Dynaglo Kerosene Torpedo Heater Fix

Last time I tried to use this heater it was spitting / sputtering and would not stay lit.
Heater Details:
Dynaglo 75,000 BTU
Model #: RMC-KFA75TDGP
Pump Pressure @ High BTU Level 3.8psi (Low BTU N/A)
Repair details:
Replaced both air and fuel lines, 1/4" ID Air Line, 3/16" ID Fuel Line
** MAKE SURE THE UNIT IS UNPLUGGED AND DISCONNECTED FROM POWER BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY REPAIRS **

Finally!!!! After watching 100s of videos you showed me how to fix my problem. I left my lines couple inches longer so I could cut the bad end off and pull out some extra line and plug back in. Thanks man!!!!

Wanted to say thank you for doing this video. I’ve got a larger Dyna-Glo torpedo heater and it quit heating last winter. Your video gave me the confidence to open it up and the fix was just as easy as you demonstrated.

I’ve been thru 2 or 3 of these heaters and have one in storage with something wrong with,I hate working on em cause I don’t know anything about em.i don’t know if you have one but they make a temp switch for these are handy as hell,plug into it and plug it into outlet and set preferred temp and it’ll start and stop automatically I love em

super helpful ,gives me an idea where to start . mines only 5 years old 50,000 btu . its runs for a few minutes and stops : { always cold her in Ontario , Canada thx Brother

They"re fairly simple to work on and should last a lifetime if taken care of and cleaned regularly. One little bit of info I found in the owners manual...in cold weather it will start instantly if you hold your finger over the pressure adjustment screw when you turn the switch on. The fuel gets thicker (diesel) in cold weather and is harder to get sucked up the fuel line when the pump starts.

Thanks for sharing that info. With the price of Kerosene where I am at $6.59 a gallon I’m ready to switch over to Diesel. I have a few of these heaters, and going to convert one to Diesel for comparison. I did hear the Winter Diesel mix here is a thinner version.

@@mw3designs I run just good old pump diesel (no. 2) which I just thin with a little alcohol in the colder months. Mine burns clean no fumes on diesel. I never liked the smell of kerosene anyway.

7:00 time. MAKE the new hose, about 1/12 inch LONGER, AS the dry-rot, will work on it again. Then, the next time, you just snip off the cracked parts.....reconnect. Done. I have 2 of these, model KFA50 H....and both, are DEAD. I suppose, its the control pcb electronic board ? Do you have, any other ideas ? The part number, of the board, (do digital temp display, as yours here must be newer) is 215A-0048-00 and date on it is June 17 2015. thanks, for any info ...... On one, i took apart the compressor, and cleaned, adjusted it . (5,000 of an inch, space at top on closed loop gap) Cleaned photocell. All ,seems in order, hoses good.

Pressure seems to be just under 4 psi while running. Is that about the right setting for a clean burn? Does it go higher? I'm at 8300 ft outside of Denver and I was thinking you might need to go a little bit higher for more air

Can you make a video of how to replace the fuel gauge. The cover on mine broke and if you move it fuel spills out of it. Thanks in advance

Ken, they are fairly easy to replace, I guess I'm fortunate that the fuel gauges on my 4 heaters all work, probably shouldn't have said that. If one breaks I will definitely make a how to video.

perfect explaining on everything. You kinda got confused on a couple words like zip tie and cable when you said you would cut the cable but meant zip tie lol and some other word in the beginning. No biggie also please take more breaths per sentence dont want you passing out while trying to explain to these no brains how to fix stuff
