I've had friends express concern over my constant watching of "murder porn". The way these shows are presented is so soothing that I go to sleep every night listening to one. I don't really hear what's being said as I fall out, it's just the calm announcer format that helps me with chronic insomnia. I'm really pleased that * Bad Day HQ* is providing these Canadian shows, because even though I'm going to sleep when I watch, for some reason I don't like seeing the same Forensic Files or New Detectives over and over. Knowing what is about to happen somehow isn't as helpful as a hearing show I don't have memorized is.

I'm pretty sure murdered runaways, foster kids, indigenous woman and girl's, were never a priority or even considered in these investigations. The main focus was justice for the middle class wives(& of course they deserve justice, but so do the minority when they fall victim to a psychopath in power) And I bet he used his authority to gain trust plenty of times in his "career"..

The period of imprisonment in Canada is too short before these animals come up for parole. The victims families are forever it seems fighting the justice system, whilst the offender appears to get the sympathy of the system. Life should mean life. Australia is the same and The UK not much better, if at all? The US Justice system may leave a lot to be desired as indeed do they all, but in the case of murder 90% of the time life really does mean life.

Too many executed men have later been exonerated, and the death penalty has never been applied equitably nor does it work. Violent crime is five times higher in jurisdictions that use the death penalty. you just cant imagine what the little lad went through that day, so young hearing your mum being shot and not realising it till he walks in and finds her on the floor...That days you can tell has weighed heavy on him. Please guys just because someone is eligible for parole in 10 years time dosent mean he will get it, calm the hell down with your rants. He got life with a possibilty of parole based on a law that says his sentencing has to be based on the punishment/sentencing guide lines they would have had at the time he committed the crime 1970...He has got life and he will have to go through a long and hard process to have a parole hearing where victim impact statement, doctors reports, detectives/police offers statements will be made. he has already previously been locked up in a mental hospital and that will go against him. Think about it, how many murderers in your home country have to serve a certain amount of years before they get the chance to apply for parole and get turned down because they are still classed as a major threat to public safety.....loads

Most "BadDayHQ" films are repackages of a Canadian TV show made in the early 2000's. The music sound track is often commented on as too loud. "BadDayHQ" agreeing has responded that they can't adjust the original old audio mix. E.g., to comments on :Disasters of the Century." I feel they are very well done films, usually on events I've never heard of. But some do have audio mix levels problems from the older tech. BadDayHQ have recently been making some new stories.

I'm not shocked the producers know nothing about firearms like the difference between a pistol and a revolver, but why would the investigators assume a revolver to begin with? In 1970 semi-auto pistols were commonplace, possibly if not probably more common than revolvers. I heard nothing that would indicate a revolver other than there were no casings, but you can pick up casings.
@HadToChangeMyName_YoutubeSucks
@HadToChangeMyName_YoutubeSucks 4 года назад
@Glenn Wellington -- They didn't suspect a cop, and I'll wager no police department in history ever issued 9 shot .22 revolvers to their officers. While a revolver certainly couldn't be ruled out I don't think there's any way they would just say this must have been a 9 shot revolver. Why not a 7 shot revolver? Those are plenty common, I can think of 3 models just off the top of my head and only 7 shots were fired, why would the police assume he didn't shoot till he was empty? I think the producers just took the fact that it turned out to be a 9 shot revolver and kind of back pedaled to "the police immediately sleuthed out that it must be a 9 shot revolver".
@HadToChangeMyName_YoutubeSucks

I say this is a failure on the part of enforcement agencies. This murderer enjoyed 30 years of blissful life after committing the crimes, he did not deserve it but yet he did.

The beauty of a .22 LR is its surgical precision. It has just the right amount of power to penetrate a skull without making a mess. The bullet makes a small, round hole without gratuitous cracks, beveling or outward bulge. The brain is effectively switched off by that sweet little spinning slug. Suppressed rounds give out scarcely a 'pop' as they weave their magic.

We want to see an honest cop stand up and say "cops should serve double sentences" for their crimes, double sentences with no parole. Might be hard to find an honest cop though. I know one... and without asking him, I know he agrees with me. Recently trained cops are NEVER to be trusted. They have a new way of teaching them now.

it is shows like this that tell you what a dangerous world we live in. There is no safe place. I hate to think of what the world will be like for my kids and my grandson. It will revert back to the time when you had to be armed just to stay alive. Look at all the wars and all the people who gave their lives. And for what? So we could live in peace , Where is peace ? It is six feet under the ground .

Eligible doesn’t mean he will be released. Also, Canada has become stricter. The accused has to be tried and sentenced under the laws as they existed at the time of the offenses.

How could you do that? How wicked can a human being get let alone a police officer? Did he think about the little boy who stared at him when he was leaving? Did he think about the husband & family of these women before he pulled the trigger? Did he think about his reputation as a police officer? Did he really think he would never be caught??

Canada really needs to change the sentencing I mean REALLY 10 years for a 30 year investigation two murders and 30 years of freedom life and all the things these two women would have had. Bring back the death penalty worldwide and at least stop the revolving door of NON justice

Until the punishment fit the crime then you can call justice serve.That's why i like the US when they announce 3 ,4 life sentences or sent to death im always happy justice serve. But Canada and Uk they the same they too humane while victims and their families suffer.
@inkyguy
@inkyguy 3 года назад
If you really care about victims and their families then you don’t want the U.S.’s system because it produces far, far more crime than Canada, the U.K. or any of the Commonwealth countries, or the Western Europe democracies, for that matter. The U.S. has more than twice the recidivism rate than any of those other countries, sometimes far more than that.

1970 Ontario Canada - Albert and Doreen Moorby were a happy couple and she was looking after her 21 month old child. One day Doreen let a stranger in and that afternoon Doreen’s husband came home after work and found his wife shot and brutally murdered. Doreen also had been raped before her murder and the child was playing with the dead mother. The police found the killer had left blood and sperm evidence and .22 shell casings. Then Russel and Helen Ferguson, a couple living a distance away faced tragedy when a man knocked on her door and was let in and Helen was shot by the man and her son, Dale Ferguson saw a man leaving by car. Husband Russell found his wife when he returned from work. This murder happened two weeks later from the murder of Doreen Moorby and Helen too had been raped and shot. The offender was called the 22 caliber killer and tips poured in. Three years later a tip came up from a landlady who had noticed a man with similar features as the composite drawings of the wanted man but nothing eventuated and 26 years passed and DNA had made advances by then in 1995, the police opened the two cold case murders of Doreen and Helen when another crime occurred when a man entered a jewellery store and tied up the woman in the store and robbed cash and jewellery. Police traced the man named Ronald West, who had been a police constable in 1970 and 1971. In 1999, the police were closing on Ronald West and took a blood sample and matched the sample to the two murders in 1970.
