It’s all cut from the same cloth of Joseph Smith. So yes, it’s ridiculous, but it’s also familiar to them. Ruby Franke and the hundreds of other LDS cult branch offs all rework Joseph Smith’s old tricks into their new “revelations”. Before JS was a self proclaimed prophet of God, he was conman who used magical rituals and glass looking (getting answers from crystal balls, clear rocks etc.) He’d put his seer stone (his magic rock) into a top hat, put his face over the opening of the hat and gaze down at the rock while seeking answers. The rock would glow and reveal the location of lost objects or hidden treasure. He later used this same trick to translate Book of Mormon. The entire LDS faith was built off magical thinking and occult ritual, with some help from Freemason ritual/ceremony (temple rituals, garments, symbolism etc) Daybell borrowed from all the reptilian BS, remaking that “successful” belief system to fit his own BS by calling them zombies. Light/dark high vibration/low vibration

Zulema presents as a simple person who was a victim of circumstances. Personally, the fact that she has immunity tells me that she has a wealth of important and damning information, which in my mind makes her more credible. She didnt shy away from any of her own missteps in questioning, which bulsters that belief for me. As for Prior's questioning of her preparation, it felt like he was bullying a victim here and, to me, it made it appear that he was scared of her.

Credibility of someone clearly involved in this whole sad affair would obviously be a concern. And immunity for such a person brings a perceived impression to court. Getting the stories “straight” to me means that having been offered immunity she can then be more truthful than before that was offered. Human nature is to protect oneself and with that need to be self protective alleviated, much more information can be elicited that is truthful.
@FlaNative3
@FlaNative3 Месяц назад
I thought getting the stories “straight” could be just going over the differences - most of us tell stories a bit differently each time we repeat them. Zulema could have just said different things to various people and as the realization of the truth dawned on her. If I was just starting to realize that my close friends and husband were doing horribly illegal things, I might tend to not be too up front with that at first.

Choice of vocabulary could affect the perception of the Zulema/LE interview. “Reconcile” hits differently than all the other terminology…nowhere near as nefarious as “get your story straight”, etc. If there were inconsistencies in her various statements and she was due to testify, it makes sense to me that LE would want to clarify any vagueness or misunderstanding, to eliminate defence attack points. It does not mean, to me anyway, that she was coached. If detectives were concerned about getting her ready to testify without impeachment, I can’t imagine they would make the mistake of actually coaching her on video, knowing that would be exposed at trial.

Alex obviously knew his sister's pattern with men. She had been married several times before she met Chad. All of those relationships ended in messy ways which enriched Lori. Did Lori ever have a real job or any sort of career? She seems to be the kind of woman who preys on men and makes them support her, financially. Serially. Alex would know that and so would his wife, presumably. Murder for money is nothing new. While I have serious doubts that Zulema is telling the whole story, for her own selfish reasons, she has filled in a few blanks in this case. Too few. Better than none.

It seems to me that the police officers were trying to prepare her for the stand, to make sure that she had her story straight. I'm wondering if they were concerned, because it's obvious that her first language isn't English. That might make it easier for a weasel like Prior, who is obviously talking very quickly in an effort to confuse her, to get her to agree to something she doesn't actually agree with. They didn't tell her what to say, so even if I'd seen this as a member of the jury, I'd consider it a nothing burger. And I'd be really annoyed by Prior, tbh. If I was a juror on *any* case, my spidey-sense would be ramped up whenever a witness who had immunity took the stand. During direct/cross examinations hopefully their backstory & intentions would be challenged. From there, I’d trust my instinct. The ‘crazy train’ witnesses who testified in Lori’s trial & now Chad’s were cowards IMO, who hid/hide behind ‘religion’ both before the murders & owning up when it mattered most. I didn’t find her statements were any different. Both times she said if the demon is expelled the body will die. They seemed to be taught that once a person’s soul had passed away a demon could quickly enter the physical host. This is why they were using the term zombie as at that point they would become the walking dead. The body physically alive but with no soul only a dark spirit. When they cast the spirit out and Chad prevented anymore spirits entering the body the body would (naturally) die having no soul or spirit making the heart beat etc. Therefore these women did not think anyone was doing anything harmful to a person. No one was physically hurting anyone. Only Lori, Chad and Alex seemed to know killing was happening. And Alex believed he was on a divine mission from god. It’s very sad. But unless they knew that the others were physically harming people or were covering up for them I don’t see how they could face any charges. Being gullible doesn’t make you culpable.
