I've been the new boyfriend twice in that scenario. The first time it took me a couple of days to figure out what went down, the second time I'd been through it once so the possibility was on the checklist. I'm basically a long-term partner, but once I figured it out I made the relationship physical and let it burn out. 'Bros before hoes' is not from my generation but most men have always had some variation of the ethic. Some don't for that matter.

Good man. Salute to you bro. Couldn't have been handled better. This is exactly the way men should act. Kept your integrity, kept your cool, and ultimately came out on top and overcame the situation because of it. Getting pissed off, flipping out on her or even beating the crap out of that dude in front of her or something would only have made you look weak and show she had hurt you which was clearly the goal. By denying her that satisfaction and just having a great time anyway, you deflated her little spite balloon by letting her know you weren't affected by what she did in any real way. Guarantee she felt stupid for doing something shitty like that. And on purpose no less. We're almost all guilty of wanting our ex to be jealous or regret our breakup of whatever. That goes for both men and women. Its just human nature. But it's how we choose to act on that nature that determines who we are. And to claim to care about someone and then choose to consciously hurt them on purpose is just wrong. Doing something low like that is not love. It just isn't. You're better off not having someone in your life who's okay with intentionally causing you pain for any reason. That whole excuse of "if I didn't care I wouldn't have done or said that to you" is a cop-out for being immature and spiteful. No relationship is perfect, but a truly healthy one between two people who truly love eachother doesn't require us to make excuses for malicious behavior. Lust, however, absolutely can. Learning to recognize the difference is part of growing as an adult. And unfortunately it's a growth that many people don't ever experience. Must have done something right with her at least at some point to have her acting that way though. Keep on keeping on

I’m a girl, but I’ve been in your shoes before. Lol. My ex would always bring in his new girls to the bar we went too, that we met at. This happened multiple times. One night, one of his flings’ dad came to the bar with them. Her dad was about his age, dad played pool with me and bought me drinks all night long. I had no idea it was her dad until she stormed in mad telling him to “come on” turns out her and my ex got into an argument over me minutes before in the parking lot. Lmao
