My tactical breakdown of the 20th of January 2001 showdown, where Floyd Mayweather defended his WBC Super Featherweight World Title against the hard-hitting Diego Corrales. Both were undefeated and most observers believed it to be the toughest test for Mayweather.
It instead resulted in the one of the most impressive, one-sided victories of Mayweather's career. And this fight analysis video attempts to break down Mayweather's strategy / tactics during the fight.

I wish Foreman had continued to commentate, he was the only person who could really put Lampley in his place when he's blindly cheerleading for whatever boxer he was clearly biased towards. Pretty Boy Floyd was truly amongst the elite of the elites in terms of athletic skills. Money May is in the pantheon of the most elite brilliant strategist ever.

This should have so many more views. But people just want to think of Floyd as a cherry picker, or a runner. They just don't want to admit just how good he was. Look how he dominates Corrales! I love the fact that he makes Diego drop his hands repeatedly. His defence was on point, his speed was off the charts and his counterpunching was something else. By the end Diego was hesitant to throw a punch because every time he did, he got nailed with that lightning fast left hook! He's not the only one, by the way. Arturo Gatti was gun shy in the later rounds of their fight, and even Canelo Alvarez seemed a bit confused at times. You don't have to like Floyd personally, but don't deny he's the best of his generation, and one of the all time greats.

They went a 6 round exhibition at Cal Berkeley and Diego took his opportunity to get busy when Floyd was scrimmaging, and by the time Mayweather turned the gas us, Diego was already into him and just dominated all 6. This was Floyd's revenge
