In this video I explain the commonly misdiagnosed steering issue. Many times the steering box will needlessly be replaced when in fact it is a binding Universal joint. I give a step by step procedure on the diagnosis and replacement of these joints.

Thank you for unselfishly sharing your insights and talents, young man. And linking the parts and tools for the necessary repair. I know it takes a lot of time, prep, and editing just to complete a piece like this. So, we all appreciate it. Good camera work and editing. You have a gift to teach comprehensively and an insight how to understand a non-tech would think. That is the sign of a tech who can think outside of the box. I can see you'll be a Master Tech and better. I'm not an auto technician but an HVAC contractor for 30 years. I love my (2) 06 Powerstrokes which I use (1)for work...a 2x4 utility body and (1) for play....a 4x4. Thanks again. Aloha. Keep doing what you love to do. It shows in your work.

You just saved this old man a lot of headache. Bought a 2000 F250 two months agos, pulled a 30' trailer from OK to AZ, wandering all the way. A bit of play in the steering, had that fixed; added the missing "stablizer', and still wandering around. One search found you and I can sleep tonight knowing that my mechanic will be checking this out. THANK YOU Grasshopper, (before your time).

Unquestionaly the best instructional video I've seen on youtube. No character acting or hype. I was impressed by the way you covered all of the possible headaches and continued to stress patience. The first lesson I imparted to my own kids; If it is difficult, getting angry will not make it easier. Think it through, keep your cool and work to figure out what YOU are not understanding. It's not personal to the truck, only to you. Truck don't care how mad you get. I have my maintenance crew performing 80% of our truck repairs in the shop now, saving thouands of dollars that will be put to better use; Newer/better tools/more repairs/maintenance for the same money. Well done!

Bad design. The drivers side comes off without removing the swaybar though.

I have that exact problem, thanks I'll take a look. Great video by the way, you broke it down to the point where there are no questions to ask well done.

Well laid out approach and detailed instructions. I don't have a 4 wheel drive, but it was informative. Excellent job with the video as well.

I just saw your video for the first time ever. Great job and great video. Simple and concise which is exactly the way I like it. I just did all this not long ago and I have to say you are good at explaining exactly how to do the job correctly. I will be watching more videos to see what else I can learn.

There is having knowledge and having skill, you have shared both in a plain simple language and sharing why having specific tools and the reason to have them or rent them was great. Honestly this seemed very much like a shop video for class room instruction. Great job.

Nice job on explaining this procedure in a comprehensive and thorough manner. Ive owned a bunch of Dana 60 Fords and replaced ujoints a few times, as well as wheel bearings, and ball joints, and your video will help me do it a little easier the next time.

This sort of information is worth more than gold. Imagine the thousands of dollars wasted throwing parts on a problem that's completely hidden unless you know to check this. Thumbs up!

I'm so glad I found this video! This is exactly what my truck is doing and nothing has fixed it. I just went outside and checked my u joints and you were right they are binding! Thanks!
