I am a New Zealander and a Hardout All Blacks fan and I was very proud and happy that South Africa beat England 😁😁😁 now we are both 3 times Rugby World Champions. Congratulations South Africa
I think we've always have a love and hate relationship with New Zealand as the Springboks. We both want the other one to win when we not playing against each other.
Every time I go watch the Springboks matches people just assume I'm one of the friendly Japanese fans who support the Bokke. But no, I'm South African. Asian, Chinese, South African. I'm proud of our boys from the bottom of my heart. I cried a lot when we won.
Im also back, we need the full game hle batho ba ba jwang.... @Worldrugby please upload the full game, itd really make this quarantine thing worth while please, pretty please
As a South African, I often forget how great our defense is. It's like living in Cape Town, I see the beauty of the City and nature so often that I forget how beautiful it all is. I went back and watched that time stamp and man o man, beautiful defense from SA. I'm a proud bokkie!
I strongly believe that around the 33rd minute of the game was the moment that South Africa broke England's confidence. No matter how many Phases went by the English could not get past the legendary defence of the Springboks.
Frank I am struggling to recall a defensive performance that comes even close to this at a match of this importance ANYWHERE. When they say defense wins you games, this is definitely what they meant. Textbook stuff right here.
100% man. I still argue that the World Cup was decided in those 3 minutes. Those big hits from Marx and Vermuelen on Vunilpola really summed up the physical intensity of the Boks in this game. Great to watch and overall despite the final score, it was actually a really enjoyable final.
I agree England were demoralized in that period but every time they tried to regroup and started getting some self-belief back Springboks destroyed that tenous new found hope with points! Great day for us and great year winning the Rugby Championship as well as the Rugby World Cup
Watching live we all knew that it was over if we could do that to them. They had nothing after that. We could've had another try if we wanted. Revenge is sweet and every single person in that squad deserved gold.
@@daaichommie708 don't forget to mention that it was enjoyable for us and the rest of the world. But for England, they were breathing through the wounds
That edging moment when England tried to score however Springbok defence was dangerous like a climate change the best defence ever preventing a try on score line
It is so beautiful to see Luhkanyo Am pass to Mapimpi, his best friend, to give him the honor of scoring the first try in the finals ever for Springboks, Rugby is a game of values and that is a beautiful representation of those.
I'm a Mexican who grew up in the US. I loved football, the soccer kind. I've never seen a rugby match and this is so awesome! I was never really a fan of the nfl, I think it's wack. College American football is good, but this sport blows american football outa the water. It's so dynamic, I love it. How is this not popular in North America?
It’s getting there! The MLR’s really gaining momentum, plus so many players from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa are rounding out their careers in the MLR. Plus, the US women’s team are powerful as
@@selbymashile9108 Tears of joy! I have nothing against England, but in the unfair world we live in, full of inequality, malnourished children and extreme austerity, it just feels righteous SA won.
The try by Mapimpi (and Am) threw me into celebration, then the try by Kolbe had me in tears. I will forever remember this match and this day. Long live the Springboks.
as an AB fan in lock down there is no better game from recent times, a gem reminding us the great talent of the Springboks lead by a coach who believed in them...EPIC
@@YoyoZee ..yes ..says it all about the team..and how its wasnt about individuals..but about 1 team unified.. and bringing glory to our nation..Am was also instrumental in getting the ball wide after marx bashed the english player..sending kolbe on his way..
England fan here and a proud one it was a honour watching this game even though we lost but South Africa fully controlled this matchust respect for the people of South Africa coming together for rugby it's not the country what's a mess it's the politics same here in the UK with the Brexit stuff much respect 💪
I think the game would have been amazing if England could have managed to get a start like they did against the ABs but as a bok fan I have to say I'm happy it went the way it did.
Luke Chadwick Good on you. Thanks for positive comments. You have great potential in England. Watch, within next 10years UK will be economic powerhouse again (and probable work cup winners come 2023!!)
SA deserved to win undoubtedly. England were completely flat after the NZ game and just never turned up against SA. It'll be interesting to see what the players say about it after Eddie Jones leaves because there were quite a few stories circulating around at the time. Congrats to SA. Their country has serious problems across the board so if this brings them together then it's worth it for that alone.
I'm a Yank, raised on football, but Rugby is the one sport I watch religiously. Since we don't have a very good rugby team, the Boks are the team I follow. And I just wanna say: how does the chakalaka taste, England? Spicy enough?
Awesome to see thanks for choosing the boks, this year you have Major League Rugby starting in the states, so you will have your own teams to support. The Beast has recently signed a MLR contract. Just like sevens rugby, when the USA gets its fifteens act together they will be a force to be reckoned with.
@@stephenreeds3672 Just two examples. Before the final, the nauseating plonker Matt Dawson said that if he had to pick a joint England-SA team he wouldnt pick a single Springbok player. Another deluded pundit (Ugo Monye), who writes for the Guardian and appears on various rugby channels, claimed that "no team can match the physicality of England" and that England were likely to beat SA by 20 points Those are just two examples of the incredible hubris of the British media and many England fans.
@@tonysa2337 except those two examples are both ex-players and bound to give a biased, if not arrogant, opinion for fun. ANY ex-player pundit regardless of sport eg. happens all the time in football, would confidently predict a win for their old team. That's what they're paid to do. Either way, as for your last point - so what? All countries, commentators and press are biased towards their own team, it's nothing new. "British" media? England have to put up with all kinds of shite from Scottish and Welsh media constantly. How come England are the arrogant ones when everyone else is doing it just as much? Just sports bullshit, live with it and stop moaning.
ABs Fan Here. So proud SA beat England I hate how Cocky they were after beating us. South Africa always will win these because they show and do things that other rugby teams know little of... *Dedication* *Desire* *Discipline* *Determination*
You knew the writing was on the wall when, before the game, the BBC's rugby correspondent was asked to pick a combined England-South Africa XV and chose not a single Bok. You knew the writing was on the wall when the England players were told they'd never have to work again if they won the final. You knew the writing was on the wall when Sports Direct, the UK's largest sport retailer, started manufacturing and selling England RWC Champions t-shirts before the game had even started, let alone been won. And if you approach a rugby match against the Boks with that kind of arrogance, you're destined to be disappointed. The only reason New Zealand consistently beat SA is because they never take the Boks lightly, and that is a lesson the English should have learned before embarking on their premature celebrations.
As a South African this win brought so much joy to me and my family & we are by no means die hard rugby supporters. I watch it now & again and I do know what’s going on. This match was incredible and for the springboks to win by 20 points in a World Cup Final is phenomenal.
watched this in Edinburgh, and everyone (except the English) supported South Africa, and were so happy when we won. The attitude of the English rugby team after the match, was no surprise either. poor sportsmen.
Is much as it breaks my heart to watch to my beloved England. South Africa's defence was impregnable. Utterly stone cold solid and admirable. You don't get much better than that defensive display. I have to applaud them and how solid as a rock they stayed the whole match.
Lets try amd get their attention maybe they will, i hope they will, watching this game will make this whole quarantine thing worth it of course that is other than the flattening the curve thing..... Help we need need this game
I have the honour to watch this live in Japan, what an atmosphere and what a game, will come down as one of the great finals in a RWC final. Congrats SA 👍👍
7:53 - 10:40 is the reason why I keep saying when armageddon comes, I wanna be in a bunker defended by the Springboks. Breathtaking defence, for me these 3 minutes during the final were the most intense.
After watching the ABs get well and truly outplayed by England it was great to see South Africa do the same thing to them. Well Done Bokke, bragging rights for 4. long. years.
Looking back at this, the Bokke's defence coach has to be proud, there was definitely no way through for ENG..everyone knew their role & worked in support of each other. Beautiful game
From a different angle I would pay my respects to England, you played a brilliant world cup worthy of winning it but caught us on a good day. Be proud of your great side and more so thrashing the ABS. Well done the bokke and God bless .
South Africa much deserve win, awesome game from both teams. England tried but looked abit slow at the end, well Kolby had the ball everything looked slow. Thanks🇳🇿💯😎
This is keeping me alive during lockdown. Diesel Dwayne preventing two tries on our tryline, catching all those kickoffs and winning two penalties. Man of the match in my book. This final is definitely the best one ever and it will be difficult to top this game.
If you looked high in the night sky of this match, you can see the starry image of Nelson Mandela smiling with pride, like he did when South Africa won the 1995 World Cup. While the finals were truly awe inspiring, nothing beats that day of 1995 when that match against New Zealand brought the Nation of Post-apartheid South Africa together. And that spirit of unity still shines here till this day. Go South Africa!!
I will always remember this day. Watching it in a Bangkok bar and all day, the streets were full of Boks and English fans in great spirits. It was a magnificent match and so happy the Boks won. Roll on France 2023.
@@teesaw8197 Try NZ-SA in 2012 for game of the decade. And then ask yourself this: how can a country like SA, which has been falling apart at the seams for decades, win so many trophies? The only other people on earth who could manage that under the same circumstances are New Zealanders, and this precisely why the ABs and the Boks wipe the floor with everyone else.
When the England team failed to score at the 30minute mark they realised that no team on earth was going to stop the Boks. They were simply bullied in all aspects of the game. Welcome back Springbok rugby!!!!!
My Lecture, Prof Alexander said he is blessed to have seen South Africa winning the world cup 3 times.. I have seen 2 so far and I hope God will bless me with more years to see maybe 5 , I swear I will die in peace
