Not only do both have a fantastic sense of humour but she clearly doesn't take anything he says to heart, can stand up for herself in a smart way, and even though he plays as he does, you can hear the love he really has for her. It's wonderful to see in a world that we live in today.

Feel bad for the guy, I was in a similar position at one time where you work your ass off and then get screwed out of a job last second, then keep missing jobs by the slightest bit and continue being the company’s 2nd choice. It damn sucks but he’ll get one soon. But all I gotta say is damn Nia was kinda hard on him. Even though it was light and fairly humorous, the dude was in a tough spot and getting such a high paying job like a lawyer is so much harder than finding a lower paying job. All the applicant have the same education, and probably have superb grades, and probably are great at public speaking if they’re trying to be a lawyer. But man if the roles were reversed, and it was the guy who got a free job that was breaking up with this girlfriend who was in a tough spot and didn’t have a job yet and was living at home, Nia would’ve been so much harder on him. Would’ve ripped him to shreds I bet, all about how “your job was free you didn’t work or interview for it, she’s in a horrible spot so you have no right to kick her while she’s down or leave her when she’s in this mental state, and who cares if she’s teaching tennis lessons? It’s her life and she can do whatever she wants”. But because it’s a guy with a shitty job, Nia is all “yeah you’re just playing tennis and sitting on the couch all which isn’t doing much, so you better keep applying to jobs”. It really is clear how ingrained it is that females believe guys should have high paying jobs, and that men should support their girlfriends or wives no matter what job they have or how much they make. I’ve just listened to too many Bill and Nia podcasts to know how she would’ve reacted if the guy was the one screwing over a girl in this scenario

Yeah, it sounded like they took a break because she didn't want to be stuck with him and he doesn't have a job. Like, she wants the potential future with him, but she doesn't want to be the main source of income in the relationship. All the responsibility. She wants a winner and just incase he doesn't get a job, she can have the freedom to look elsewhere and not feel guilty about it, but if he gets a good job, she can swoop back in there with the "I've always loved you" routine. And Bill and Nia's chemistry is the thing of dreams! One can only wish to find that level of intune-ness they share. Seems like they could open a second podcast with them just tag teaming questions all day. I'm here for it!
