Irrelevant how it sounds. What it means is there are people who have mental issues such that they cannot legally be held responsible for their criminal actions. They still end up in psychiatric hospitals. The problem is they are not remanded into custody to serve their sentences once 'cured'. That is the travesty...

In general no such thing as "insanity plea" should even exist. What is insanity? A mental and psychological disability. Humans who are blind, deaf or whatever are also disabled - yet they would probably be held 100% accountable. The blind person could say: Oh I didn't read the laws, didn't see she didn't want what I was doing, etc. Accordingly a person with so-called insanity may also not be allowed to come up with excuses - if they have eye sight, they can just look around! Obviously other ppl don't run around raping and killing, sooo it must be wrong or at least not normal and they KNOW. Other ppl enter houses through the front door and when the have an appointment with the person - climbing up a balcony and getting in through the window? NOT NORMAL and they KNOW it! No such thing as an overall 24/7 "insanity". In my family I grew up with a couple of mentally ill ppl - they know exactly what they are doing, they just think they can do whatever they want and get away with their lies. Their trick is to believe their own lies and alter their perception however it is comfortable for THEM! They choose to put THEMSELVES OVER OTHERS. That is a choice! And just like other sick ppl they have responsibility to get HELP for their condition - but again they will make everything about themselves. Also I don't care how bad their childhood was, others had it worse & turned out fine. You don't become a killer, rapist, etc. (harm ppl) because of "insanity", but because of a shitty character! At all times we get to choose between right & wrong. Our choice - our responsibility. Btw. ever heard of someone go to a mental institution for not paying taxes, because they were found "not guilty" because of some "insanity" that made them not pay their taxes? Yep, me neither.

I couldn’t agree more. Sing it from the inside will make you wanna vomit. They get the royal treatment and the other psychiatric patients get stuck locked up with killers? One kid killed his mother with a baseball bat because she said no to him. That’s not an easy thing to do. You have to keep hitting until someone finally dies. It is a gruesome and horrific act and the rich little kid at least got locked up in a state hospital that’s a little bit unpleasant to say the least. It was clear though in He’s weak and psychiatric emergency that I got the whole thing was pretty amusing and he couldn’t stop trying to catch himself on the news like a typical sociopath.

I can't beleive you left it open! But my mom has always warned me about that kinda thing. Dint show your money off you'll get knocked in the head. Pay attention to your surroundings...Lock your doors...check your back seat..don't sleep with your windows open...brush your fangs.. wash your paws...lol we had little locks on the windows so we could have them up a bit at night. But yeah. Don't forget to lock your doors& windows! And if its a sliding door put a stick in the track so it can't be picked open. Those locks are so easily done! My friend had a key that fit ours. Dad was trippin' that a building key opened our back glass door. So he changed the lock and to this day ma sticks a stick in the track at night. If you have a traylor put a police lock on the door or a chair up under the knob. Those can be done with a swift kick or butter knife 🔪

@AI AC That's true, I've no personal experience with OCD and I apologize if my comment sounds too judgemental. But I think most people with this condition aren't violent...(?) I'm the opposite I can't start to live, to get up, to reconnect with my body, my "own name" or my changed personality since I've had a severe accident 25 years ago. Doctors should stop to bring back people from death/too far away just to study them and try some experimental medical treatment... Especially when the person doesn't want that. (PTSD from hospital). So unfortunately I know how precious my mental health was before as it's gone; I'm afraid forever.

Get a dog if you ever want to risk that door being open. No intruder device is absolute perfection but dogs are amazingly close for being early warning systems even if they aren't ferocious. Burglary at homes having dogs very often end with nothing being taken when they realize a dog is there.

I have nothing against sentencing to mental institutions as long as it's in addition to their prison sentence and not a replacement for prison.

About two minutes before he began knocking on the sliding glass door to be let in. The balconies were iron bars and easy to pull himself up. Have you never seen free climbers? They scale buildings in Dubai in less time with hundreds of floors! Just because you are fat and out of shape barely able to climb the couch does not mean everyone else is fat and lazy
