The box art on the various versions of this game and many others from the 80's was amazing. You don't see much of that any more. Only cartoony cheap pictures anyone could draw.

Totally agree, there's something fantastic in knowing that someone picked up paints and brushes to create the art for these old boxes. I don't doubt that with some modern games a lot of effort goes into them and skill but I dunno, I like the grit and texture of paint. Most modern boxes, they're all done in photoshop or illustrator. It's personal preference but yeah, something special about the old art

I never owned this as child :-( my neighbour had this game plus the expansions. We thought he was dead posh and rich 😆😆 hours of playing the game such memories

Cool. There's a similar game in italy in the '90 called "Assedio", with catapults and crossbows which were used to besiege the castle

I have that game too, though that game came out in sooooo many different names. One I have is called Castle Storm, but it's the exact same game as weapons and warriors, siege, assedio, battle knights. Amazing how many names it got published under AND how the artwork for the box is more or less the same across all of them :D

There was also a chariot set that shot chariots from the crossbows and a warrior would sit in the chariot. I was inspired by the battle of Helms Deep in the twin towers to revisit these toys. I bought up all the sets I could find to get enough bricks to make my own helms deep battle. I never refined the rules, but had a lot of fun with them. A great game.

I've been trying to re-locate info about a very similar game I had in the 80's but was sci-fi themed. Like it used similar discs but also movable units that I recall being somewhat MechWarrior or AT-ST like in design.

hidden gem channel! lucky me to find it, got a favor to ask if its not getting you to a lot of trouble could you scan the instructions? i got the Belgian version of the game and i would like to know more of how to use the spells and such :( it would be great if you could do that :(
