Discovery 3/4, Lr3/4 front wheel bearing/ hub assembly replacement

@@OUTBACKDiscovery I have never seen a petrol dis 1 2 3 4 out here only 5 u can get diesel or gas I ask about petrol discovery 4 but I only can get it in left hand drive not a right hand drive

@@OUTBACKDiscovery nah, just my bunky box trailer. Although if the idea works ok on the box trailer it could be possible to do the camprite as well. I'm in WA

I'm guessing your unlucky enough to live so somewhere that it snows? Haha I don't have to deal with snow where I live so we don't have any of the rust issues and I also thoroughly wash under my car after doing any beach trips

Morning sean These hub assemblys are a sealed for life unit so once fitted no maintenance is required until they fail again .when installing the cv shaft nut again after new hub is fitted make sure you torque the nut to 250nm atleast or the oem spec of 350nm

@@carpocolypsenow it's ideal to torque where you can however not really only thing super important to torque is the cv shaft nut Has to do with holding some pre load on the hub bearings themselfs

Through landrover parts and accessories Australia was from memory 475 for both I think Leo is by far the cheapest for parts I use him all the time now

From memory it's 30 or 32mm but not 100% confident

32mm if stock and 36mm if not.

Hey guy if it's from factory there torqued up to 350nm so proper tight I used to have to use my breaker bar and pipe and stomp on them to get the xv nut off but now have the big 900nm 1/2 ryobi gun Both sides are standard counter-clockwise rotation to get off did you raise the little tab they fold over with the hammer to lock the nut in place

@@OUTBACKDiscovery thanks for the reply!! Yeah got the tag out of the grove easy, but like you say a whopping 350nm:-/ going to try heat and a 1/2 inch impact gun, air tool tomorrow; just to whack and whack, but I guess Next is 3/4inch breaker bar. Snapped my 1/ 2inch today on it.

@Guy Harding yeah my first one was a prick to do , just ask if someone has a 3/4 milwaukee rattle gun that will get it straight away and atleast one of your tradie friends will own one

@@OUTBACKDiscovery hey i did the hub bearing today. took about 2 and half hours but got it done i had a slight issue with the main stake nut for the axle but was resolved.

Is the grinding noise when braking ? Or continues when moving after braking If it's when braking your pads will be worn if it continues could be a wheel bearing or something wedged in between rotor and stone guard
