Wow!!! Ok this one actually nailed it! My ex recently said after 9 months and her admitting to 4 rebounds which didn't work . She said she said I had no chance . Hi Clay! My ex and I have been together for 5 years. We broke up a couple of times in 2022 and again here in April. I had anger issues and I messed it up. She said she wants to end it. But all this fight happened just a week back. We had decided of a break, where we can be in talking terms but also give her space until she heals. But today she calls me to her place to discuss about her decision of breaking up. I did the mistake of convincing and she said she's not receptive of all this right now. She also said that it's over, and she's done with it now. I hope the content is not as serious as the context, because yeah, she just took 1 week to come to this conclusion. I ideally she should've taken atleast 2-3 weeks time off from the relationship if I'm not wrong but she said she doesn't want any kind of uncertainty so she is breaking up. Also said by her - "how do I know about future, but you shouldn't think that you will get me back ever. It's over." This is so hurtful! I don't know what to do. How do I know if she really means it? My ex and I were in a relationship for only 6 months, but we had a great relationship and had a lot of fun - as in enjoyed each other's company and laughed a lot. It’s been 2 months split from my girlfriend of 11 years now, we have 2 children together. iv made some changes since we split, quit my weed addiction, seeked doctors help and on anti depressants, i has a lot of problems when I left, she said she has been unhappy for a long time. My mood swings and that fact I never changed when promised and quit my addiction drove her over the edge, iv pushed hard to get her back. Acted very weak and begged and pleaded, I left her alone for a few days then sent her a heartfelt letter and flowers one morning, she agreed I could come round early in Xmas morning to see the kids, she made it clear it was nothing else, I pushed a little and she said it’s not going to work because I’m getting the wrong impression. I sorta did have hope it could be a start, just be there and be happy for the kids and maybe she could see a little change in me. I reached breaking point with it all Friday night and Saturday morning, messed things up big time. Worried a lot of people in the process, I managed to get her on the phone last night and we spoke for 40 mins, she told me we will never get back together and to move on, I told her this is the kick up the back side I needed, she told be we couldn’t make each other happy anymore because of the way I was, said I needed to be happy everyday and be more of a man! We ended the call on good terms. Spoke twice today for the kids briefly and was all positive. My plan is to now just focus on been happy everyday and every interaction I have with her to be fun and happy and be more of a man and stop letting things bother me. kids can be a great bridge for that. I’m not going to push anymore once I bat across to the other side of the tennis court I’m gonna wait till she bats back. Is there any other advice you can give? And do you think we ever stand a chance again even though she has said we will never get back together and to move on and the fact she’s been unhappy for a while?
