Steps to clear a paper jam on the HP OfficeJet 4650:
Remove jammed paper from the input tray, output tray, printhead access area, automatic document feeder, and underneath the printer.
Use the printer's automated tool to clean the paper rollers.
Clean the page smears.
Manually clean the paper rollers with a dampened cloth.
Reset the printer.
If none of these steps remove the paper jam error, service the printer.

very helpful. thanx. I could not figure how to ge the jam out. it was in back of the tray turned upside down on the rite side and boom there it was! INFORMATIVE video.

I just got a hp officejet 4652 all-in-one printer after installing the ink cartrigdes I'm getting a display saying: a lease one of the cartridges has a problem. These are the cartridges that came with the printer.

Seriously?? I've had the same problem with this printer. Gues what -- paper isn't ripped, dusty wrinkled or bent. Do you think your customers are too stupid to figure out that crumpled up paper won't work? Nice, HP

Hi, on my hp 4634 printer, 4X6 photo paper always stuck, says paper jam, tried cleaning the rollers and all other parts no luck. Only issue with the photo paper. A4 paper prints smoothly. Any advise? Thanks.

The printer does nothing when I tell it to clean page smears, it just gives the paper jam message again.

+jskull Heisenburg Aligning the ink cartridges correctly aligns the printhead with the printer. Align the printer from the printer control panel, then evaluate the results and you can also manually clean the area around the ink nozzles. Note: Do not perform these steps unless the printout specifically shows smeared text or track marks. Refer to the Step 11 and 12 from the article: hp.care/2nRjU01 I understand during a print job, the printer stops feeding pages, and a paper jam error message displays on the printer control panel. I just got the printer out of the box and got this error message!! I tried all 5 steps from this video and the error still will not go away. Seems silly to spend another $89 to fix a printer I've never used...but I waited too long to take it out of the box, so I guess I have a $158 door stop now. :( No more HPs for me.

HP Printer Support I followed all 5 steps and still could not clear the error. I ended up contacting HP support (via chat) and they walked me through a couple more things still with no success. I’m happy to say though, I was sent a replacement printer! Yay HP!! I had to put brand new ink cartridges in the new printer (the ones from the original printer from Amazon were bad). My faith in HP has been restored...but not so much with Amazon. I realize now they sent me a used printer. Bad Amazon!! Thank you!!

Well in this case it was false. However, I did contact HP Support as the printer was still under warranty and after they took me through a few more steps to confirm it was truly an issue with the printer, they sent me a new printer. This one works just fine. :) I think the printer I got from Amazon was a used printer (even though it was supposed to be new). The ink cartridges & paper were IN the machine when I took it out of the box!! Bad Amazon! I'm happy with how HP handled the situation. Good HP. :)

This didn't work for me. I have an officeJet 4650 and followed the steps shown here. Never worked. There's something I don't understand. If I print the Printer Status directly using the touch screen, then there is no paper jam and the printers works ok. But if I try to print my word or pdf document, a paper jam immediately appears on the screen. I have cleaned the printer, there is no paper jam, the printer stops, says there's a paper jam, clock ok and take the paper out by itself. I bought my first HP printer on 1993, and I have been having the same type of problem so far. Half my life dealing with HP printing issues, seeing the "innovative solutions" that HP has made... terrible printer, still has the same problems that I had 30 years ago. I don't recommend to buy this product.

Dude... I have the exact same problem. Prints test pages from menu or even from PC just fine. But says "Jammed" after the first printed line but there is no jam whatsoever.

In my case it turn out to be the "timing strip". When you get dust or some junk on it that causes those "jamming" issues. You need to take it all apart and the best case scenario - clean-up that strip. The worse case - replace it. It's a piece of flexible plastic strip with small lines on it.

@@MrFernandoBedoyaThere is another thing that I used to have with this printed. When you print some large image in Photoshop and it complains about clipping but you still let it go, it will hit the edge and report "Jamming". Then, no matter what you print after that, even a little text from a notepad it would hit that edge right away and say "jammed". However, if you enable "border-less" printing then it would work fine but all the dimensions would be wrong. So in that case I had to delete that printer from all machines, reset the printer to factory defaults and re-install it again. Then it would work. In that case it looks like a software/driver issue for sure.
