Nate Eaton was the reporter who confronted Lori & Chad on the Beach in Hawaii. He told Police exactly where they were staying. I'm not even American but I'm one of the many thousands who subscribed to East Idaho News. Nate was the man who stood with JJ's bio grandparents and led the pack. He and his wife are truely wonderful people. I hope Nate is recognised for his determined work to get justice for all the families and continues at the Chad Daybell trial.

For anyone interested when she is referring to Toms book. Tom Evans was another juror in Lori's trial. His book is available for pre-sale now and will be released when Chad is hopefully sentenced. I’m so glad you shared this interview- I might not have seen it- thank you I was chosen to be on a jury for a federal trial. We went to lunch and were going to start opening statements right after. When we went back into the courtroom, the judge said they had come to a plea deal during the past hour. BUT he invited us into his chambers and told us to “Ask me anything you’ve ever wondered about this process or a judge”. I wish we had had a little notice but, he was a black man and the conversation got pretty intense- a wonderful human being. It changed my entire image of the justice system

What a strange thing to say? You said you wish you more notice before being asked if you had any questions. You then follow that with “..but he was a Black man .. What does that mean? Because he was Black they got a plea deal, a white judge wouldn’t have allowed a plea deal? He was a Black man which meant the conversation got intense? If it was a white person, the conversation wouldn’t have got intense. By writing your comment, you’ve told everyone that you have unconscious bias against Black people. In other words you’re a racist.
@MKConnecticut
@MKConnecticut Месяц назад
@@LunaMoonGoddess because .. the judge brought up his personal struggles as a black man in his position- and even as a lawyer. It seemed important for him to discuss, along with the ways things were changing. This was also about 20 years ago. Since I’m 70 years old, I found it very moving. I should’ve said that in my original comment.

The trauma to jurors is real. I love how she recommended counseling information to be made available to jurors. I think this juror is exactly what we should hope to have in a trial! I’ve seen Laura interviewed before, by Lauren Matthias who hosts Hidden True Crime with her husband Dr. John Matthias who is a forensic psychologist. They and Nate Eaton have followed this case from the beginning and I have so much respect for both. I’ve also seen Tom Evans interviewed a couple of times. Both of them are intelligent and have so much depth and empathy. I can be cynical sometimes and hearing about how much integrity these jurors showed in their jury service, I just felt so much respect for them and much more hope for our justice system. I think Laura met Kay and Larry Woodcock through Lauren Matthias. She and John are close friends of the Woodcocks now, as well as many other family members and people they have interviewed, including Heather Daybell. If you haven’t seen their 3-part interview with Heather, you should watch it. It’s excellent.

That’s wonderful. I personally hated being a juror- I think it’s definitely case dependent, and as well as specific to the region/jurisdiction I’m sure makes a massive difference- it was absolutely traumatic for me and it took me a long time and therapy to recover from what I had to witness. However, that being said I would serve on a jury again (but luckily I still have about 18 more months of exemption from service!!) knowing the importance the role of jurors are in the criminal justice system

Excellent interview. In this crazy upside down world and country this jury should be so proud of doing the right thing. The “system” seems broken but it’s crooked corrupt people and dishonesty that spoil the outcomes of our courts. If everyone was as conscientious as she we would be so much better off. I always hope someday some defendant somewhere sees the light and just admits their wrongdoing and accepts their responsibility and sentence and uses the rest of their lives to try to make up for it. The juror is a patriot and a compassionate one.❤ I would love to serve on a trial.

Thank you for bringing this interview to us and for your thoughts about it. It was very interesting to hear the jurors and this juror's experience. It gave me a much better understanding of the justice system and process. I always wondered what jurors may be thinking, what impresses them, how they feel afterwards, and more. I am pretty new to your channel and am enjoying you and the chat. Have a great week.

I like that my district court judge talks to the jury after a verdict. He'll answer what questions he can, some information jurors couldn't know because they can't be prejudiced. We want to know how to make the jury experience better for them and have it be a positive experience. If it's a traumatic trial based on the charges, I often seen a few of the jurors at sentencing to what I assume help gain closure.

Hi Peter, I was so glad you popped on to give your opinion that was of course correct. Lauren from HTC told us that she called you about the Daybell trial😊

I enjoyed this analysis/commentary almost as much as watching Nate’s original interview. Laura was an amazing juror and the respect she voiced for the other jurors and the judge and the whole system as she experienced it lit a spark of hope in me that all is not yet lost, the America we loved and respected is still alive, though badly battered by people who, like Lori, only value her for what they can get out of her for their own selfish gains. I hope somehow Lori gets to see the original interview. I haven’t watched many of LYK’s videos, but I also gained some respect for him, seeing his appreciation of both Laura and Nate, who is reminding us what real journalism is supposed to be. Well done everybody!❤️

What a wonderful, intelligent, and empathetic lady! The perfect person to have on a jury. Who is Tom who has just written a book? Although I am aware of the terrible acts that have been carried out by Lori and Chad, I didn't watch Lori's trial, and I have only watched some of Chad's trial through Peter's live recap videos, so I don't know who they were talking about, and I am interested in learning more about the book that Tom has written. Thanks!

Tom Evans was juror #18 in the Lori Vallow trial. He wrote a book about his experiences in the trial and is donating all the proceeds from the book to an amazing charity. The book is available for pre-sale now and will be released after Chad is hopefully sentenced.
