BTW< the NY Times has a series of articles on walking during the month of June. I adapted one of their tips about a sensory walk. I'll try to identify as many sounds as possible (birds, wind, etc.) and then switch to identifying smells, then try to find whatever tactile stimulation I'm feeling like the breeze in my hair, the sweat on my forehead, my feet hitting the pavement, etc. I've also tried to find as many colors as possible. You get the idea lol.

I am also that person circling the airport terminal for more steps ;) loved this video! Am going to try walking with my palms forward right now.

We are going to be nodding at each other as we lap the terminals 🚶‍♀️ The palm trick is an exciting one. Has me thinking there must be many other techniques to be discovered!

We just got back from a family vacation and walked 16k steps a day. I had so much great food and drinks on the trip that I expected to have to reset after getting home, but nope! It was all good!

Thank you, Rachel! I watched your original video on walking being under rated a while back but revisited it after seemingly getting hurt time after time after doing my regular workouts. I decided to try walking about 3 weeks ago. I do see subtle changes already. I then started watching T-Tapp videos after your video on dry brushing. Such helpful information!! Thank you for all your time and effort in providing these videos!

Walking is my # fave “workout” by far! Even on cold days (I’m in MN) as long as a trail isn’t icy, I’m walking my dogs a few miles. It’s not a massive calorie burner per say, but I’m never sore, it’s low impact, and it doesn’t create any bulky muscles. Love it, and the tips are awesome! Keep us posted on the weighted wrist weights, I wonder if they would give me carpal tunnel OR just amazing arm muscles??

I've been dabbling in T Tapp since you mentioned it last on your channel. It takes some getting used to (especially lifting the big toe), but it really activates muscles I haven't been using. Who doesn't love a hoe-down?!

I love walking. This was a great source or information. Thank you. Love watching your updates and TA information. Have you ever done walking and mat Pilates to improve tone. I’m looking at combining the 2. X

These are wonderful tips to keep in mind walking. When I keep a posture check and swing my arms, I feel like it energizes me. Going to try the palms-up method for sure. I walk out in the country where no one is around so I can act like a maniac doing arm circles, etc. lol. Will check out those weights! Have a wonderful Sunday, Rachel!

That’s such a great point! Posture and arm swinging really is energizing! That’s so nice to have some privacy with an outdoor walk - lord knows I would be experimenting with so much more!

Rachel! To get sculpted arms use egg weights. They are much better for your joints and are made to fit naturally in your hand depending on your activity (I have diff holsters for when I’m boxing [fist] vs walking) also they come in GOLD. Just do it and you’re welcome💋PS love your channel + if you want a walking buddy sometime who also nerds out about this stuff I’m in SM

Walking is good Brisk walking is better Brisk walking on an incline is best

Rachel you are adorable! You have enlightened me on so many different topics. You don’t “bang on” just to hear yourself talk which I also LOVE. Thank you for all the content from lymphatic drainage/T-Tapp/TA/HAM etc. This question has nothing to do with walking but in regard to the spring flooring. What size is acceptable or should I say do you recommend? I have space but don’t want to fill it with this flooring if it’s not necessary. Thank you Rachel
@RundownwithRachel
@RundownwithRachel Год назад
You and your kind words have made my day, Catherine 🥰. I have the 6x10 and I find it to be a great size! I went with the American Gym Floor which is the cost effective version when compared to Tracy’s Super G floor. I’m willing to bet Tracy’s floor is better quality but I couldn’t rationalize the cost of it.
@catherinepollina4161
@catherinepollina4161 Год назад
@@RundownwithRachel thank you Rachel. I watched your flooring video more than once and agree. For what I’m using it for I think the American Flooring is a better option. I e called American flooring more than once and the guy is so helpful. I’ve also reached out to the TA flooring and requested an estimate (twice) with no response. 🤔that settled it for me
@RundownwithRachel
@RundownwithRachel Год назад
@@catherinepollina4161 yes, love how helpful American Gym is. To think that I had big mirrors mounted and an American gym floor and still had $1000 saved when compared to TAs floor. Not that price is everything, especially if the quality is better, but still just difficult to rationalize that much for a floor!
