But now, being a parent of a 6 years old autistic little girl, I cannot even consider to change path, and it's extra difficult being brazilian, underpaid and blablabla. Happy Birthday, Cohh! Sound advice you’ve provided! I retired from the Marine Corps at 40. It was a huge change to step outside of that and start a new career. I had to discover who I was outside of what I had done for my whole young adult life. I landed somewhere but then decided it wasn’t my thing and made yet another change at 44. Where I am now is where I never thought I’d be. No longer paycheck to paycheck, debt free and living the dream. If I feel I’ve outgrown where I am now, I have the confidence to make another change despite my age (49). We only limit ourselves. The sky really is the limit. It’s not always an easy road but it’s worth it.

I love the message you are sending out with this. I decided to make a change in career about 5 years ago to work as a sound designer in the film world. It's been a grind but finally has started to pay off over the last couple months. I felt like I was failing for a long time but just kept at it with learning and making contacts in the industry. I'm nearing 30, been struggling throughout my entire twenties. Some would say I have missed what's supposed to be the best portion of my life but words like yours gives me hope that I can still make something of myself even if im still not there yet. Happy birthday Cohh! And don't be so humble. Turning 40 is absolutely a big deal and should be treated as such, because every birthday is a big deal! We let ourselves make birthdays just another day once we become adults. Its good to give ourselves this day to be special, feel special and be happy about who we are and who we've become.
