Hopefully Woolie can see this and guide Matt to stop buying Potions for his team members because it is a supreme waste of time and money. The lessons you have to learn in Kingdom Hearts is not friendship or light, its your friends letting you down (Donald, pls heal me) and wasting the items you give them (stop using potions we're fighting normal heartless). The true lesson of KH is rely on yourself, because you're the only competent person around and your team members are just tools to help you. Its basically telling you to be Griffith.

Goofy is the only useful one cause he can deflect attacks during some of his moves and carry a lot of items. Your advice is true tho. Only sora matters in fights and not bother with items unless it's a boss where you have a team.

I remember at the start of this LP that I was trying to guess in which Part they would figure out Traverse Town's candle puzzle. I was guessing maybe when they unlocked Hundred Acre Woods, but after that currently I'm guessing "never, ever".
jose barrientos I found the biggest problem with Deep Jungle being the lack of objectives. Furthering the story by triggering cutscenes turns into just checking every room until something happens
I like how neither he or Jane seemed surprised at a child and two animal people in funny clothes suddenly appearing in the god damn jungle. In other worlds where magic's a thing, it's not a big deal, but this just straight up Earth.
As much as I love these guys, their ability to get confused by the simplest mechanics and menus is baffling. At first I was disappointed that they obviously follow a walkthrough of some sort, now I'm just frustrated that they don't use it more lol.
It must be a trash guide too, or maybe Woolie is just ignoring what any guide would be saying about boss strategies and not wasting all your money on potions and how to put out all the candles or use lightning on the broken wire.
Also Sees door with picture of fire on walks away...facepalm. Sees new weapons in the only weapon shop in game. Wonders if they're any good. Decides not to get them, spends more money on basic potions. Double facepalm.
Something the guys might not be aware of that's important: Your magic power scales with your max MP, so anything that buffs your MP will give a significant boost to magic damage as well, and any reductions make a big negative impact, too. For Sora, it's not as big a deal, although magic can be really strong if you build for it, but Donald basically never wants any weapon that reduces his MP.

The way you worded that seemed to implay that being a play tester somehow makes you good at games. It does not. Plus, it's Matt and Woolie, one is blind and the other a child, which one's which is for you to decide.
You could easily cut these gummi ship sections by half if they just went in order and didn't go to traverse town after every world. You don't need the potions that badly Matt.
Or if they upgraded the gummi ship, or if they equipped donald and goofy's abilities, or if they bought them equipment... But alas these are the two best friends, expect nothing, deliver less. If only [REDACTED] was still around, at least he used to pay a little more attention to the games, at least enough to get the UI and Mechanics down...

I was more triggered by the lightning thing. Its clear that they are actively not thinking about whats going on on screen at this point. four sets of eyes and none of them are paying attention to the video game.
I literally bought this game a few weeks ago because of this LP I've never played this series and it looked like fun, that being said I still managed to reason out to shoot elemental magic at things to make certain things in the environment work (even those mushroom heartless). That being said I still got lost AF in Tarzan World.
In fairness Sora just met his companions whereas he's known Riku and Kairi all of his life. I don't really blame him. Also Donald was being a fuck about the gummi ship.
I'm not sure if that can be considered "throwing them under the bus." That implies that he somehow betrayed them, which, I dunno, his reaction was unreasonable but understandable considering the feud between him and Donald.

It's fine in this game, it's just made better in the 2nd. You just have to actually know what makes a good ship, which requires experimenting with different parts.
@@Neostrius Idk, as someone who's played a shit ton of the KH series since childhood, even as a kid I thought the gummi Ship segments of KH1 are pretty terrible. you can customize up a cool ship, but none of the gameplay is really any fun at all. KH2's Gummi ship sections are good enough to be their own game, practically. I think Woolie and Matt will appreciate them

Its even funnier because they make it a point in some worlds to disguise themselves to blend in more and yet the areas where its entirely normal human and animals, they don't change at alll. XD
I rented this years ago, and the only vivid memory I have of it is the hunter guy from this level riding a giant invisible chameleon and thinking it was the dumbest shit I had ever seen.
I always figured that when people see Donald or Goofy they see them as the whatever the dominant species of that world is, or a close facsimile, like in Atlantica or the Pride Lands. The average Disney character isn't seeing a giant duck and dog, but they are seeing humans that look vaguely like Donald or Goofy.
Man, in Tokyo Mirage Sessions, people gave Woolie a ton of shit for missing obvious UI cues, but now I see we could've had it so much worse. Please, please, never let Matt play an RPG on this channel again.

To be fair, he's been pretty competent in most of the fights so far(Besides Riku and the "random" kickback attack). Woolie should just be a bit more attentive with the guide, and providing hints, or outright telling him what it says to do where necessary.

They’ve reached the point where gummi is super annoying when traveling between worlds. Thank god this was one of the many problems with KH1 rectified in KH2 onward.
Three for three. 1. Door with large, glowing flame symbol didn't open when Examined. Matt walked away. 2. Exposed electrical circuits didn't do anything when physically struck with Keyblade. Matt walked away. 3. Chest next to candles didn't open. Matt walked away.

So let’s see if I have everything: no flame door, no lightning on battery, no candle chest, no moogle shop, no buying items, no buying weapons because why would you give sora a wand that reduces MP when Matt picked the sword?, no abilities for final and goofy, no attempt to go to the gummi garage, “go to the alleyway to see Leon” *goes to every alley except the one behind the hotel with multiple secret areas!* and now they’re in one of the most open world worlds in the game with things scattered behind waterfalls, down secret vines, and invisible enemies...I’m gonna go stock up on Tylenol for this headache.
The World Ends With You art style is just how Nomura does art now. He can't fucking stop. Like it's either that or the KH style which is like if he put his FF8 design heads on his TWEWY bodies and then softened the edges.
next session, take your time. and f*cking build a ship with more engines. by the end of the game you have a gigantic juggernaut that complete the gummi routes in less than a minute
As of EXCITING SLIDE HUNT Donald deaths 9 Goofy deaths 6 Tarzan deaths 0 Finding the slides on an old ass tv was a nightmare back then. The fact that heartless dont spawn till like halfway through the world makes it kinda slow but the boss fight in the end is great
I'm one of those weird people that enjoyed the Gummi sections when I was a kid. I spent longer building and customizing my ship than I ever did on the actual piloting segment.
In this video, we see a couple of thinks the Best Friends DO NO have. A. any sense of direction B. any sense of exploration C. The ability to form creative solutions to simple and obvious puzzles and I almost forgot D. The ability to shut the fuck up during characterization/cutscenes
I know it's not their fault, but I am so annoyed by them complaining about having to gummi between planets. The only reason they keep doing so is their insistance on buying as many potions as possible instead of just continuing the damn game. The game is very deliberately designed so that going back to old worlds is difficult and annoying RIGHT UP UNTIL you actually need to for story reasons, at which point they completely circumvent the issue from then on.
