So interesting and enjoyable listening to a personal interview w/Zac. Loved! Like Zac and,so many others, when I listened to Mark 's first interview on Now You Know, I was sooooo impressed by Mark & his Vision and "vibe". We started investing in FUV then and follow all.. Loved when Sandy Munro "joined the team". Our household will ultimately have an Archimito. Go Team Archimito!!!

Recently visited Eugene, rented a couple FUVs with friends, bought some merch.. such a fun vehicle and such a beautiful city. Also Now You Know channel is massively influential.. I have heard you guys mentioned in videos and comment sections of MANY RU-vid videos. I’ve been tuned in since 2017, keep up the good work!

Great episodes. Can't help wondering what Marshall McLuhan "The Medium is the Message" would have made of conversations like this?
@RojCowles
@RojCowles Год назад
@@tygergruber763 To be honest I'm trying to read "Understanding Media" by McCluhan and for an engineer its tough going but I think that the gist is that the medium used to communicate can transfer some information about intent, i.e. whether to call someone or send a text to indicate how urgent or immediate the message is, and that the medium say verbal story telling, a theatrical presentation, a movie, a TV show, newspapers or social media tends to shape how the message is presented and consumed and that the common ways of communicating, the "medium", will shape society and human interaction, much like people are blaming social media for the rise of misinformation, tribalism and polarization. Again IANAP (I Am Not A Philosopher :)) so I'm probably way off base here.

Actually there was a company or two that made 4 wheeled bikes back in the 80's. Worksman might have made an industrial version? It is very hard to determine why someone can delay gratification. It may be from what Zac commented on earlier in that schools are made to make you good manufacturing candidates. Though that may be more due to an area where companies had put a major impact on the local economy. Rather than schools that are more oriented to trades and college prep. It may be sentiment that doing a good job is more rewarding than the reward. Or maybe too simple a task to be rewarded in ones mind? It might be witnessing the behavior at a young age. Why does a child seek out parental approval?

Zac should disclose at the open that he is an investor in FUV. The only investors who have made real money on this company is sadly short seller Bonitas, who took a short position when the stock was around $17 (and made a public statement). The stock is at $2.50 today. So assuming Bonitas exited, they scored.

Good show and interesting guest but could have been a lot more focussed from Tyger and preparing a logical throughline of questions for the guest. I found myself skipping streams of consciousness that lacked a point. You'll get different preferences from everyone you ask I guess. Also sad to hear no Kenzie, I missed a female voice and point of view. I know she's shy but after a year of podcasts this could be more balanced to also attract female listeners who don't want to hear just dudes blabbering all the time, like you had only one female presenting guest in 13 episodes.

@@tygergruber763 Thanks for the reply. I think the character of your podcast changes with the target audience you want to make it for. If it's for your own enjoyment I imagine you want to keep it free flowing and conversational and bring a lot of your own thoughts and interests into it, whereas if it's aimed at an audience that's maybe short on time and attention you would want to keep the focus on the guest and guide the interview to keep it tight. Maybe there is a happy middle ground in there somewhere.

Interesting convo with some smart people. Maybe consider keeping the podcasts off of the offical channel though. If I was a potential customer this stuff can be distracting, unnecessary, and maybe a bit polarizing. If I was a senior or corporate customer wanting to order a FUV or get some basic info, I'd be lost. The look of Arcimoto's channel looks unprofessional and click-baity. Time to grow up as you rAMP up. Give people a clear path to order the product and answer basic questions. As interesting as the podcasts are, this stuff goes waaaaay to deep for the average customer IMO. Love the team at Arcimoto and I know they work their asses off with passion - this is just my overly-critical opinion. Have a great weekend all.

After Zac said "I can't talk to your lizard brain" about riding the Roadster and MLM, I grabbed my phone and opened up my stock trading app to buy more FUV. I did this for the same reason I'm building a few ebikes for friends to ride. No one really knows how amazing it is until they experience it. When a potential Arcimoto customer hears this (like me) they make up their minds to buy. It will take years to budget, but maybe they'll have doors by then! (inside joke for NYK fans)

Rare earth mining is the PR bane of EVs we can end that by using iron nitride magnets that perform better than neodymium. National security concerns over a single nation aka China controlling rare earth mining and refining are also eliminated as every nation has iron and ammonia to make iron nitride magnets. Niron Magnetics makes these magnets in the USA.
@popeyegordon
@popeyegordon Год назад
This issue was given attention several years ago. The US is now surveying deposits of our needed minerals, buying the land or getting permits. The existing batteries and magnets are good enough, provided we can continue to refine range. Speed is no problem. Too soon to authoritatively claim there is a better battery and magnet chemistry. And let's make it clear there would be no mineral shortage at all if not for the very wasteful Tesla status symbols that are obscenely over powered and too heavy. Not to mention the new Hummer EV which weighs twice as much as the largest Tesla. Each Tesla contains enough materials to make 3 or 4 Arcimotos. So is there a battery mineral shortage or a battery mineral squandering?

Texting is the highest entropy way of communicating we have between two individuals and an audience. Especially as you look at a month's worth of text messages and it is just not that big it can be held in your cell phone. So why not build a broadcast network text messages which is in broadcast it's every every cast as with just a little work using a little bit of swords into plowshare or even the types of satellites any internet company is floating, you can listen in to every cell phone chat, and there's a almost all texting is in clear text as there's enough legacy applications in the stack that need it. And in some way when the handset becomes the server. You've put all of the talkers on the same party line. We're a hashtag is basically a phone number. And not having that hashtag or phone number selected means you're not interested it's the equivalent of blocking. Because after all freedom of speech means nothing if it's not matched by the right to speak. And for that matter the Bill of Rights is not the bill of freedoms. And there has been a time when every radio broadcaster had the opportunity in the AM band to bounce their signal around the world. So the old is new we just have to seize the day. Since a number of these services would like to communicate with everybody. Even if it takes minutes to ensure that the message has reached every client. A win-win in many ways even though people think they're privacy is being invaded we've already learned that is the case given just a little bit of focus by those interested. See mine and Richard Fernandez text on what if your privacy was your property? And if you weren't paid for it that was a taking that should be compensated. The name of the text on Amazon is open windows. By spix and Fernandez.

Sorry missed a part of this, for the last decade Plus, the GPS signal a GPS signal is available on every cell phone, that pulls off the l2 commercial band. Which is fairly low bandwidth and could handle every text message sent. Not high bandwidth to be Steward in a round robin buffer that when a unique text is seen it's passed up the text message stack. Bingo a worldwide emergency communication system. That doesn't depend on the cellular infrastructure or related for any two cell phones to talk to each other. We've had too many outages of cell phone and internet infrastructure to depend on it in an emergency. To say nothing of war and destruction and government interference. If a government wants to censor and they try to jam GPS they screw themselves and their neighbors. Might just as well pull all their trucks to the side, as well as anyone that depends on a accurate time. So if you look at the GPS footprints they cover everything and all we need is a let's pass the basketball around so that everybody touches it a couple of times you're done. And if you can't touch that channel yourself because you're not the GPS satellite. What you do is you use a non-interfering RF protocol with enough redundancy to cut through any noise. And enough bayes as there is no end of depth in the message itself to guess and correct all the time. Or even if there is a small amount of undelivered messages available sure enough there's always a response that carries the content and meaning of the one it's responding to. And you can always get the from and the to which some would think is an invasion of privacy to allow old-fashioned gum shoe detective work to work. But as long as you're a bit are you and they really are, there needs to be a test case in a US court which says and acknowledges that your bits are you in any form. And there if they are admitted in front of the court and a jury they must be considered as hearsay. With the jury instructed to treat it as hearsay. Where the judge scold the prosecutor with a do that again it's an automatic mistrial, and I'm going to hold you in contempt of court. Bingo privacy assured by a human system, not security theater, or privacy snake oil.

But what if my neighbor can see me seducing my neighbor's wife? By looking through my open windows. That's why the title of my and Richard Fernandez's book is open windows. And has been
@georgespix7125
@georgespix7125 Год назад
Same goes for quantum computing and methods being applied to communication. Communication means that there's some type of change of state by some component of the system. And that component always emits something that can be seen. Just to modulate or encode the message. Meaning all I have to do is look back up the pipe to see that mechanism. And if only by reflection off of that mechanism, I can sense that and reassemble the bit screen the real bitstreamwhere using Bayes to find the depth in the signal. Redecode, I'll be able to read at least some of the message which is often all I need. Think about it. Which is why the British were damn irritated with us, as we started publishing some research papers, teaching how to use hidden Markov models. Game over.
@HackingHollywood
@HackingHollywood Год назад
Hi team, I know the green screen concept seems like a good idea…. It’s not. It’s fairly distracting. I would highly encourage y’all to print a banner or shoot with a real environment. When the background is sharper than your subject it tells the audience to pay attention to the background, not the people we’re trying to listen to. Also, please ask your host to not bump the mic or table. Or use a high pass filter to take out some of that bump. The content is super interesting, but these things take away from what you’re doing.
