Thank you so much this really fixed my neck after weeks of pain. You’re a magician. My neck is 90% better and I saw this video yesterday. If I was Mayor I’d give you a key to the city
Thank you so much! I have neck pain since two years. I tried many other exercises, none of them helped. But after performing the ones shown by you in this video. I felt instant relief. I will keep doing these regularly.
Dr. Saunders, I just wanted to thank you for this video demonstration. My military neck has been killing me lately and this has provided much needed relief. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Hello doc ive been feeling dizzy since second of july last year it hasnt stopped, ive checking everything and i think i got lordosis hopefully these exercises will fix it.
Can you please make a video on muscles to stretch and strengthen to help bring back cervical lordosis. Can't find anywhere on RU-vid. Thanks a lot Doctor Saunders.
Wow that perfect, I'm a guitar teacher (always hunched over) and my chiro I saw for 6 months taught me less in the entire time I was seeing him than this video did. I can feel it already working in one session!
Hi Dr. thank you so much for this its actually helps me relief my neck! its been 8 months my neck hurts . your life saver! you need more subscriber for being a good doctor!
I'm currently going to a chiro for neck traction sessions and re alignments which help, but in the interim doing these excercises give me relief and get rid of cervicogenic headaches and nerve pain 👍 thanks Doc!
Hello Mr. jon Saunders, I have been doing these exercises for 2 days, my neck is very relaxed and my mind is calm, I will report from time to time, I will do these exercises for 6 months Thank you Dr.Jon Saunders
Checking back in. Have you seen any improvement in the shape of your spine? Im starting neck exercises and want to know if i will start seeing physical differences after a month
You are my last hope to relieve me from constant pain 🙏🏼 but I have two questions 1. Is it really possible to restore some lordosis through exercise without retraction? 2. Should I pull all the time with the same force? Or just with extension part? Thank God for your existence on RU-vid ❤️
I can't thank you enough Jon 🙌🌿🌻 I've suffered from neck pain for many years and tried everything including exercises but your targeted exercises made all the difference. I set an ⏰ at work so I get up and do them every couple of hrs. Gosh, what a relief 😊 please keep up the good work.
@@drjonsaunders oh it absolutely helped. Thank you once again 🌻 Sharing your videos with family and friends. It's also good for everyone to do as a preventative measure.
Thank you very much!. I did it just now and I can feel a huge difference. My neck feels much better. The pain is decreased with the stretches and the exercises.
oh i'm gonna start these. I've had cervicogenic headaches for the last 2 years..daily! I see a wonderful chiropractor but she hasn't shown me these. I have a few more pain free days but then all comes back. Gonna try these!! Oh i do have reversed cervical lordosis seen on a recent x ray.
Phew, I just did 12 reps of each and I feel so nice! My neck has been hurting due to this for almost 10 years--my bad posture finally caught up with me in the 1st year of uni and I've been in pain since. I went to a chiropractor who helped me to some degree and confirmed that my rib is dislocated and I have reverse neck curvature due to posture, but I still feel a good amount of pain some days. I'm gonna stick to this and look forward to feeling less pain x_x
I was in a very very bad head collision two years ago. I have straightening of the vertical lordosis. I can’t wear anything on my head, my neck and middle back hurts so much. I am praying this helps me out
Loved your video! I’m just starting PT for a straight neck. I’m now excited and optimistic about getting positive results. My question, I’m almost 67 years old and I still am competitive in powering. What is your opinion on me continuing with heavy squats? The bar rests on my shoulders and goes across the very base of my neck. Not much weight though on that spot. Thanks. John G
how many times a day we need to do this exercise? Can we also use the neck stretcher tools like the one we put under our neck and wait for a while? Thank you very much in advance.
First of all thank you doctor. I am seeing a Chiro and want to understand dos and donts, such as red flags if he is doing something which I need to stop bcuz I dnt want my neck to messed up. Also is it safe for him to turn and crack my neck ?
My migraines are killing me... Just found out I have a loss of cervical lordosis, my GP has nothing to say about it. Thank you for this by the way... I'm going to implement it daily and see if I can create change. With that said, is it ok to do when in the throws of a headache or migraine ?
@@drjonsaunders yeah i mean its quite severe and it causes me muscular tension all the time and I've actually done an x-ray week ago, since then I'm committed to the excersizes. But I'm asking so i know when to do another x-ray
interesting to hear about the chin tucks making the neck straighter. my physical therapists suggested them to me, but granted this was before my MRI revealed that I have slight loss of curvature. you think it’d be a good idea to continue doing them?
Hello, I am a masseuse and I have problems with my neck and arms from work. I had an MRI of the cervical spine, I have disc herniations, corrected lordosis and some other changes in the smaller joints. I started doing these exercises today, so I'm wondering what are the chances that this hump on the neck will go away? What is your experience with patients? Thank youuuu and greetings from France 😊
@@drjonsaunders Thanks for the answer, I will definitely look into it. I'm just wondering if a herniated disc is a contraindication for this exercise? I'm afraid that by trying to restore lordosis, I'm not making something else worse :) I worked for the Canadians at the NATO base in Bosnia, good memories. Nice people ☺️
I have bad forward head posture. This video has reduced my headaches a lot. Thank you for making this. Is there any other video you recommend for forward head posture?
Wonderful video. I have a question regarding people with high degree of degeneration in c5-7 and have slight reverse curve with mild disc bulges. Is this exercise still appropriate in that scenario. How do people with degenerative changes get their curves back. Can you create a video for those people if the protocol is much different. So much appreciated!!!
@@drjonsaunders I have been to 7 chiropractors in ct. no one even mentions or seems to care about the curve. They just want to manage it with multiple visits. It’s almost negligent. I had one chiro 8 years ago take an X-ray and tell me I don’t want to wake a sleeping giant. Wtf kind of care is that.
Will take long than a few weeks, and you will need a pre and post xray at your chiropractor to determine it you are getting correction...always best to use this with your chiropractors recommendations. Best wishes.
I recently discovered I have 2 mild disc bulges & cervical lordsis, this provided instant relief after around a year of agony! I should be getting PT in a couple of weeks too. Anything else you recommend?
Hello Doc. Thanks for this video, its doing wonders to my neck and head pain. Just a quick question, Can i start swimming also for the muscles strengthening as I have symptoms of DDD as well? Also as for now i can't do any weight lifting, no gym , no running. So alternate for me is swimming and cycling. What would you advice?
I have a loss of neck curve and also anterior pelvic tilt. Do you think anterior pelvic tilt could have contributed to the loss of cervical lordosis? If yes, can I do exercises to fix both daily? Thanks for the vid doctor :)
Doctor I've loss of cervical lordosis and pain is always in the right side of neck, head and upper back (because of long time sitting and studies), so will these exercises help?
I was wondering which muscles are too tense (is it the SCM and other neck muscles?) and which are too loose (back muscles?) in this posture? My mum has this problem and I'm trying to add some exercises (to stretch too tense muscles and strengthen the ones too weak) to the routine you presented to hopefully make the results more noticeable
Hey doctor. A Month ago i had so much pain on right side of upper body bcz of straight neck. Now my condition has improved alot and pain is mild and occur very little. I want to ask you can i join dace classes bcz I've been waiting for it for so long?
Hi Dr Jon, yes correct, ...I have recent x-rays from November 2023, and I figure a few weeks to a month to see "some" symptoms abate, but months or years for a full correction,, thank you for the reply, I wasn't expecting that
Do you have any tips for extreme hypermobility constantly throwing a neck out of whack? I have a reversed lordosis and even when I lay down it feels like I have to tense my neck to keep my head from falling off..
Hi is a loss of cervical lordosis likely to cause issues with hip flexors/glutes? I have been told I have loss of cervical lordosis but have various issues - neck, shoulder but particularly bad pain in my glutes. Not sure they are connected. Thanks so much for sharing these exercises
Unlikely...but...if someone has significant forward head posture, it can definitely causes issues in the low back and pelvis area due to posture imbalance.
Hi, I had an MRI scan and it says Reversal of normal cervical lordosis. Can I do these exercises for this problem? My symptoms are dizziness for the last 2 months; GP gave me 3 different diagnosis : inner ear infection, labirinthitis , neck dizziness and after MRI it is reversal of normal serviceable lordosis . I am currently doing ur exercises for cervicogenic dizziness from RU-vid , which I showed to my physiotherapist when the diagnosis was neck dizziness and now I am planning to do these ones as well. Do you think it is ok if I do your cervicogenic dizziness exercises which I found helpful plus these ones to get the curve back ? Thank you very much for helping people ❤
For those with a reversal of their cervical curve, you often need some professional help...the exercises that you find helpful can definitely be continued. Always consult with your doctor.
Dr. I just got my CT scan done and the doctor said I have a straight neck. Could it be the reason why I'm experiencing dizziness and lightheadedness? and will this exercise help make it better?
Hi Dr. Saunders. Can correcting the cervical curve also affect the food pipe as it starts to get to its natural curve? Could it lead to narrowing of the food pipe or change its position ?
Hi doctor. My C- spine MRI shows loss of cervical lordosis and cervical radiculopathy. I'm dizzy most times. It's like sinusoidal wave, increases and decreases. Sometimes, when i try to turn head toward side and move up and down, then surroundings also shake a little. Will these exercises help? 🙏
Doctor I have suboccipital muscle weakness and stiffness due to straight neck. I constantly get dizzy, have bad headaches and eye strain/ vision problems. I've been to a lot of doctors but couldn't get a solution. Please tell me will fixing the neck curve fix the problem? Can I start by stretching and strengthening the suboccipital muscles and then move on to neck curve exercises or what? Please help, I've been suffering for 8 months.
Hey doc!! Do you take online consultation?? I want to get treated by you only, please let me know whether you can take online consultation. I would be glad.
Twice daily ideal...the best way to monitor your progress would be having your chiropractor re-xray you. Best to see a corrective care chiropractor for most efficient correction.
Hi doctor. My head feels heavy sometimes and I feel dizzy but when I do chin tucks and push my head backwards using my hand it instantly goes away. Within a second. What could be causing this doctor? Is it military neck or something else? I don't get satisfactory answers from the doctors I consult. Please help!
Can having military neck cause neck muscle inflammation and cervical vertigo?? If yes, can putting curvature back into the cervical spine reduce, or eliminate cervical vertigo? Thanks!
I was diagnosed with straightening of the cervical lordosis from looking down so much while breastfeeding. It created a hump on the back of my neck/upper back and I’m always in pain. Will these exercises help?
Been having neck pain for a year now. Had x rays done showing my neck is straight without the curve. Cost to much money for me. This video has helped with my neck pain but i still need to restore the curve on my neck.
Thanks for the helpful video! I have just been diagnosed with loss of cervical lordosis. For almost two years I have had symptoms such as stabbing pressure in my temples and on the top sides of my head. Unfortunately, I didn't correct my habits back then because these symptoms were associated by the doctors with sinus conditions and a deviated nasal septum. After septum surgery, symptoms persisted. A month ago, I experienced paresthesia in my hands and feet when I moved my head & I have this condition till this day. When I hold my head in the correct position, all symptoms disappear. My question is: is it safe to exercise the neck with weights (with neck head harness) when I have loss of cervical lordosis? When I did these exercises (stopped 3 months ago), I always felt a lot of relief in the neck muscles, but I am not sure whether I will damage something or advance the straightening of the cervical spine. I only have loss of neck lordosis, I do not have any disc herniation.
It should be ok if you are doing it properly and not using too heavy of weights...also best to consult with a corrective chiropractor however when trying to restore a cervical lordosis.
Thanks for your awesome videos. Hopefully the condition goes away with time. Two cervical joints (c7 ?) seem glued together and stick out. Slightly to the left side. They will not loosen up.
Thank you for the advice. Personally I would find it helpful if you did the exercises more slowly since I have issues I found it hard to keep pace and kept having to pause the video. But really, thank you so much :)
Wow thank you! So many chiros have just told me to do chin tucks to correct my forward head posture, but I got xrays that show a very rigid cervical kyphosis in my neck. Hopefully these help!! Thank you!
I would definitely do not do chin tucks with a cervical kyphosis unless under very specific circumstances...always check with your doctor...all the best!
Having trouble with finding the right pillows. I have a military neck from car accidents and wasnt able to finish my PT sessions years back. Going to try these but perhaps Any recommendations for pillow types?
I seen this video and also your video for dizziness for your neck. I have neck dizziness, pain and stiffness but also partial scoliosis and loss of curve. Which video would be best to follow daily?
Thank you so much for your videos they have been a life saver to me! I found out I have arthritis at 20 years of age, in my L-5 > S-1 as well as slight scoliosis and cervical lordosis which has caused extreme nerve pain and pinching. Im hoping that in following these stretches eventually it will lead to an improvement and I can get back to where I was before! If you have any recommendations or advice I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you ☺️
I also have military neck just diagnosed with it yesterday. Thru an Xray, because i consulted with a cardiologist thinking it was some form of stroke. Doc, my left back neck side stretches more than my right back neck, does military neck also do this ?
@@drjonsaunders thanks ko much for your reply doc, now that youve mentioned it, i do feel like small crackings whenever i do your exercise while looking up left sideways. Im kinda scared whever it does that. Do i still continue these exercises ? Or would you recommend me to go to a physical theraphist ?
I’ve had cervical spine pain for YEARS. It’s driving me literally nuts at this point. I don’t have money for drs. I never seem to… Thank you so much for this.
Hlo dr.... I have got straightening of cervical spine.... This is causing me much problem.... As im loosing my coordination and having one side headache ... What should i do?
I am recently days diagnosed with cervical loss with lidosis and I'm 20 can I recover from excesise and due to this I have headache but excercise is decreasing pain can I recover fully Dr??
Hi Dr Jon, I have cervical kyphosis and based on my research up to 80% of patients with IAS (which I do, lumbar scoliosis to a pelvic tilt) have this condition. I am trying hard to correct my kyphosis using pro-lordotic traction exercises like the ones you show here. However, I am worried that because of my IAS I will naturally degrade to a kyphotic state. Any words of comfort there? In addition, is it ok if I treat my cervical kyphosis only, since that has shown to be possible to reverse using conservative treatment, while my lumbar scoliosis is pretty much ossified? Thank you, and subscribed!
Thanks for your question - you can continue with what you are doing, but due to the nature of the complexity of your case, it is likely best to consult a professional like a corrective care chiropractor for help. I wish you all the best!
Hey doctor , thanks for the video, I am software engineer and spend most of the time on laptop, due to this I feel diziness before a year but it's fine now , but now I feel stiffness in neck and listen crunching sounds from neck whenever I rotate my neck and my recent x-ray shows that I have straighten of neck curvature , so should I follow this exercise ?
I have this exact issue, been years of it, finally got fed up with it, started progressing into my upper back. Going to PT, gonna try your recommendations and post back the progress.
