I was in 5th grade when I watched this video. I remember wanting to move to Japan after watching this haha. I can’t believe it’s been 8 years already. I lovedd watching the food reviews, I always come back and watch this video it brings me so much comfort. Thank you for being part of my childhood.
Even after all these years, this is still my favourite video you two have done. It's probably one of the first few I'd seen from your series, and I just love how candid it is. I jump back to it every year or so just for kicks. I did finally see the strawberry sandwich at an Asian bakery last time I was in Toronto and thought of your guys immediately! Thanks for all the awesome content over the years!
I found *Tea's Tea* at a local asian food market! I was astonished. I purchased a few bottles and presented it to a friend the same way Kyde did; "This is the tea that tea would drink if tea could drink tea." It was the milk tea variety and it's not bad.
Some of the best meals I've had on a quick run was from 7-11 in Tokyo.. love it! Nobody in America believes me when I say the Japanese 7-11 is awesome!!! Thanks for sharing!
You guys are awesome. My girlfriend and I watch you all the time (we especially love the Japan ep's) We want to go to Japan so bad and we've learned so much from you guys. Just a friendly hello / thank you!!
I lived in Yokosuka for 2 years (2009 - 2011) and your videos bring back great memories of Japan. My favorites at 7-11 are lemon tea, milk coffee, gyoza, and one of their noodle dishes..I don't know what its called but it looks like lo mein. Their peanut butter bread is awesome too. Anyway keep up the great work and subbed!
This particular video always shows up on my feed. I watched it when it first came out, watched if a few times later, and I’m watching it again now just cuz. Thanks K&E!
I love how detailed your videos are. I love Mapo Tofu. They are so easy to make at home. And so economical too. I have seen those strawberries sandwiches when I was in Japan. I have wondered if they were any good. Thanks for the review, I will definetly try them the next time I'm in Japan. There is always so much good choices at a Japanese convienience store. I so wanna eat them all, but I can't.
Thanks for all the videos about Japan! I've been considering moving there through an ALT teacher program for a few years, but I was always a bit nervous to take the leap. Then I visited Tokyo and Kyoto last year and fell in love with it, so I'll be applying for the JET program this fall. :) These videos have been super helpful!
After the first sentence, I couldn't stop watching ... "this is so much fun, .. honestly, I love these explorations." If I had to be snowbound overnight in some convenience locale, if my vehicle was buried in a snowbank .. that store would be like Heaven. Anyplace, a hotel filled with vending machines would also be .. ok. I don't know why but I rate places based on overnight comfort as a snowbound traveler. Superb .. Cheers
I agree from JP But japanese mapo tofu is very japanised food, and we call it marbo-dofu. Chinese style is very spicy, used many black pepper and tobanjan, and some other spices. Japanese style is not so many spices than chinese one. I like both one,but many japanese don't like too much spicy style.
I remember finding this video like 2 years ago and i just visited japan and suddenly remembered this video. I literally searched 7-11 japan review and u guys were the first video that came up. Two years later and i still enjoy watching 😬👍🏻
Wow, I cant believe it's been 10 years since this video was published. It was sad to see your around the world trip end, but, it was exciting to see you start a new adventure in Japan. Thank you for the last 11 years of contenet, it has been a great journey. I look forward to the next 11 😅
This video randomly popped up again. This is the first video I saw of you guys and you guys are in Europe! Love everything you do and I can’t wait for you two to travel around the world again!
I actually just got back from Japan on Sunday. I am honestly missing ピッザまん a lot (which I had watched you talk about in a previous video). I also tried a Katsu Curry from 7/11 in Asakusa and it was honestly a really good curry, much better than a large majority I had from other stores. I have also been learning a fair bit from watching you both over the last year, so thank you for taking the time to put these videos up!!
Loved 7-11 when I was in Japan a few years back. Not the easiest country to be a vegetarian but I always found really beautifully prepared food in them
Looking at your old videos, this was the first video I saw of you guys! Now I've watched pretty much everything and it's amazing that I first watch it because you were in Japan but I honestly love the places you've visited outside of Japan more. Here's to more crazy adventure.
I just subbed your channel, love your guys vids. I lived in Japan for a year and loved it. Watching your vids make me want to go back! Cheers from Canada
ummm Mapo Tofu is a typical Sichuan dish from China edumacate yourselves and yes i know educate is spelled this way i just think ignorance need to be communicate on same level of mental capacity lol
umm that is what Google is for ignorance is no excuse when we have the technology at our finger tips to check. I still do not see Eric or Kyde say that dish was originated in china. I take this serious because I am American Born Chinese. lets say i am a new immigrant to the us with the technology we have now if you don't know or unsure the net will tell you whats what. if i were to say that the Chinese invented apple pie would you be pissed? ill be like this is the best damn Chinese apple pie i've ever had in my life lol. I am sorry even I think that's kind of ridiculous.
alan lau Knowing the origin of a recipe is not important information. People don't immediately research every dish as soon as they try it. What the heck do you expect?
Again you guys succeeded in cracking me up! I am almost tempted to try the mapo tofu in Japan. We will be there in June! The 7-11 in Hawaii is similar but only a quarter of the choices I saw in your video. Great video as both of you have this quirkiness that works very well.
I enjoyed watching your video it brings back pleasant memories of japan we lived there for 10 years we always went to seven eleven that was one of our favorite convenience stores i wish i could visit japan again
I live in Japan also and I couldn't believe how nice the 7-11s are there either! I love the pastries they have there. I just found your videos and I love them!
I used to go for breakfast there before I went to preschool! It's odd that I remember it. I really miss Japan it has a variety of machines(drinks are really good), food, and places you can visit.
omg~ this brings back memories! we don't have 7/11 in germany, i only know the japanese one and yes!!! that mâbô dôfu really is soooo goooood!!! i totally agree with that! i also enjoyed the food from 'life' very much! i could talk about japanese bread all the time too, they are really good at that!
Hey Guys Love The Vids , To your question of where is the corners of the bread ? I would say they use then as bread crumbs to sell and even for them to use when they give you something already made and they want to fill it in like meatballs or thicken up a sauce.
I lived off of ¥100 Onigiri at Lawsons and boxed curry for nearly a month. Everything else was just soo expensive! That's until I accidentally stumbled upon this small mom and pop shop that served cheap teppanyaki. Your videos make me feel so nostalgic about Tokyo.
I was there for two weeks and I had 7-11 three to four times a day! Soba, sushi and mochi! There was this fozen then with different types of fruit balls! Breakfast was always incredible! Seaweed, dollop of butter with seafood in the middle! OMG the best train food!
Julie Deleon We can get burritos at some places in Tokyo, but they are expensive and...well....not quite as good as The States. Chips are pretty easy to come by, however. -Eric
Alas, I won't be going to Japan any time soon. However your videos let me visit vicariously through you both. Thank you for the time, effort and content. Cheers!
Another video that I has made me very happy. I want to travel to japan and Teach English once I finish schooling. (I finally decided). Your videos have always made my day, and even more so now that I have a dream to go and Teach over there. It's nice to know I won't be going in completely blind when it comes to actually living there.
They usually have pizza, slurpies, sweets, and some other things at the 7-11 in the town I live in the US. I can find some fish, sushi, rice, and miso soup at a grocery store nearby.
Oh!I found good channel on youtube! I like your style of explanation, it's funny! I'm buying little snacks at 7-11 almost everyday, too. Subscribed your channel. Thanks!
LOL, @Kyde and Eric , I see what you did there x) P.S. Love ALL of your videos. You guys are my favorite channel at the moment. Always look forward to watching your vids after class.
