't at all intend this to be aggressive, I just wanted to make it clear that I know its not that simple :)
It’s so amazing that the first womens look (and the zip one) were designed so the sleeves and skirt could be long or short based on formality of the occasion. We’ve moved so far from that “dressing for dinner” way of life that Danny thinks the adjustable nature of the garments is for weather.
Danny also just has subpar listening and comprehension skills… I think it’s just him being confused and not just everyone no longuet dressing fancy for dinner hahahah
Danny just looks like a police officer, Keys for the office-car, Candy for the crying children losing their criminal parents,Coins to eat donuts and a furterisitic police hat with a walkie talklie/phone
Weirdly I think the "help her find an honest man" line might be a reference to Diogenes, who carried a lamp looking for an honest man and held it up to people's faces
Eryn Coyle They’re ok. I prefer the ones who wear a stove top burner as a crown. If they have an enormous phone, bigger than my entire torso, attached to their chest that makes them a walking phone booth... 🤯😍👰🏻
The jumpsuit flatters a tall/long body and the belt tailors it so that it's more fitted and highlights the waist. Men's clothing/fashion is often not designed to show off the body like women's fashion is. The jumpsuit hasn't been in style for men since the 1970s.
I've noticed on a lot of old things that they for some reason think Women won't need men to reproduce in the future so men will just be disgarded and/or not born lol
@@xixXxxXxix I mean, technically we don't need men to reproduce, because there's the bone marrow thing, but it's easier to just, have sex, instead of doing a whole procedure
@@lozisimmortal you're correct, but we're likely a long way away from Women being so against Men that they'd happily not allow a male to be born into this World if they were pregnant with one, as the "Men will become obsolete" theory assumes :)
I'd like to think that there was one designer who was like "What if women wear pants and don't wear dresses as often?" and then they kicked him out of the room
"So, what do we think women will wear in the future??" "Glass dresses!!" "wire bras!" "dresses with sleeves that zip off for no reason!!" "Yes...yes...very good. Now, jimmy, what do you think?" "I think they might...wear pants!" "WHAT?" **throws jimmy out of window**
Weirdly, aside from the 'veil of glass', the wedding dress actually kinda predicted the popular style of wedding dresses in the -80's-, especially the poofy shoulders. Just without the beading.
Fun Fact!: The reason Americans in pre-1960s television talk 'fancy' is because actors were taught a Transatlantic accent, which was only used for television and was considered the proper form of the American accent. It's really cool!
We have the same thing here in Quebec where the "international" french used to translate movies and TV series is talked no where on the planet right now
I like that Danny didn’t even consider sewing the containers to the jumpsuit, he just immediately jumped to the glue gun, maybe it was all the exposure to troom troom
At the end of the video when he said he was bored I was like “oh this was during quarantine!” I feel like that’s really going to mark a very memorable time in our lives and our media
"aww, what happened, future boi?" Laura is a gem, I'm glad Danny found someone for life who can just roll with whatever insane thing he randomly surprises her with :D
The weird thing is that they were pretty on point with some of it for today. See through shirts are common, people have mobile phones instead of phones tied to their clothing, there are unnecessary zippers on clothing, they were right about pants and wider based heels in women's fashion, and they seemed to anticipate an increased involvement of women in the business sector while misjudging what would happen to pockets. Also big hair was popular basically from the 70-90s, so that was on point too. Pretty good considering the lack of anything they had to really judge off of, so I'm kind of wondering if they're going to be even more right in the 2040s.
Am I the only one who interpreted candy for cuties as for little kids? Pretty sure that was more likely a thing than a stash of candy for pretty women.
Istg i thought this was a main channel video, and I've been looking for it for so long, and i finally found it over here. For like a year I've had "candies for cuties" living in my head rent free
Everyone saying he didn’t give any candy to Laura, but if she brought the candy to him, that means HE IS THE CUTIE WHOM CANDY IS GIVEN TO. Laura=optimal future man
For some reason, this has become my Essay motivation video. I have no idea why, but every time I need to write a paper I watch this video and then I feel motivated to write. thank you for helping my grades Danny.
But they aren't exactly considered "fashionable" Edit: welp looks like I was mistaken 🤷🏻♀️ the consensus on these replies seem to be that Danny packs are fashionable
Mossears133 yea only annoying part is the whole for the male gaze thing the video said it was for😂 twenty first century we be living for self-confidence
“some of the designers even dared to say that skirts wouldn’t even be a thing, we cannot imagine this childish fantasy of a world where women don’t wear dresses and skirts”
@@cdw2468 i don't think it was seen as that crazy, and it's different because it's not accepted that men should be creative in their clothing, but it would be seen as crazy if a man wore skirts in the future
my mom grew up in 40s and 50s and having pants was not seen so odd especially in wintertime. My grandpa was against jeans because he saw them as workers clothing and thought my mom would not be seen as a good student/employee because the look was too casual.
